*So what do you think? Is this the best fitness tracking band?* (Also sorry for the small blooper at minute 13. I made a last minute decision to show the testing before the app tour and that clip was not relocated!)
I have a Fitbit Ionic that I purchased literally almost 3 years ago to the day. Yesterday that Fitbit died on me, the screen went out and after a short phone call with Fitbit customer service. I found out the device was irreparable and out of factory warranty. Fitbit set me up with a nice percentage off my next Fitbit purchase though. Unfortunately it was not applicable to the Charge 4 as I'm sure it's because the device was just released. So I purchased another Ionic. After watching your video, the Charge 4 has "no" wireless headphone connection capability but "can" connect to another speaker device, is that right? if that's true then I'm wondering if I just spent $100.00 for that one main particular feature. After doing a few side by side comparisons that's really the big difference between the two. That and a color display screen. Thoughts?
You never said anything about how accurate the step counter was! I take that to mean average, like most fitness trackers and not worth the extra cost! Maybe you just didn't want to say bad or awful!
Got a charge 4 for my birthday to replace my charge 2. It's definitely a big improvement across the board and I'm enjoying it so far. I agree that it's a little pricey for a tracker but fitbit has tried to deliver some bang for your buck! I would recommend the charge 4 if you can live with the price.
The charge 4 in Canada was $170for sale and versa 2 was $200 same with ionic at $200. I chose versa 2 just for the Alexa and always on display. I don't regret buying versa 2.
The Charge 4 is a great device however beware of one thing if you are a perfectionist. The band does NOT sit right up close to the device on both sides so dirt really accumulates quickly in the grooves. The gap isn't huge but it's enough. A lot of people won't care but when I pay $150, I expect better. The only way to clean this out is holding it under water. It's a daily chore that quickly grew tiresome and I ended up returning it. If you aren't likely to care about this, then you'll probably love the watch. It's great in every other aspect. I should also add that when I tried another Charge 4, it suffered from the same problem. There are plenty of other people who are complaining.
I got a Charge 4 about 16 months ago. I loved it. One day I took it off the charger and all it would do is vibrate. I cleaned it really well. I went to Fitbit and all they wanted to do is give me 35% off another one. I'm sorry, but I think a product should last longer than that. You should at least be able to get it repaired. If I wanted a disposable tracker, I think it should cost a lot less money.
O mike! Im so glad i have found this small channel, i just love you and your videos... tbh, you are way too underrated, i wish i could give you a shoutout, but i cant, sorry..
Can you read the display in full sun? I have a Fitbit Alta and cannot read the display at all outdoors when walking. Can you recommend a fitness tracker or smart watch that can be easily read outdoors?
This screen is certainly not as bright as most Samsung devices, but I had no issues while running. If you have a glare from the sun, it can be hard to read. I have not had an issue with reading it outdoors (this complaint is mostly something I noticed while trying to shoot this video) The Samsung Fit is pretty bright, but may also have a glare and become tough to see in direct sunlight. There are not many e-ink watches out there, but perhaps the Ticwatch Pro 2020 would be a good one for its second display? Significantly bulkier than any fitness band though :(
I had charge3 for 1 year. This charge4 isn't a big difference from 3 versions - they've just added GPS and pay option. 1 rubber band broken. I've replaced it to a longer one from the box (it was included, probably for thicker wrists) - and after a week it starts to endlessly auto pressing the main button... So now I just couldn't use it and it discharges battery really fast. I've cleaned it, took off all bands, but nothing substantially changed( Also, the warranty period is out. Now I'm thinking about another tracker, definitely not Fitbit. The screen is damaged a bit, some horizontal stripes have appeared. Also, it "counts" steps even when I just waiving my hands. So, based on my experience I definitely wouldn't recommend buying anything from Fitbit - it's just expensive, not so durable, and even can't properly perform its main task - count steps properly.
Nice! That is a great gift idea! Fitbits are a great way to track your health and lightheartedly "compete" with friends in the app (see who gets more steps per day, etc.) Thanks for watching :)
I have.a question about the bands. Whether I choose black, rosewood or blue, do the bands all feel the same? For some reason, the rosewood looks more like hard plastic compared with the black band. Is that true? I want a soft rubberized band - not hard plastic. Thank you for your assistance.
Great! I hope you like your new Fitbit! I was really excited when I got mine as well. It is pricey, but very well made in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
Warning for anyone in the UK looking to buy this watch - there's only 7 or so UK banks that support fitbit pay, none of them are major banks, so if you're looking to use fitbit pay then you're out of luck. Fitbit haven't managed to add any major banks to fitbit pay in years
Nice Tracker but the only issue is the Battery life, I have been using Amazfit Bip for the last 2 years the Battery life is amazing last 25 -30 days. I can't find a replacement with the same battery life and built in GPS.
Nice details, great product shots, your audio was once again, I don't know, quasi outstanding at times, and your knowledge about fitness gadgets is top notch. If you are ever is Utah and want to go to for a trail run with our local running clubs - let me know 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Sounds good my friend. I may end up in Utah someday once this quarantine ends. Thanks for watching my video, and thank you for your kind words! Stay safe out there
I am done with Fitbit after 3 years (Charge 2 and Charge 3). So clunky and my last tracker (Charge 3) has become unresponsive a lot of times until it finally gave out.
Thank you for not adding music in the background and thank you for this great review its better than all that I’ve seen so far and yes I liked and subscribe❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Purchased the Charge 3 about 15 months and the LED screen stopped working a couple of months after the 1 yr manufacturer warranty expired. Only used the watch the 4-5 times a week during my 90 minute workouts . I recently resumed using the watch again after having misplaced the charger 6 months ago. I was offered 25% discount towards the purchase of a new one. What sense does it make to support a company with unreliable product and unsatisfactory customer support policies. Thought I'd warm as many potential consumers as possible. No thanks Fitbit to any of your product even as a gift. There more reliable and inexpensive options in the marketplace.
I've been using Fitbit for 6 years, I got Charge HR and Charge 3. Although now I'm gonna move to smart watch(sorry Fitbit), I still think it's a really awesome brand.
Great band until the planned obsolescence feature switches on, google for problems people report in relation to the Charge 3 model. In my case Charge 3 was my final experience with Fitbit products.
Great video Quick question: is it a huge drawback if I don’t want to pay for the premium version of the app? Could I still fully utilise the device? Thanks
I'm a casual runner (twice or three times a week) and I have a mi band 4 since august. I like what it does, but not quite always sure about the data I get from it. Would you say the Fitbit charge 4 would be a great upgrade? I don't care about the GPS since I always have my phone. Thanks for the great review!
Thanks! Since you care less about the GPS, I assume HR is your primary concern here. The Fitbit will provide better insights in the app and has some excellent health analytics for the rest of your day (sleep). I have not tested the HR sensors side by side yet, so I cannot say whether or not it is better than the Mi Band 4. I plan on making a comparison video soon though!
Regarding the sleep tracking I went to bed around 0350hrs in the morning and the Charge 4 spotted it right away. I binge watched Netflix for over two hours laying in bed and the tracker didn't count it as sleep... very surprising... that was my first night wearing it as well and I didn't enable the feature, adjust setting, etc... all auto.
I currently have the alta HR and one thing i dislike about it physically is how “tall” (the height from the sensor to the screen) it is. how “tall” is the charge 4? i couldn’t get a good gauge from the shots in your video.
I am hoping we see some better Google integration with a possible Fitbit Versa 3 this fall. I think we will just have to wait and see though. Thanks for watching!

Hey Mike, just saw this. Thanks for posting! I have a Fitbit Charge 3 and am very happy with it - except for one thing - when outside in sunlight I can't see my display - only when cloudy or inside. Is the Fitbit 4 any brighter in outside sunlight? Thanks.... Oh, by the way - I just subbed your channel.
The Fitbit tracks your swimming in meters or yards by pool length. But there's no GPS tracking on the swimming part. The GPS tracking works good. It does round corners, but it's still okay 👍
I am wondering if Samsung will release a sequel to the Fit. I am skeptical, but a Galaxy Fit with GPS would be really nice! I guess at that point, just get the Active 1
My family has 4 fitbit 3 Charges. Two have died in about a year and a half. I am disappointed in its lifespan. I can't find any information between all fitness trackers as to their lifetime durability. Can you tell me which fitness trackers is most reliable over all of the brands?
Have been thinking to get one of these, but considering Fitbit is being sold to Google, I'm not sure what will happen to this tracker and besides, it can't really sync the details to Google Fit, right?
My husband purchased me a Fitbit Charge 4 “Advance Fitness Tracker+ GPS” yesterday. I have an IPhone and downloaded the Fitbit app to my phone. But I can’t seem to find the sleep mode option on my Fitbit charge 4.. Does it matter if my Fitbit charge 4 is sync to the Fitbit app on a iPhone vs. Android phone?
I got the Versa 2 today (still unopened). Thinking about returning it for the Charge 4. Anyone know if the step counting on the Charge 4 is as inaccurate as it is on the Versa 2?
@@GadgetGreg yes, after just 2 days the firmware update jus randomly showed up in the fitbit app... i couldnt manually install/trigger the update. But now it works!
I bought this Fitbit Charge 4 and after two months, found that it is tracking phantom steps, flights climbed and burning calories while driving and there’s no fix for it except to take it off each time I get in the car. Very frustrating!
They added gps so you can leave the phone at home but you can’t save music on the Fitbit so you still need to carry the phone for a run.. and the gps is not very accurate. Don’t see the point, almost everyone is running with music
I wish more earbuds had internal storage like the iconX. Otherwise, having internal storage on this watch and the ability to connect earbuds would be really nice
*So what do you think? Is this the best fitness tracking band?*

Have been thinking to get one of these, but considering Fitbit is being sold to Google, I'm not sure what will happen to this tracker and besides, it can't really sync the details to Google Fit, right?
A lot of the details surrounding the google acquisition are still unknown. I don't suspect any big changes will happen for quite some time
My husband purchased me a Fitbit Charge 4 “Advance Fitness Tracker+ GPS” yesterday. I have an IPhone and downloaded the Fitbit app to my phone. But I can’t seem to find the sleep mode option on my Fitbit charge 4.. Does it matter if my Fitbit charge 4 is sync to the Fitbit app on a iPhone vs. Android phone?
do you mean the setting or the results after you sleep?
I got the Versa 2 today (still unopened). Thinking about returning it for the Charge 4. Anyone know if the step counting on the Charge 4 is as inaccurate as it is on the Versa 2?
Nice review.
Does it come with the large band? My wrist is almost 8".
Yes sir! It comes with a small and large band in the box

did your fitbit turn on with spotify downloaded? I cannot access it on my charge 4 :( they said to wait a couple days for it to update.
Mine did not, I needed to update the firmware from the Fitbit app on my phone
@@MikeOBrienMedia alright thanks for your help!
Most watches have pretty good heart rate sensors, but fail when you start running etc.
garmin and apple are really good about that!
I cant install the spoticy connect and control app on my charge 4. Ive tried everything... what firmware do you have on your charge 4?
try updating the latest firmware and the fitbit app i heard that fixed alot of peoples problems! :)
@@GadgetGreg yes, after just 2 days the firmware update jus randomly showed up in the fitbit app... i couldnt manually install/trigger the update. But now it works!
@@stevin5011 that is good!
Great review, thanks a lot for the useful info
I bought this Fitbit Charge 4 and after two months, found that it is tracking phantom steps, flights climbed and burning calories while driving and there’s no fix for it except to take it off each time I get in the car. Very frustrating!
They added gps so you can leave the phone at home but you can’t save music on the Fitbit so you still need to carry the phone for a run.. and the gps is not very accurate. Don’t see the point, almost everyone is running with music
I wish more earbuds had internal storage like the iconX. Otherwise, having internal storage on this watch and the ability to connect earbuds would be really nice
When I go to settings on my Fitbit charge 4 it has no options for sleep mode or heart zone on and off switch. Why is that?
It’s fake
