  • 3 Amazing homemade tricks with balloons.
    In the first experiment I've used the liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen has a temperature of -196 degree Celsius. When cooled by liquid nitrogen, the balloon shrinks and it sinks down in the bucket. The balloon stays large because the elasticity is frozen out of it. Once the balloons start warming up you see the air expanding again and the elasticity returning.

    The first one is liquid nitrogen, right? You really should put more description on your experiments.

      SumitK The balloons are being placed in. Extremely cold water. As temperature decreases, volume decreases as they are directly proportional to each other. However, as it is placed back at room temperature, the balloons heat up and the volume expands

      @bretagnejean2410 6 років тому

      P.V =n.R.T so pressure x volume is proportionnal to temperature.

      The air is bouncing inside of the Balloon's walls. As you cool the air inside you are slowing the air (you are taking it's energy) - The walls of the balloon will start to close in because now the air is not bouncing against the ballon's walls as hard (this is called air pressure). The liquid they are using to cool down the balloon is liquid nitrogen (and not cold water). The person below gave you Boyle's law (or the ideal gas law). Nothing more than a formula which says that pressure AND volume go down as temperature goes down and vice versa.

      @numnum7237 5 років тому

      @@guilloboi the pressure decreases, the volume in the ballon, although now flat, remains the same, in other words volume is a constant in this scenario.

      What is the liquid used for balloon? In the very first experiment?

    • @MarkJones
      @MarkJones 6 років тому +6

      Akanksha Saxena: Liquid nitrogen. It super cools the air in the balloon making it appear to deflate, actually the gas is shrinking because of the temperature. The balloon stays large because the elasticity is frozen out of it. Once the balloons start warming up you see the air expanding again and the elasticity returning.

      Air escaping? The right and left balloons have the same air volume around. In fact air in the balloon is over pressure that air putside. So in the same volume this air have more o2 or azote molecule , so he is more heavy.
