    Bonus Fact: What shocks most people is that ice hockey is a growing sport in Arabia, having a similar growth path to rugby and even baseball. While association football/soccer and cricket are very popular in Arabia, the Arabs have invested in ice hockey in recent years, usually with the help of Russia, Britain, America and Canada.
    As of 2024, four of the seven members in the Gulf Federation have registered players, the ones that lack players being Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen. Oman has 73 players, Qatar with 165, Kuwait with 468 and the Emirates with 695, which is a total of 1,401 registered players, putting the Federation between Mexico and Turkiye.

    Nice video and I'm also a longtime subscriber and fan of your mapping vids. Could you possibly do some sort of video on central asia. (Preferebly alternate history). Also if it isn't too much of me to ask, why is it that you upload so infrequently??

    • @CartographicTales
      @CartographicTales  4 роки тому

      Thank you! I will think about doing something on central or south east asia. About my upload frequency: sometimes I have more motivation and/or time and sometimes less, that's why I can't upload every two weeks for example. I am however working on an entire series of which I will produce ten episodes and then upload them frequently.

    • @khaledkarazon5709
      @khaledkarazon5709 4 роки тому

      Thanks for taking the time to make a reply to my comment. Also understand what you mean about your upload frequency. (Quality over quantity). On a separate note have you ever done any collaborations with other youtubers or mappers such as Varot?? Perhaps that'll give you the publicity you deserve.

    • @joshmurky194

      But historically parts of Iraq and Jordan were parts of the peninsula so why not put them in

    • @CartographicTales

      I get your point but I count Jordan more in as part of Bilad ash-Sham (the Levante) and Iraq alone. Probably I am going to do a video on both.

    What happened before 1920? Who reigned the Kingdom before 1920? Why this never been told in history? What were they hiding?

    • @CartographicTales
      @CartographicTales  3 роки тому

      I decided to start the video in 1920 to have a span of 100 years until 2020.
      From the 16th century to WW1, the Hejaz was part of the Ottoman Empire but they didn't have direct control. The Sharifs of Mecca ruled the region. In the following years, the tribe of Ibn Saud from the region of Najd conquered what today is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

      Israel isnt supported by all irl as arabs have in general already said they will recognize israel once palestine is given independence along with east jerusalem. in this scenario it was possible, in actual it never happened. thats why it wont happen until israel doesnt stop being stubborn and gives up what it has stolen.

      nah mate people worldwide call it football especially since it is actually football because you play with your feet not your hands so get used to it in the world people call it Football but in your world (American world) you call it soccer and you call a sport where you play mostly with your hand as football.
