@@jaykrishnan235 Did u mean mammoottys English will be a problem? Haven't u seen any of Mammoottys old English interviews? Nd by the by in his old channel BR has interviewed Mohanlal. So definitely I don't think it will be an issue with relating to communication..

Jayaram was one of the most underrated and under-utilised actors of his generation. He still is. I remember walking out of the theatres watching Thenali and felt, crap, Kailash is the hero. How many actors have we seen outperform the legend KH?
I just hope good actors like Jayaram and Kalidas have a career path that allows them to shine for their qualities. I didn’t watch the entire paava kadhaigal series. I stopped with Saththar- didn’t want to lose the effect.. amazing work, keep them coming Kalidas!

He probably expected some treatment due to this father at that point. Even now his approach to acting is "his choice" of roles, movies and he can only do the job if he can connect to character. None of the other actors from malayalam cinema who are insiders are approaching their work that way or even outsiders. They're all doing characters and movies that are not in their comfort zone. He's like mohanlals son pranav where only if movies are perfect for them then they'll do it. In that case lots of actors will come up while he's only sticking to certain types of roles.
@@jaykrishnan235 he is 28 years old. Let’s stop analysing every single statement they make. They are still finding their feet and words. Give them time and space. Knee jerk comments from social media hurts talent and morale.. just enjoy their work, and support where we can..

This guys is really a great actor. The guy next door. He speaks from the heart irrespective of being a star kid.
Hope he stays long in this industry & grow as a great actor/superstar.
PS: My personal opinion, I had seen his first tamil movie ( Meen Kuzlambu Maan pannai ) out of lot expectation as I like his father very much, may be if it worked, for sure he might be a A list young actor at this point of time. Such a amazing talent.!

Little disappointed with BR about not mentioning about Parvathy who was already an established actress in malayalam before Jayaram .Please do not downplay Parvathys contribution to cinema pls just because she choose to be a home maker after marriage.

I was blown away by his role as sathar. I always knew he had the potential... And iam damn sure that he will comeback in malayalam cinema with a bang at the right time with the right subject
What he said about Jayaram is right. He he is not good at selecting movies and updating himself in acting. He overacts and has become misfit in Malayalam movies now. But he was lucky to earlier days with strong support from good writers like Padmarajan ,Lohitadas etc
i love both the father and son. such a down to earth people. kalidas has so much of talent. Lokesh kanagaraj and sudha kongra have really utilised him with good characters. I'm just waiting for his next project with more scope and screen space. Good luck kalidas...
Loved him portrayal of Sathar in Thangam (Paava Kadhaigal). He played Sathar with such heart breaking innocence that you just root for Sathar's happiness.

There's something earthy and real about this guy...i could bump into him at a mall and mistake him for anyone else.. Keep that honesty bro.. It will take you places.. And don't get carried away by these benchmarks others set for you.. Absolutely loved the "nadikka theriyumngara thimiru"

I always have this feeling of him being brought up in trial rooms(like what anurag kashyap said about star kids) without real experiences. I'm not saying that's the case. But he gives that feel. The mild manner, or soft ways or something.. Even Dulquer.
They are very hard working. Like the kid on first row of a class. He gets easily selected for the drama. He puts all his efforts, but the best performer(a natural) will be the backbencher..
Such a sweet young boy....pavam paiyan and also an amazing actor........hope to see many wonderful works from him.

Your interviews sound alike to an IT job interviews where you ask for an example about the answer told and you take lead from the answers. You push the actors and make them uncomfortable by asking some direct questions which not many can do. Good stuff.

Hi Kalidas I always loved u when u were a child actor in malayalam. I am sure you will get a great break in malayalam cinema. Please don't lose hope dear. Good cinema needs you and we need you to work in all language cinemas specially want to c u in good malayalam and tamil movies always. Ignore the trollers as ur talent is way way beyond these useless jobless trollers. More power to you boss. 💪 being a permanent good actor is anytime better than a tenporary fading star

avoid expressing boldly your inner feeling about your bad choosed films in initial stages, because in film industry no one is permanent talent, who did ploffs will prepare super hit in future, so avoid hurting others, act humble that is very essential attitude in industry.
Otherwise It's damage your future, how? Previous directors rejects you further and other directors also rejects for cautionary act so learn your father he walked upon thrones and glass pieces but he appreciates and say only good about every one
So appreciate everyone talent and tell I was in very learning stage and still learning so got some slow growth other than I met very Tallent directors and whole teams, it will become life changing dialogue in your carrier

Underrated actor
I think this guy is a big Ajith fan. There is a lot of Ajith in him. From facial expressions to body language.
His father was a leading hero in Malayalam & a supporting artist in Tamil. Kalidas seem to be projecting the same roles for himself in both languages. His parents were the Suriya-Jyothika of Malayalam, 30 years back. Plus he won a national award as a 6 year old in Malayalam. So he was expecting instant acceptance in Malayalam, which didn't happen & seems to have disappointed him a lot. Argentina movie(& lot of others)was bad & he let go off movies like Virus cos he didn't want to be part of an ensemble cast. He proclaimed on this interview itself that he can act very well in Tamil & blamed his bad movies on his directors. No wonder Malayalam industry & audience don't want to see this whiny star kid.
Exactly! I’ve often wondered why extremely talented Malayalam actors doing very well in Malayalam, go to Tamil industry & play second fiddle to some mediocre actors there. Kalidas must’ve made his displeasure known to the Malayalam filmmakers, that’s probably why they let him go. If he thinks Tamil is doing for him what Malayalam isn’t, he should certainly suit himself🤷🏻♀️

He's not capable of doing justice to malayali characters. Because he doesn't speak proper malayalam. And he's don't know the Nativity of the character which he has done because he's not born and brought up in kerala. He's only capable to do character roles in Tamil.
But I felt Mr.& Mrs Rowdy was a good film..it had some nice comic moments. But the trailer and all it was not catchy. it didn't catch any attention.
Oh man..sorry. I was so shocked that it was jeethu joseph movie. Story was so weak
I also want to point out it was Aparna Balamurali’s movie more than Kalidas’s! She did better job than him.
