Great doctor but a more amazing teacher who teaches with utmost clarity and passion. This single video is better than tens of such videos on the topic. Salute
Fantastic teacher. If all of life's teachers were like this Doc, we would have billions of students interested in their work. Keep it up Doc and Blessings on you! When a man knows what he is talking about, you do NOT just have a dry lecture!
Thanks a lot Sir.A long time since i have heard from such a good teacher worthy of real respect.God Bless.I have been watching a lot of teaching videos. This is the only one among the 4-5 ones in which i pressed the like button.
This is probably one of the best audiology instructional videos I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Dr. Venema's passion and clarity shine through, and we are not treated to yet another instructional video that would better serve as a cure for insomnia.
Thanks a lot sir.... Have been really struggling to get an idea of this topic.Even after re reading this topic from the book ,there was a big void in the comprehension of this concept..But watching your video has made my understanding very easy.U have explained the content in a very lucid way...
Most of the videos in UA-cam regarding the medical topics are not clear , They just read whatever present in the slides ,no proper explanation ,I don't understand what they are saying ,I have seen venema videos u have all the qualities of a teacher ,Missed you in my college
I just had this done today i felt all the pressure's but they did not tell me what it was. Mine was ok for an old man, but my hearing was in the tank. Now, i understand it,Thanks ,great job. See Ya
I had a stroke in 2017 and I have reason to believe a type a tympanogram was done five days after my stroke. My question is - would I need to have been aware and responsive for this test to have been done? My visitors tell me I was heavily sedated and unresponsive at the time. Just gathering information to try to convince my GP to get my hearing tested.
Has anyone ever seen tympanometry cause swelling under the eyes hours later? I had the test done yesterday in both ears and woke up this morning with swollen bags under both eyes. The left eye is worse, and it so happens she did the test twice on that ear.
I have 2 identical tympanogram results for each ear, they follow the type A pattern with even distribution, a sharp single point, however the pressure in one is +13 and the other is -73. What does this mean/imply?
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:22 🎯 *Tympanometry complements the audiogram by assessing middle ear function, especially in cases of conductive hearing loss.* 01:31 🔍 *Tympanometry is a non-behavioral, quick test often used in pediatric care to assess middle ear function and detect issues like otitis media.* 02:21 🔄 *Tympanometry measures middle ear efficiency by analyzing sound transmission through the eardrum at different air pressures.* 04:07 📊 *Tympanometry results are represented graphically (tympanogram), with variations indicating different middle ear conditions.* 07:20 💧 *Different tympanogram types (A, B, C) correspond to various middle ear conditions, such as normal, otitis media, and fluid-filled middle ear.* 09:35 🦴 *Tympanometry can also aid in diagnosing otosclerosis, where abnormal bone growth stiffens the middle ear, affecting compliance.* Made with HARPA AI
i would also pay for a course on audiometry. I would even consider dropping out of med school if it meant that you would make this course public on UA-cam
This man really is a gifted teacher. I'm taking a self-directed class where I have to teach this to myself but could not have made sense of it without this video. Thank you so much for your passion on the subject, it helped keep me engaged.

Can Dr. Venema talk about admittance vs compliance? This would be a nice talk. Admittance has an actual unit (mL), unlike compliance

true genius
Is there any risk of this test to ppl with noise induced hearing loss and hyperacusis?
Just for further understanding of this does oto-sclerosis is that then a shallow-A?
Amazing
But if sound is reflected.. how can u be sure the person is able to hear.. like what if his nerves have issue ?
Lovely
Maybe Type A mean Normal ear or sensorineural hearing loss?!!
gotta love science
you're amazing , by the way you have jack Nicholson genes, thanx ..
Please respond early!!
