Thanks for the update Andrew. That field of gleam winter wheat looks great be interesting to see the yield when it's harvested. When I worked for Dickinsons we used to collect OSR from farms in Oxfordshire for Gleadells and they stored it on Binbrook Airfield they had a large BM Volvo with a 40 foot pusher tipping 3 loads at a time in the mid eighties. Thanks again.
Good Video again Andrew, the RX is doing a grand job . Would be nice to have a settled spell of weather , so everyone can crack on with harvest. Happy Birthday for yesterday Andrew hope you had a nice day .
Still wet here in Cornwall Andrew, plenty of wb still around to cut, hopefully we get a decent back half of August and September then I can get out with my drone and see some harvesting around here, that 8rx is a hell of machine for its size in comparison to the quad track, that JCB 3cx is a really tidy example too, great update Andrew as always 👍 Cheers Lee
Andrew what a great update I am no longer farming as now retired but was at my peak 30/40 years ago so interesting listening to how farming is now compared to in my time all that red tractor stuff was never about in my day thank god .would it be possible to show us them waterlogged fields in your midweek update to see what they look like I have never seen fields in my time with so much water on them hopefully a drier week ahead .
Hope you had a good day yesterday I know plough is a dirty word would the grass ley going in to wild flowers worked down easer if the turf was turned over
Birthday greetings for yesterday Andrew, i hope you had a great day! That lovely clean field of Gleam. If the store had an auger system would that have been better and cheaper for getting the osr in Andrew or would it just be too slow?
Great looking field of Gleam, looks full of potential. Will you carry on growing with its YR issues ? What will be a good alternative to Gleam ? Kept the birthday quiet ! 🎉.
I kept my birthday quiet but Olly didn’t!!! I think we’ll carry on with gleam, YR is quite easy to control if you get it as soon as it starts. And not too costly.
There is no such thing as a quick drainage job. You just have to resign yourself to a lost week at least no matter how good your maps are.The results when it is finally fixed are always very rewarding though!
Once over after with that weapon of a solo of yours she’d be a picture am sure. Had a 180mm of rain in my area of Cumbria 7 miles away from me they’ve had an extra 20mm on blue clay
Occasionally we’ve seen it in very wet and sandy soil where a few seeds might but most fall amongst the clods and deeper than the roller goes. The rougher the surface the less chance of it happening.
Not really because some times we have 4 or 5 lorries waiting to tip and we can tip a load in each shed at the same time. A pit outside and Elevators in the roof is another way but the cost will be huge.
Totally agree, they have really stuffed up the whole country. The sooner this shower of a gov are gone the better but it’ll take years and years to undo the damage.
Very informative, some great action shots and a well produced video. Thanks Andrew

I bet that pusher took some steering!!

Thank you. This week isn’t looking settled, again.
The 8RX just looks awesome it’s got to be the best looking tractor on the market

Belated Birthday Wishes Andrew. Take care stay safe and healthy
Cheers Bob. 🍷 🎂
Hope you had a good day yesterday I know plough is a dirty word would the grass ley going in to wild flowers worked down easer if the turf was turned over
Would have looked better if ploughed first
How is plough a dirty word?
@@OOpSjm the release of captured carbon
It’ll work fine with the cultipress and the top of the field would of ploughed terribly as it’s yellow clay,
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard a lad down with us said that if he ploughed he could hook a chain to it and pull it though the gate
All good stuff
A beleted happy birthday Andrew and keep the vlogs Coming thanks again🏴👍
Thanks Alex. 🍷🎂😂
9 tons lighter than a quadtrac that’s unbelievable 👍
It's going to make the Field very muddy, when you do get out onto the fields if the weather stays like this.
Too right, and cultivating for the next crop is going to be fun too.
Birthday greetings for yesterday Andrew, i hope you had a great day!
That lovely clean field of Gleam.
If the store had an auger system would that have been better and cheaper for getting the osr in Andrew or would it just be too slow?
Thanks Robert. It would be costly to install and need a decent capacity as sometimes we can have 600 tons coming in a day but I do like the idea.
Happy birthday for yesterday Andrew ,hope you had a good day
Thank you, it was a belter!
Nice shirt Andrew
😂👌👍
happy belated birthday for yesterday, keep up the great videos
Thank you! Will do!

You believe correct, thank you!
Belated happy birthday Andrew 😊
Thank you. 🍷🎂😂
The Dutch engineers would be able to have a input into your problems . Have you any Durch farmers to speak to. ?
No. They came to Somerset in 2014 to help.
They would understand your situation better than most I,m sure worth a few calls . Good luck thanks for your vlogs .
Rob

HOW OFFTEN DO YOU USE WATER DEVINER'S ON THE FARM AND HOW SUCCESSFULL IS IT,,??????????
Only use when trying to find a pipe or drain, it usually works but not always!
Would it be less work an less spraying if you just ploughed it Andrew.
It would be more work because it would plough terrible, need lots of passes to level and be a lot more clods.
Once over after with that weapon of a solo of yours she’d be a picture am sure. Had a 180mm of rain in my area of Cumbria 7 miles away from me they’ve had an extra 20mm on blue clay
The way the rain varies within a mile or 2 is incredible.
Is there a risk that the rubber roller is picking up the seed in the sticky conditions?
Occasionally we’ve seen it in very wet and sandy soil where a few seeds might but most fall amongst the clods and deeper than the roller goes. The rougher the surface the less chance of it happening.
Would a elevator not be better for you in that shed where you store the osr?
Not really because some times we have 4 or 5 lorries waiting to tip and we can tip a load in each shed at the same time. A pit outside and Elevators in the roof is another way but the cost will be huge.
I was having a wonder. With your stewardship area, if you had raised solar panels in that area, would it still qualify as stewardship area?
no
Will you be trying a John Deere X9 this year Andrew?
No! The 8RX Hp is enough for us now.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard sorry. I meant an X9 combine harvester
🤦♂️ Sorry, my misunderstanding! Not sure yet.
Belated birthday wishes Andrew.
Thank you.
Looks like it needs the power harrow after that simba
We’ve not had one since 2002, we find the cultipress does a better job on clay soils and isn’t so destructive to the soil profile after a rain.
As usual good update. Is Water divining an art or part of pseudoscientific occult some people do have this ability no doubt? Thanks.
It’s something I don’t have the ability to do!
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard nor I
No money in growing food but tax payers money to grow flowers.
I dont blame you farmers but how crazy has this country become😢
Totally agree, they have really stuffed up the whole country. The sooner this shower of a gov are gone the better but it’ll take years and years to undo the damage.
Seems ABN are a bunch of comedians 😮🙈😐
