Thank you, most informative. However, I wear hearing aids with sever to profound hearing loss and found that listening to your video was spoiled by the unnecessary background music. Please remember that not all who listen to you have normal hearing. Closed captions are useful but it is distracting to try to read them and study the graphs. Please consider those who are deaf/hard of hearing and not only students of audiology who mostly have normal hearing. I have only ever met one audiologist who actually wore hearing aids.
How about performing masking bone and air and all the steps with a scenario there is an airbone gap or something that shows the process with the equipment applied for masking ? No videos with masking for air and bone
I have a 55 db mid frequency loss in both ears and was told the loss was "borderline severe" even though I don't really notice much of any functional impairment. Moderate loss makes a lot more sense. Thanks. My audiogram has three lines, Xs, Os, and Triangles. What does the line with the triangles mean?
Thanks for this, I had a sudden loss of hearing in my left ear about 4 months ago and have just had a hearing test. My left ear is in the range of sever and slightly dipping into profound deaf now but fortunately my right ear has adapted and improved and greater than the normal range with the exception of 4000hz where it just dips into mild deafness. MRI scan coming up to find the cause, specialist is thinking lack of blood flow to ear drum I think. This video was the most helpful I've seen.
Sir,I have right ear 40 to 50 mild hearing loss.whether it is recoverable.ENT surgeon told that ear blocked due to dry ear wax.kindly suggest treatment and opinion .Thanks and regards.
Hi, you can send your audiogram to us to find out which hearing aid would work best for you. We can be reached at www.centuryheraingaids.com. If a line stops it usually means that is where your hearing declines.
thx, finally i know how to read my audiogram 。 im 21 yrs old and i was moderate hearing loss.(audiometry check from last year AUG) i have question,if possible got the way to recovery hearing without hearing aid? im musician,i need wear headphone all the time。and now hard to mixing and balancing。。。。
I do not understand . I had test today and the lady doing test not a Doctor said my test wasn't making sense . The hearing in booth was awful but the sound waves were good . What does this mean???? Thank you and blessings
Robin, We cannot tell you what is going on since ewe did not perform the test nor have we seen the test results. You will need to talk to your ENT. If you would like your audiogram evaluated please contact us at support@centuryhearingaids.com
i have 4k notch...in my left ear...its at about 40-45db at 4kz...i feel so bad....in my right ear its at 20db for 4khz....i dont even listen to any kind of loud music nor do i work in noisy environment....dont know what could have caused this....i have this muffled hearing as if its cloggy and under water....i am wonderinig if a bad cold about 3 years back could have caused this when i woke up with an achy left ear after sleeping
Hi Linda , When you watch a youtube video see if there`s a CC (closed captions ) at the bottom RHS of your screen . I`m in the profound range & would be lost without it . Hope it works for you .
If you suffer from mild hearing loss, we have a behind the ear or in the canal hearing aid for you. Please contact us at support@centuryhearingaids.com
average the db(s) or intensities at 500,1000 and 2000hz .............that is to say add the DBs at 500,1000 and 2000hz and divide by 3.....the values you get is the PTA ....which estimates the SRT by 5db width.
You are welcome. I put this together because I had some many people asking questions. Cheers Jon
Excellent sir! Thank you very much!
Please help me

I was about to unlike the video, then the last two examples popped out. A great thing, Thanks.
Thanks for the brilliant instructions

You don't even have to hear to understand this, thank you.
Excellent and so simple to understand .... Thank you....
Thank you so much. Ive been struggling with this and you just made it too easy to be true.
Any solution for moderate frequency
Unfortunately, you have plotted dB SPL speech sounds on a dB HL audiogram, which is incorrect.
Awesome! Straight to the point!
Simple and excellent presentation.
How to interpret whether a person is having conductive / sensorinueral hrg loss with the help of audiogram???
So nicely explained in short video 👍
Thank you for this wonderful and informational video! It’s a wonderful review video to share with my students.

Thanks for the thorough guide. But sign languages are definitely NOT "visual aids", they are full languages with accompanying cultures.

Dennis, as the video explains "o" is for the right ear while "x" is for the left ear.
Very helpful 👍👍
Was really helpful...!

The answer to the question is 9 dB SPL.

Great job
That is nice, thanks 💓
Thank youuu!
Is it possible to get a -5dB result? My results show -5dB for 2000Hz
Some people are even able to hear at -10db for some frequencies, like in my case.
Wonderful!

How to calculate PTA in this ???
Please help me
average the db(s) or intensities at 500,1000 and 2000hz .............that is to say add the DBs at 500,1000 and 2000hz and divide by 3.....the values you get is the PTA ....which estimates the SRT by 5db width.
Thanks
Why PTA is not done on 8k All of you reply
8k is not that important for speech. 6k is highest which is required for speech
Very informative, Thank you!
شكرا جزيلا
the music in the background is a bit distracting tbh
Good
Is it just me or does this video has no audio?
My hearing loss goes from mild to profound at 7k Hz.
It doesn’t explain the audiogram ! What about air conduction vs bone conduction ? Very poor video

Plz help me
