- Join me as I tour one of the best hunting properties that I have ever had the pleasure of walking. With me is my good friend Trevor, who has been meticulously managing his hunting lands and has successfully harvested several 4.5+ year old bucks. We do some shed hunting and uncover a mystery in the field...
Thing we cover:
- How to create a mock scrape even without a tree where you want it
- Passing young bucks leads to better hunting
- Creating bedding areas to encourage a line of movement you can hunt
- Food plot architecture to get deer where you want them
- Screening for stand access
- The power of sanctuaries and funnels for mature bucks

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 5 1/2 year old buck in person let alone up close. That’s wild how big they can get. Awesome management, hope to get to that point some day!
You and me both! #goals
@@NextStepOutdoors I did get my oldest deer last year. I’m fairly confident he was 3.5 years old. It had the same exact odd shape as one I passed two years ago as a small 6.
3.5 is a great buck in most states!
@@NextStepOutdoors hoping to keep the train rolling with older bucks at least on private land. I have yet to shoot a public land buck which is my biggest goal this year so I’d be happy with anything 7 point or bigger there. Just to get some public land experience.
Great planning!! Management at its finest!!
It’s super cool to see! Someday I hope to own some land and be able to do that type of stuff…
@@NextStepOutdoors me too
Next step outdoors never disappoints
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I appreciate that so much
@@NextStepOutdoors of course your one of my favorite youtubers
Another fire upload 🔥
Appreciate you buddy!
Pretty cool!
Thanks man!
So I am wanting to get into Saddle hunting. I am a new subscriber and have watched all of your videos on it and it has made me feel more comfortable with my decision in moving forward. My question to you is what saddle would you recommend? I am wanting something that has the pouches on it so I can keep everything with it. Any help would be great! Thank you for all of your videos!!
This is the one that I use and would recommend. They are super light and dead silent.

@@NextStepOutdoors Well based on your recommendation I purchased that kit last night and I went ahead and purchased the X-Wing as well. I think that the only thing left that I have to buy to be set up is the climbing sticks. Unfortunately I have to wait and save a little more for those. Thanks for the reply and advice! Keep up the great work with the videos, can't wait for the next one.
@@SteveOpg22 I hope you love them as much as I do! I'll keep the saddle content rolling so hopefully as you get into it, you can overcome any obstacles along the way!
