Hi Chloe. It's great to see you out. From experience -5 feels better than +1. Pick up some hand warming pads, put them in your socks, fluff up the sleeping bag, something hot before you get in your pit for the night, a drink, or porridge. A single wall steel water bottle, filled with hot water in your bag, plus use a bag liner, it makes a difference. I think you need to try again, but when it is colder, which means drier, just make sure you can bail if it does get beyond what you are able to cope with. Finally, you won't like this..... Get used to the cold, tee shirts when it is cool, build up a resistance, honestly it works. Minus 11 In TW at 06.50 Friday when I left for Wales, you flew North too soon... :)) Stay safe.
Paul, you have convinced me to try again, thank you so much! I was feeling a little sad to be honest after this camp, as while I didn't plan to camp as regularly during winter, I was really hoping to experience it. Those tips are absolute gold dust and I'd love to experience a real wintry snowy camp, I can only imagine they would feel quite magical I was warm enough. I'm going to bave to ask santa for your suggested gear. Crikey, that's cold! It's been baltic recently all across the UK hasn't it. Fancy flying north it and it being milder! All the best Paul :)
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Thanks Chloe, Please don't be sad, we all have less than positive experiences, they are just learning opportunities. There are some great tipsin the comments. @@paultaylor5266 Such a great way to look at it, really good attitude. I learn so much more from the trips that don't go as well, and as you say, it's resulted in so many great tips, I feel really inspired to go out again better prepared. I really like the idea of cooking outside, I've never done anything like that before and it's always appealed. Thank you Paul - I hope you have a wonderful Christmas too :)
Hello Cloe Rose, just came across another one of your great videos. It is sad to see so much litter left behind, this not only mars the countryside but also takes away the feeling of isolation from the city. A very sad indictment on society. The carving on the tree is also sad to see, cutting the bark (which by the way never grows back) allows the entry of diseases and can kill the tree. It's nice to see that you are not a 'fair-weather' tramper, it's good to go out in all weathers, to feel the cheeks flush, the pace quicken, the excitement of the coming evening, the lips around the hot mug of tea, the bed under countless stars. Yes, this wild camping at its finest, from which one gains experience and a toughness of spirit and soul. The puff ball fungi were fun to watch, we have the birdcage fungi over here, it snaps off in the wind and rolls along the ground dispensing its spores. Sorry, that on this trip you never got to see the snow but judging by your comments about 'feeling the cold' perhaps it was a good thing. Over here some of our mountain ranges have eternal snow but that can be a challenge to get to. Well, that's all from me, enjoyed the video, ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ 😀😀
It is very sad isn't it. I find it's even sadder when you consider the complexity that it was actually a sign that young people had been choosing to spend time in nature and outdoors, which is so rare these days (at least, where I live), yet when they do, they seem to have no respect or manners towards the environment... albeit, I can't really blame them, as it is definitely more a reflection back on society itself and the world they have been brought up in. I've been back to that spot since, to clear it up, and actually found all the rubbish gone. I don't know who cleaned it up, but it was a lovely gesture. Yes you are right, I felt disappointed about the lack of snow at the time, but perhaps it saved me from a worse fate! I definitely need to upgrade my kit for next winter if I want to try colder camping again. All the best 😀
That is very, very true.... and a great reminder to hear. Perhaps I need to kit up even better and give it another go before I swear it off for winter completely, thanks Raymond! I hope you are well :)
I would explore and never get bored. I make bone jewlery from salvaged animal bones. I'm 46 and just starting my new wildcamping adventure. I hope to find lots of bones in the places I choose to camp around Scotland. I'm feeling so many emotions and lots of anxiety. You're so brave and have so much life ahead of you to learn about wildcamping ( how to stay warm) 🤭 and enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy friend ❤
This is the third video of yours i have watched since this morning. I can sympathise with you in the cod temperatures, I almost started to shiver myself. Thanks for taking the time to produce another must watch video. Take care.
Hey Dave! Yes... the cold was definitely not my friend this time around. I think I'll need to upgrade my gear for next winter if I want to try that again. I like to camp because it's fun, but this was swinging the other way! All the very best to you :)
Chloe, another enjoyable video, did you eat calorific food / drinks before sleeping, use a Nalgene bottle full of hot water, or a hot water bottle as a sleeping bag warmer? These can make all the difference to your level of comfort. The abundance of lichen was good to see, the discarded plastic waste caught in more than one shot, less so. In regard to ideas for videos, any information and images of wild or plant life, local geology would be good to see / learn about. Just go on what you deem to be an interesting day out, and take us along!
Great points Mike... yes to calorific food (albeit, that wasn't intentional, so I am squirreling that top tip away), no to any external source of heat. Such a good point, perhaps I should try again with something like that. The plastic waste wasn't great was it... I always feel very torn when I see it, because it's nice to know that kids are outside playing which seems a rarity now, but the mess they leave is upsetting and dangerous for the local wildlife. I'm planning to go back with a bin liner and collect it all, albeit I suspect it'll soon build up again. Thanks so much for the tips, and for letting me know what you'd be interested in seeing - I will happily take you along on an interesting day out! All the best to you :)
I'd never made the connection between Pheasants & Velociraptors until now but you are so right lol - it's exactly the same ! Where else could we learn such things except with our Chloe 😆Credit to you for going camping in those temperatures, bet it was lovely getting home & warm. I've loved all your video's but I quite like the one's where you've gone exploring & just observing nature - my favourite being the one where you went to Amberley. Whatever content you put out will be fine; your enthusiasm, talent & knowledge are what makes them so engaging. Have a wonderful Xmas xx
Once seen, it cannot be unseen! It was particularly lovely returning home after this trip I have to say! Really lovely to hear you like my exploring/nature based ones... I think that's what I most enjoy making some of the time, but they are often not as popular as other video styles. Thank you so much Michael. It's been so lovely getting to know you this year. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas x
Brilliant to see you give a winter wild camp a go, even if it's not 100% for you!! Happy to watch anything you'd like to share...would definitely watch any hikes you go on.
Aw bless you Chloe! "This is the least fun camping i've had. I was getting concerned at the beginning of this incase you had ideas of trying out a homemade igloo. There's no shame in not camping at this time of year at all, what you have done on these adventures has been amazing. I would be happy just to watch your hill walking expeditions and field trips ect. Wonderful to see our native red squirrel also; been a long time since I have seen any now I am in the Scottish Borders and the greys have all but pushed them so far north! Just you stay safe and stay warm it's getting a tad cold just now. Thank you again for a well edited video and the music was lovely on this. (what was it?) Oh and shame on those who left their trash behind. God bless and Keep you!
If I had any ideas about trying out a homemade igloo, it's only because you sowed the seeds!! I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the red squirrel, it really was the highlight of that trip for me. Up until then I'd only seen a couple dead beside the road which was not nice to see... so I knew they were in the area, but I'd never spotted one until then. There were actually two running around! But I only captured the one. Yes they are so far north now! Before that one, the only others I've ever seen were in the Lake District, where a tiny pocket remains but they are always at great risk from the greys which surround them. I get all my music from a site called Epidemic Sounds - the songs were 'Colours of the Moon, Mandala Dreams', 'Amanacer, El Neon', 'Stay in Orbit, Victor Lundberg', and 'Intospective, Gabriel Lewis' :) Lovely to hear you would enjoy my hill walking trips, I love doing those. Thank you so much Daniel, all the very best to you!

Great vid Chloe, winter camping is hard lol, if it's not for you and you don't enjoy it don't do it, no point do something that you'll dread doing, it's supposed to be fun and enjoyable at the end of the day 😉👍
Such great advice, thank you Mick! I haven't done a camp since this one and still don't feel inspired too yet... I'm cold enough in my own house haha. I think with better kit it would be a lot more enjoyable, but that requires money and time to build up. I look forward to the day I can winter camp and love it, but for now, I may have to bide my time!
Oh Chloe! I had to grab my blanket whilst watching 😄 I felt your cold. It was a lovely video to watch but oh how I felt sorry for you that you were so cold and damp. I do hope you'll get to see the snow on one of your next ones. As for what videos we'd like to see, we like all you make. Love choosing to spend time with you on your adventures. Stay warm and have a Happy Christmas 🥰
I'm just glad to hear one of us was cosy 😂 The snow has fallen thick and heavy in the Cairngorms now, so hopefully in my next video I can show you a winter wonderland! I am actually back in Sussex now for Christmas, and couldn't believe the snow I arrived to! Did you get it where you are? Thank you so much Lynn, that's lovely to hear... I love taking you along with me :) Stay warm too! And I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 😊
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Haha, yes, I was, but I was with you, feeling your pain. It will be lovely to see your next video with all the snow up there. We just had a dusting of snow here last week, nothing like north of The Downs. Hope you had your camera out! 🙂 Thank you, enjoy your family time x
You really are getting into this camping out thing. Snow, cold, nothing holds you back! 😀 Keep it up. It's lovely to listen to a mild mannered young English lady.
It has definitely taken root! It's been the most unexpected and also the most wonderful thing I have discovered this year. Historically the cold has definitely held me back, but I want to give it a good go this year! Thank you so much for joining me on my mini adventures Timmy :)
Good effort in getting yourself out again Chloe, especially in this prolonged cold snap we’ve had just recently here in the UK! I don’t like the cold weather much either to be honest, but I’m still going to continue my wild camping over the winter months I’ve decided, as I too am chasing that elusive snow camp..☃️ So I’ve beefed up on my winter gear - and splashed out on a 6.9 R-value sleeping pad, and a -7 down filled sleeping bag. I did really want to stick with a synthetic bag, but they are just not up to the sub-zero camps I’m afraid, despite there claimed comfort rating! I tested my two new items out by camping in the garden (in my 4-season tent) a few nights ago when it went down to -5, and I stayed warm enough throughout the night, so they passed the test… now I’m all ready for that snowy overnighter. 😊
Thank you, I really appreciate that. It's been a wee bit chilly hasn't it!!! Really good on you for keeping on with camping this winter... you're tempting me to give it more goes now. Lots of people have given me the tip to try again with a hot water bottle or something of the like, so I feel drawn to try again. Your gear sounds great... my sleeping bag is synthetic, and like you I'd like to change to down. Just need to save up a fair few pennies for that! Super interesting to hear that your gear stood up to the test in your garden in that cold - when you find the snow, I'd love to hear how you found the camp!
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Yes I shall keep you posted on how I get on for sure..👍🏻 The Lake District is looking likely the best place to for me to find it! ❄️❄️ I’m pleased to hear your willing to give it another go… I also take the cheap disposable hand warmers with me on my cold camps, they stay warm for 8hrs and make a real difference when you chuck a couple of them down the bottom of your sleeping bag, you could also try a thermal liner inside your bag too, which again is a much cheaper way of adding extra thermal resistance against the cold, to your current set-up.
@@Ash12530 Ah the Lake District... now that's not a bad place to get a winter camp in! I'd love to experience that too. I've only been to the Lakes once in my whole life, but I fell in love instantly. I'd love to see it in winter. Those hand warmers are a great idea, not sure why I didn't clock that myself. I often take them on cold hikes with me for my gloves. Love the idea of a thermal liner - since I can't afford a new expensive sleeping bag, a liner seems a really good route to go down. Hopefully we both might have snow camping stories to trade sometime this winter!
Hi Chloe, first time commenting and a new subscriber. I have been watching all your older vlogs too, and we are not too far from each other, when you used to live down south that is! I’m just in Hampshire! Thanks so much for giving me so many new places to explore! Especially Knepp Rewilding, I’ll be camping there soon! Thanks so much for sharing your videos, it’s such an encouragement as someone who fears doing things alone, it’s a goal this year to camp solo once, not a wild one, but still solo and it’s a huge step!! Anyhow I’m rambling, just thank you for your vlogs, absolutely love them and you are just such a sweet soul! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you and your family a Happy New Year 🎊 and lots more adventures!! x Candy x
Candy, thank you so much, this was such an amazing message to receive! I have family in Hampshire so I know it very well! So many lovely places around to explore. It was watching other women's videos of their camping adventures that inspired/built up my courage to try it alone, so it's really lovely to hear that I might be able to pass that on a bit and help you. It certainly doesn't need to be 'wild', I really hope you can make that happen! I think the best advice I got was to try it first in a place you know or already feel comfortable with - the less unknowns the better for the nerves. Let me know if you do do one, and enjoy Knepp!!! Absolutely one of my favourite places to camp. Happy New Year to you too, I hope it's full of all the things you love 🎊 x
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Hi Chloe, so wonderful to hear from you! I hope alls well up in beautiful Scotland? I have now watched all your videos, including a couple twice 😂 so I’m eagerly awaiting a new one as I’m sure all your UA-cam family are! Since learning about the area I have been so taken by it’s history and have watched many a talk/seminar about it, I’m so excited to be there, and hope to hear the Nightingales as we go in April! Working on planning the solo camp, thank you for the advice too, that’s brilliant advice and something which will be so important, just hope I can find the courage not only to go on camps but also hikes/walks. I spent a few weeks down south near you over Christmas though and I don't think I saw blue sky the whole time... it was just grey and rainy, so I relate to your stupid weather comment 😂 Ahh April will be such a lovely time to be there! Have you heard Nightingales before? Such a rare sound these days, but so beautiful... Knepp is definitely one of the best places around to hear them. You can also hear the bill clattering of the storks from the campsite, the sound travels for miles and is amazing! Have a great week too ☺ x
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Hi Chloe, how’s your weekend been? I'll ask and see if I can give you some intel. Even without that though the dawn chorus at Knepp at that time of year will be amazing!x
i love watching hiking videos maybe a little content on the locality, it's history etc, I love wild camping but more emphasis on the hike or trail maybe? But a great video yet again Chloe.
Thanks Kevin :) I love the idea of focusing on things like local history and the trail more... that actually interests me just as much as camping, if not more a lot of the time, so I'd love to share that more if people like you were interested. Thank you for taking the time to watch and speak with me, all the best to you :)
@@ChloeRoseHarrison the wild camping give us the freedom and expands my thoughts especially in those boring moments, much like the hike! @@kevins9417 I feel exactly the same way! Knowing the history of the place I am exploring always makes me feel more connected to the land too, which really increases my enjoyment of it all. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas too Kevin!
Hi Chloe, I hope you're well. If you do want to get into cold weather camping, you might want to consider a smaller tent. You mentioned that you have a decent sleep mat and bag but a smaller tent can make a big difference as there's less space to warm up. You don't have to spend a fortune, something like the OEX bobcat or similar. What sleeping bag and mat are you using? A cheap rechargeable hand warmer is a great item to pop into your sleeping bag so you're not getting into it cold.
I've actually had my eye on a smaller tent and was hoping to have saved enough up to get one soon, so fingers crossed I'll have that in the not too distant future. Mat is a thermarest neoair, sleeping bag couldn't tell you off the top of my head... it is a Mountain Warehouse on brand one, it's meant to be able to hack super cold temperatures but it's synthetic not down and not one of the top brands, so I reckon there's definitely room for improvement there. It just means spending a lot of money! Love the idea of hand warmers, I think that would have made a massive difference... thanks Andy.
@ChloeRoseHarrison no probs, definitely look at changing your sleeping bag when you can. Less expensive brands are renowned for exaggerating R values. I've got a Rab Ascent 1100 for winter and Alex uses my Mammut bag that I use for the rest of the year as she finds it plenty warm enough.
@@andylittlebritain7680 I was worried that might be the case... perhaps that needs to be the next big ticket item I save up for then. I'd actually bookmarked a Rab Ascent, they look fab.
@ChloeRoseHarrison love mine, I'm a cold sleeper so also have a Sea to Summit Etherlite XT Extreme mat. A bit OTT but it's proper comfy and warm. You'd probably get away with something less expensive being younger than my old bones. 😂
Another great video! Shame you didn't have such a great camp or any snow. Don't mean to rub it in but us down yer in Devon had a good dusting which is a bit of a rarity. I'm sure you'll be back soon and put us too shame with lots of snow! 👍
Thank you! Rub it in all you want, when you get snow in a place that doesn't normally get it, you've got to milk it for all it's worth! 😂 Funnily enough a few days after I filmed this video I flew back down to Sussex, and we had the snow here too! Couldn't believe it. The Highlands are now covered in deep snow though, it's a real winter wonderland...
Awesome Clo, I know you aren’t great with the cold. Hot food and hot chocolate before bed, a Sigg bottle or mini hot water bottle of hot water to cuddle, and a bag liner, they work, and sleep in your thermal layer and put you clothes rolled up in the toe end of you sleeping bag so you can get dressed in the morning! Film and post what makes you happy, if you’re happy, we’re happy! ❤️x
It's not my strongest suit, that's very fair to say! Absolutely love the tips... I reckon I'm going to need to put a hot water bottle on my Christmas list! I'm definitely willing to give it another go if I'm trying out new tips that could help, as I still really love the idea of winter camping. Ooo clothes rolled up in the sleeping bag, that's genuis, nothing worse than getting out of a warm sleeping bag to put on cold clothes 😂 Thanks so much Haydn!❤x
Honestly Timmy, that would not have been my ideal choice of pitch 😂 I got a bit rushed into it by the weather and it was such a pain to set up/pack down in that small space with branches in my face! If I have the time and energy, I definitely like to be fussy too haha
Couldn't agree more Pete! It wasn't that fun in the moment at night but I still look back on it as a great memory, and as you say, you learn so much too (perhaps you even learn more on adventures that don't go so well, compared to the perfect ones too). Thanks for taking the time to watch :)
I am anxiously waiting for a snow here as I want to snow camp again. But, I am not really interested in camping in temps near freezing and just wet/rain. It's different. A different kind of cold. Keep it up tho, we're watching with keen interest! ;)
Do you normally get a lot of snow where you are? I have to say, had I known it was just going to be that awkward cold temperature and rain all night, I doubt I'd have gone out! I'm still really drawn to the idea of a proper snow camp like you are waiting for though... so perhaps I will try again. Thank you! And I hope your snow arrives soon, I'd love to hear about your snow camp when it happens.
@@ChloeRoseHarrison We don't get the snow we used to, meaning it doesn't snow as early or stay on the ground as long as in years past. Ours now comes in singular events, less frequent and melts off quicker. And one must be careful or choosy on a forecast that it doesn't turn out to be a cold rain event as you've just experienced. Having said that they are forecasting a potential epic snowstorm from mid to end of the week this week with up to 21 inches of snow- 53cm. The drawback with that will be brutal cold temps and wind. Calling for blizzard conditions. Unfortunately with the forecasted temps being so cold I don't want to try camping in this upcoming event. Might be a little colder than my gear is rated for with the wind chill. My sleeping bag is rated to 0 farenheit, -17c and a 4 season tent. So, yes, I am anxiously awaiting a proper snow camp as well. "Normal" winter temps. With snow. :) Camping in a cold rain, cold being just above freezing is miserable. You called it awkward. Great description. Temps may have been above freezing but like you I could never get warm. The humidity levels causing that? But it was miserable. Didn't make for good times. I've snow camped before in colder temps with snow, and done fine. But that's been a number of years ago now. I do and will avoid camping with temps from 1 to 4 or 5c with rain. I am looking forward to you being able to do a proper snow camp! Hopefully the weather, timing, etc. works out for you! Meantime if you just do equipment vids or the like would be awesome also. ;)
@@tentcampingwiththeoldfolks Hmmm I see... sadly you hear that so much nowaways don't you, snow not falling as much or for as long, temperatures and weather is really changing. I've been following that Arctic storm on the news from Scotland... it sounds really serious in some areas, I hope you are able to stay safe and warm. I saw that -70 in some places is predicted - that is so far beyond what I can imagine! Scarily cold. Definitely not the normal winter temperatures you need for your camp, nowhere near! Humidity could be a good shout actually, I hadn't thought of that, that can make it harder to be warm. Hopefully we might both have some snow camp stories to share with one another in the next couple of months!
@@ChloeRoseHarrison That's how I got to camp in cold rain a couple times, the forecast snow never materialized from the rain like your experience. Yes, weather patterns are changing. This arctic blast... is serious. Right now, 12/23 at 1940hrs we are -20c real temp and -40c with wind chill. The wind chill was much worse overnight last night when this system moved in. I don't mind cold as long a sit is dry. I hate the damp and being wet though. The trouble with it being ice cold though is getting the blinkin pegs into the ground.
I'm yet to experience a purely dry cold camp, but I think I will end up agreeing with you Iain. Wet and cold can be a miserable combination! I hadn't even thought about getting pegs into the ground (winter camp noob here!), are there any hacks or tricks for that, or is it just persistence and strong pegs/something good to bash them in with?
Hi Chloe. When growing up I was always taught
“there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. + Hand warmers in gloves and socks.
I'm just now getting a chance to sit down and watch this. Happy Winter Solstice Soul Sister! 🎩❄🌲❄🌲💚
And to you too Jamie! 💚 The cold and darker days will melt away in no time now!
Always got to try before you know don't you! Thank you, that's lovely to hear... I hope you have a magical Christmas with Scout!
@@ChloeRoseHarrison thanks Chloe, hope you have a lovely Christmas too!
(what was it?)
Oh and shame on those who left their trash behind.
I get all my music from a site called Epidemic Sounds - the songs were 'Colours of the Moon, Mandala Dreams', 'Amanacer, El Neon', 'Stay in Orbit, Victor Lundberg', and 'Intospective, Gabriel Lewis' :)
Lovely to hear you would enjoy my hill walking trips, I love doing those. Thank you so much Daniel, all the very best to you!
@@ChloeRoseHarrison If you do not post before Christmas or new year, I hope you all have a blessed Christmas and new year.
And thanks for the music list.
@@daniel.d2150 The same to you too Daniel! And truly, thank you again for taking the time to always pop up and chat to me. I really love talking with you, it's been so lovely getting to know you this year :)
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Likewise and thank you!🙂
Great vid Chloe, winter camping is hard lol, if it's not for you and you don't enjoy it don't do it, no point do something that you'll dread doing, it's supposed to be fun and enjoyable at the end of the day 😉👍
Such great advice, thank you Mick! I haven't done a camp since this one and still don't feel inspired too yet... I'm cold enough in my own house haha. I think with better kit it would be a lot more enjoyable, but that requires money and time to build up. I look forward to the day I can winter camp and love it, but for now, I may have to bide my time!
Stunning footage as always. Thanks for sharing your wonderful outdoor life.Have a nice day ahead , Chloe😉
Thank you so much - and a very happy new year to you! I hope it's full of lots of love and adventure!
I don’t like the cold weather much either to be honest, but I’m still going to continue my wild camping over the winter months I’ve decided, as I too am chasing that elusive snow camp..☃️
So I’ve beefed up on my winter gear - and splashed out on a 6.9 R-value sleeping pad, and a -7 down filled sleeping bag.
@@ChloeRoseHarrison Yes I shall keep you posted on how I get on for sure..👍🏻
The Lake District is looking likely the best place to for me to find it! ❄️❄️
I’m pleased to hear your willing to give it another go…
I also take the cheap disposable hand warmers with me on my cold camps, they stay warm for 8hrs and make a real difference when you chuck a couple of them down the bottom of your sleeping bag, you could also try a thermal liner inside your bag too, which again is a much cheaper way of adding extra thermal resistance against the cold, to your current set-up.
I have now booked our first stay at Knepp, going with my hubby, and absolutely cannot wait!
Anyhow, thank you so much for taking the time to reply, and I look forward to sharing with you when I finally get out there (*stupid weather) 😂
Have a wonderful week ahead, and hope to chat again soon xx
@@Youpenga It's very cold but very beautiful up here at the moment! I spent a few weeks down south near you over Christmas though and I don't think I saw blue sky the whole time... it was just grey and rainy, so I relate to your stupid weather comment 😂
Ahh April will be such a lovely time to be there!
We have a cold snap heading our way down south again but I imagine still warmer than up by you 😂 It’s definitely been frustrating weather when you just want to get outdoors!
I have never heard them sing I don’t think, so I’m super excited to do so! I’m not going on the Nightingale Safari, but really hopeful to hear them singing! I have been studying bird songs and hoping to learn more in the months to come about all the incredible wildlife around us!
Can’t wait to be at Knepp, and I hope if you’re down south again you’ll be able to visit again too ☺️
Looking forward to your next video and wishing you a beautiful week ahead! Xx
@@Youpenga It certainly has been cold, along with a fresh dump of snow! Albeit temperature wise I think it's actually been very similar to what you're experiencing, so I think we're all in the same cold boat! 😂 I know quite a few people that work at Knepp/visit often, they might know the spots where the nightingales often set up home...
However im more inclined to enjoy the historical benefits of the trail the knowledge adds to the freedom aspect, ta for the reply, look forward to your next video and enjoy the festivities 👍
@@andylittlebritain7680 I don't know, I feel the cold like nobody's business, if it works for you I reckon it'd be great for me too 😂
Another great video!
Hi chloe, yep the cold weather does put you off a wild camp it's fun if your comfortable but this last few weeks haven't made it fun
It's definitely a more challenging season to be out in... and so much harder to summon the willpower to leave the warm house and go out !

You are a lot less fussy about your camp spots that i am haha.
Honestly Timmy, that would not have been my ideal choice of pitch 😂 I got a bit rushed into it by the weather and it was such a pain to set up/pack down in that small space with branches in my face! If I have the time and energy, I definitely like to be fussy too haha
Fair play for going, its all part of the fun,and you gain valuable experience from it,well done 👏
I hope the system loses much if not all of it's punch by the time it makes it's way over to you. Anyway, Have a Wonderful Christmas! ;)

Hot tent or hammock camping in winter.
I love the sound of doing a hot tent... a lot of people have commented that now, so I reckon I'll have to give it a go. Thanks Ed!
Maybe have a campfire and spend the day somewhere just don't stay overnight. I always enjoy the wildlife in your videos.
That's a lovely idea, there's nothing better than sitting round a warm campfire and listening to the crackle. I always enjoy showing the wildlife, thank you. I hope you have a great Christmas!
