I discovered Diff'rent Strokes last week. Plenty of people hasn't learned nothing after 46 years. Family is not about blood, family is about love. She gave two children a loving home and made sure they be together, not separated. I am adopted myself.. I never thought about the fact that we have different skin tones when I was growing up. My parents are my parents :)

Bri volunteered to open her home to kids in need. She took in these sisters because they happened to be the ones she was asked for help with. Seems like a sweet person who would have welcomed any baby, black, white, Asian, Latino, and loved them regardless, and that's the right attitude to have. Ryder and Londyn seem loved and happy

But I think what a lot of people don't seem to understand is that there is a such thing as biracial families too depending on who their child(ren) take after. An example: A black woman who married a white man (1 child may be pure white due to taking after their dad's side while the other child may be black no matter how light or dark their skin tone is from taking after the mother's side). Honestly, she shouldn't have had to explain herself like that because in real reality, it's no one else's business except for her and her own family's business. Like she said at the end, it's better to ask Questions First. I understand why some people don't want to ask questions first & that's because they scared of what they're going to ask might hurt their feelings in some form or way. Oh my gosh. This is soo beautiful. A 24 year old fostering a new born and then going on to adopt her and her sister. Most 24 year olds are not thinking about that at all. Big ups to this young lady for providing a future for these babies.

Wow, I'm shocked by the number of likes and zero comments! I don't dispute that adoptive mom is MOM, but we have no idea what the circumstances were with their bio mom. One of the hardest and most selfless things you can do is place your child for adoption. Yes, it sounds like social services were involved. However, people are too quick to assume that bio mom is a bad person. Let's please show some love and compassion for the woman who carried these beautiful babies and her heartache. While praising the beautiful woman who is their mother. ❤
She’s being an amazing mother for the girls as she knows best. But don’t ever say she’s a better mom than the mother or better in general than mom who gave them up. Comment on the immediate not the past you don’t have a clue about. The circumstances that lead to the children being given up is not for you to comment. You look after those girls as best as possible and ignore the fools who seem to be blind to the world we live in that children need love, care and attention no matter who can give it. ❤
@@Mrskay04 she is a caregiver she is not a mom you only get one mother. I have loved other children as much as my own kids and some were a good deal easier to love than my own children. And I have been loved by many women growing up. Certainly not by the one who removed my real mother from my birth certificate and then admitted after I had put EVERYTHING I had into the relationship when I was 15 Kathy finally admitted to me that she always felt like she had been raising another woman's child. Joke is on her because although I look in the face like my mother except for the blue eyes and I sound exactly like her I am nothing like my mother. Anyway I have had to extrapolate all of that from what my family tells me because she died before I could meet her. She and I most likely would not have even gotten along. However she is my mother not all of the women who have loved me in passing. There are very few things in this life that are not replaceable and your mother and father are a non transferable non replaceable relationship. Reality sucks but the truth is better than a lie.

I was a foster mom. Part of the deal with the agency I was with is that you must be open to children from ALL ethnicities. You can't help which children you'll fall in love with.

As a foster mother in MI its hard enough to keep siblings together! Them getting adopted together is the ultimate blessing! Altho i hate that we leave our kids in the system my home is open to all kids that need a safe home! Race or gender isnt important to me.
And, she is not exploiting them! She is showing the world that they are dressed nicely, fed, hair is not a messed. She makes sure they go to daycare of school looking to the tea! Show us girl on how to be a great mom!

I wish I had mom.I grew up in the foster care system and moved home to home. At the end of the day, I didn't care if they were black white Hispanic, I just want someone to love and care for me. I'm happy that these two beautiful little girls have amazing adopted.Mom, ❤️

I'm adopted as well. My twin sister, me, and my brother were 6 and 7 and reunited into the same home. Our adopted mom died 6 months after the adoption was finalized so we were raised by a single dad that I'll love forever. We're black and my parents were black but I was ridiculed because my skin color was so much darker than my siblings. I had the best dad in the world and lost him when I was 37 years old.

I'm a foster and adoptive mom. I knew they were adopted immediately because in some areas you cannot expose children that are not legally yours online. Personally, I have never posted one picture or video of my littles online and never will. It should be up to them to decide when they are old enough to understand AND consent if they want that kind of exposure. So for me, I'm not with what Bri is doing. That said, I'm glad the kids are healthy and happy and I'm glad that as siblings they are able to stay together. I do not care whether she's Black and they're not, as long as they remain happy, healthy, loved, and secure.

@@FreeToLove999 it is a similar line of thinking; though most if not all child TV and movie stars have release forms to appear on camera and contracts in place, while I'm less inclined to believe that's the case for children on social media. And we have more tales of former child stars who have come out and said that they felt exploited by their parents and how that led to some destructive behaviors as they grew up. I doubt that the criticism has only to do with the fact that she is a woman of colour. Children should not be used for content. Personally, I see the problem mainly with white women/families and have been criticizing it for years. Accordingly, I will not change my opinion just because she has a different skin colour. I think it’s absolutely wonderful that there’s families that are willing and wanting to take in children that have been put into custody of the state. I’m actually the caretaker of my amazing granddaughter , And I’m being certified to become licensed to take in other children. It saddens me to see and hear about all the children that are getting pulled from their homes and their families. Life is tough to begin with… Never mind being taken and then sometimes the children get moved from home to home. Some caregivers are just interested in the paycheck and they aren’t interested in making the child feel loved and comfortable and wanted… If I could afford or had the room I’d take in many children. My husband is white, and with his 1st wife, they adopted 2 brothers who happened to be black. He is an amazing dad. Their adopted mother passed away when they were 11 and 12, and their dad has been there for them unconditionally. Both of his sons are on their own happy and each with 2 kids. His 2 sons were born the same year, and they are 10 months apart. When they were 16 and 17, they wanted to know about their biological family. We found them, they met them, and now they see why they were put up for adoption. They love their dad and are forever thankful for the life that he gave them. His sons are now 31 and 32 years old.

Bri volunteered to open her home to kids in need. She took in these sisters because they happened to be the ones she was asked for help with. Seems like a sweet person who would have welcomed any baby, black, white, Asian, Latino, and loved them regardless, and that's the right attitude to have. Ryder and Londyn seem loved and happy

@@Stanfordmom- It's very sad she's getting backlash for doing the right thing. It's awesome that she adopted her daughters from foster care. But I think what a lot of people don't seem to understand is that there is a such thing as biracial families too depending on who their child(ren) take after. An example: A black woman who married a white man (1 child may be pure white due to taking after their dad's side while the other child may be black no matter how light or dark their skin tone is from taking after the mother's side). Honestly, she shouldn't have had to explain herself like that because in real reality, it's no one else's business except for her and her own family's business. Like she said at the end, it's better to ask Questions First.
I understand why some people don't want to ask questions first & that's because they scared of what they're going to ask might hurt their feelings in some form or way. Oh my gosh. This is soo beautiful. A 24 year old fostering a new born and then going on to adopt her and her sister. Most 24 year olds are not thinking about that at all. Big ups to this young lady for providing a future for these babies.

One of the hardest and most selfless things you can do is place your child for adoption. Yes, it sounds like social services were involved. However, people are too quick to assume that bio mom is a bad person. Let's please show some love and compassion for the woman who carried these beautiful babies and her heartache. And I have been loved by many women growing up. Certainly not by the one who removed my real mother from my birth certificate and then admitted after I had put EVERYTHING I had into the relationship when I was 15 Kathy finally admitted to me that she always felt like she had been raising another woman's child. Joke is on her because although I look in the face like my mother except for the blue eyes and I sound exactly like her I am nothing like my mother. Anyway I have had to extrapolate all of that from what my family tells me because she died before I could meet her. She and I most likely would not have even gotten along. However she is my mother not all of the women who have loved me in passing. There are very few things in this life that are not replaceable and your mother and father are a non transferable non replaceable relationship. Reality sucks but the truth is better than a lie.
A mother is the woman who take care of the kids. You love your kids and they love you.

I was a foster mom. Part of the deal with the agency I was with is that you must be open to children from ALL ethnicities. You can't help which children you'll fall in love with.

As a foster mother in MI its hard enough to keep siblings together! Them getting adopted together is the ultimate blessing! Altho i hate that we leave our kids in the system my home is open to all kids that need a safe home! Race or gender isnt important to me.

I'm adopted as well. My twin sister, me, and my brother were 6 and 7 and reunited into the same home. Our adopted mom died 6 months after the adoption was finalized so we were raised by a single dad that I'll love forever. We're black and my parents were black but I was ridiculed because my skin color was so much darker than my siblings. I had the best dad in the world and lost him when I was 37 years old.

I'm a foster and adoptive mom. I knew they were adopted immediately because in some areas you cannot expose children that are not legally yours online.
Personally, I have never posted one picture or video of my littles online and never will. It should be up to them to decide when they are old enough to understand AND consent if they want that kind of exposure. So for me, I'm not with what Bri is doing.
That said, I'm glad the kids are healthy and happy and I'm glad that as siblings they are able to stay together. I do not care whether she's Black and they're not, as long as they remain happy, healthy, loved, and secure.

@@FreeToLove999 it is a similar line of thinking; though most if not all child TV and movie stars have release forms to appear on camera and contracts in place, while I'm less inclined to believe that's the case for children on social media.
And we have more tales of former child stars who have come out and said that they felt exploited by their parents and how that led to some destructive behaviors as they grew up. Jennette McCurdy from iCarly, for example, titled her recent memoir "I'm Glad My Mom Died"😳

As a adoptee I thank you so much. This made me tear up. I am mexican/puerto rican and my adopted parents are white. I never felt like i wasnt apart of them. People are actually amazed when they dund out im adopted because they think im just like my mother. I take pride in that. I think it’s absolutely wonderful that there’s families that are willing and wanting to take in children that have been put into custody of the state.

Some caregivers are just interested in the paycheck and they aren’t interested in making the child feel loved and comfortable and wanted…

My husband is white, and with his 1st wife, they adopted 2 brothers who happened to be black. He is an amazing dad. Their adopted mother passed away when they were 11 and 12, and their dad has been there for them unconditionally. Both of his sons are on their own happy and each with 2 kids. His 2 sons were born the same year, and they are 10 months apart. When they were 16 and 17, they wanted to know about their biological family. We found them, they met them, and now they see why they were put up for adoption. They love their dad and are forever thankful for the life that he gave them. His sons are now 31 and 32 years old.
These girls are so freaking cute❤❤way to go mom. Young, black, and caring.
