Just got one for Christmas. Not sure how to view my text message on my fitbit charge 4. My notification is on. It only shows I have a new message and it has an arrow pointing to a cell phone icon. How can I view my messages?
To be honest I only purchased Fitbit 4 to compare with my Apple Watch workout app (no extra purchases) and the aerobic machines I work out on. (Maybe an ocd issue) All 3 seem to match for the most part but the Apple Watch app much easier to use, less confusing and offers more. Got Fitbit substantially reduced otherwise I would have been disappointed. Heart rate on occasion seems quite off but usually responds correctly.
This is the first Fitbit I have used. It has some new features ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbkrje8Y7BaqRkAjimw-55ajvVo7RbcIp and I like the information that it gives me.I think the phone app could be designed to be a bit more accommodating, as it can be confusing to use. The rubber band is comfortable, and normally I do not like rubber bands for my watches, but this is comfortable.I am looking forward to seeing if this helps me stay accountable in my fitness endeavors!My only gripe is the box was very damaged when it arrived, however, the tracker is performing perfectly!
Fitness trackers tend to have fewer features than smartwatches and smaller screens, but can still do a lot of health tracking. They just can't run the same apps such as games, productivity and more like most smartwatches.

I had a Garmin Vivofit but it finally wore out after years and years and hubby gave me this Fitbit. It sat on my desk, unopened, for a month before I was okay with attempting to set it up myself. I was stunned when I realized there were zero instructions in the package and started hunting for help on the net. I found you! You saved the day!

This was a hugely helpful video! I was waffling between an apple watch se and this fitbit model... I was half convinced the apple watch must have some additional features that would make it worth the additional cost. but this complete tour convinced me that actually the fitbit has everything i would need! thank you for being so thorough in your presentation. during these covid times i have been really relying on detailed reviews online when shopping, especially on tech items.

@@ryanjensen3835 Not sure what you mean by operate, but you don’t need your phone while you exercise. The Fitbit unit will record your activity. You do need the Fitbit phone app to store and view your historical exercise results and other measurements, like hear rate, how many hours you slept, etc.

Charge 4 outlasted my so called Charge 5 upgrade (not ready for prime time). Still wearing my Charge 4 as a step counter above my ankle and Apple 8 on my wrist. July 2023

Prospective buyers need to know that new users (myself included) cannot access any of the settings up right out the box until they’ve updated the firmware. How long that will last is anybody’s guess and Fitbit does a poor job at shedding light on this: it takes 2 to 6 days of waiting around for the Fitbit to finally notify you that there’s an update available. Beyond annoying and the radio silence from Fitbit is what frustrates most.
Agreed on the radio silence - it would be much less frustrating if there was at least a modicum of communication from the fitbit folks, or even better - some in-app information in regards to how the hardware updates itself. Out of curiosity, seeing as you posted the comment here, did your fitbit update in the end? 5 days and counting here and still can't access the settings nor sync my agenda or Spotify. >_>
I thought it was a problem that i only had.. I can’t acces anything. I literally just wanted to return mine because of this problem. I guess I’ll just have to wait now..

Hi Gabo, thanks so much for watching! You can find your sleep score right on your Fitbit dashboard. If you open your Fitbit app you'll see the Fitbit dashboard. As you scroll down on that screen you'll see a purple icon with a moon and a small Z in it. It will give you a time (how many hours/minutes of sleep you got last night) and your sleep score number such as 84. If you tap on that sleep icon you'll see more details about your sleep score over several days. You can tap on a particular day and it will show you a breakdown of REM, light and deep sleep. @@TinkerForward thanks a lot for replying. I appreciate it very much. Sadly I can't send you a Screenshots to show you but, I just don't get a rate for my sleep. I just get marked where I was supposedly light sleep and sleep. That's it. 2 blue color lines. When I press on the day and chart nothing happens, like in the videos I watch, they press on the day, they come to another window, and there they see the REM in pink color, blues and so on, plus a general rate from fitbit with, 70,80,60 whatever the quality of the sleep was. I just don't have that. I'm sorry to bother you, you not even have to reply, I'll keep looking in Google and UA-cam... Fitbit page didn't help me. Take care and stay safe. Cheers!

I don’t have a lot of that stuff, for instance under notifications I only have calls, text messages, calendar events and then app notifications. I also don’t have accessories, I don’t have the gears next to apps, etc. I can’t do anything???
@@trueschrider5823 did you update the app and Fitbit? My update didn't come through for a couple days and the same thing happened with a lot of other people. Once I updated it was fine. Hope that works for you

Hey tinker forward I just got my Fitbit charge 4. And I used the gps part and off during a run and it seemed like my pace was off slower than my Fitbit charge 2 pace. Do u think it was off the pace because my first time using it? I forgot to also put dominant hand use in options but pace had me slower than my charge 2 how can I fix that u think take few try’s? Before it does pace right ?

Hi Pat, thanks for watching! No, you don't need to have fitbit premium to make changes such as the watch face. You can change the watch face by going into your fitbit app, tapping on your account icon in the upper left, then tapping on your device name on the list, then tapping on clocks (clock faces) and choosing that watch face you want. I show this at 9:01 in the video.
Thank you for yoru information packed video. However, my biggest disappointment with Charge 4 i is its very small font size. I just cannot read it. do you have any suggestions?
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't able to read the small font size. I don't know of a way that you can change any of the font sizing on the charge 4. For phones and tablets they make screen magnifiers, you could use one of those (they sell them on amazon) or search to see if there's a watch screen magnifier material that you could place right on the fitness tracker. Loved my Fitbit 2 .. worked great … but the charge 4 had a few features I liked … had my Fitbit 4 since January but the last few months My Notifications for texts and phone calls will not come up ….went through Fitbit several time rebooting and following instructions still not working correctly and also the weather and Spotify doesn’t work half the time I am so disappointed in my charge for as I have had so many features on this phone that I wanted and now due to a fluke or a Fitbit bug I can’t enjoy it
My Fitbit app says that it's synced to the charge 4 but the only this that displays on it is a message that says " download or update the Fitbit app ". I have downloaded the Fitbit app, set everything up, synced it and checked for updates, what am I doing wrong??
Hmm, you might not be doing anything wrong and it might be a glitch somewhere. I would suggest uninstalling your Fitbit app, restarting both the charge 4 and the device you are installing the app on and then reinstalling The Fitbit app on your device. Log into your Fitbit account and then see if you can connect it to your charge 4 again. If that doesn't work then I would suggest contacting Fitbit customer support to see if they can help you further. Good luck, thanks so much for watching and commenting!

yes, but you can turn it off in quick settings on the watch

Just wondering if the 4 is more reliable for syncing. My 3 would drop off or refuse to sync too often.
I haven't had any trouble syncing to my Google pixel 3.

bought one the other day. would be good device. but my battery drains in hour or less. all gps trackers are off. not sure what else i can do?

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't able to read the small font size. I don't know of a way that you can change any of the font sizing on the charge 4. For phones and tablets they make screen magnifiers, you could use one of those (they sell them on amazon) or search to see if there's a watch screen magnifier material that you could place right on the fitness tracker. Does the Charge 4 have the Find my phone feature?
I’ve been using it for about two weeks and I have not noticed that feature. Maybe a more advanced Fitbit.
Loved my Fitbit 2 .. worked great … but the charge 4 had a few features I liked … had my Fitbit 4 since January but the last few months
My Notifications for texts and phone calls will not come up ….went through Fitbit several time rebooting and following instructions still not working correctly and also the weather and Spotify doesn’t work half the time I am so disappointed in my charge for as I have had so many features on this phone that I wanted and now due to a fluke or a Fitbit bug I can’t enjoy it

My Fitbit app says that it's synced to the charge 4 but the only this that displays on it is a message that says " download or update the Fitbit app ". I have downloaded the Fitbit app, set everything up, synced it and checked for updates, what am I doing wrong??
Hmm, you might not be doing anything wrong and it might be a glitch somewhere. I would suggest uninstalling your Fitbit app, restarting both the charge 4 and the device you are installing the app on and then reinstalling The Fitbit app on your device. Log into your Fitbit account and then see if you can connect it to your charge 4 again. If that doesn't work then I would suggest contacting Fitbit customer support to see if they can help you further. Good luck, thanks so much for watching and commenting!
@@TinkerForward this simple answer just helped me to set it up. Spent a lot of time trying to sync and read this, restated my phone and it automatically took me to the set up and finally could recognize my watch and moved on. Thanks!
