Thank you for making this video. Easy to follow instructions. I changed the battery in my Nexus 5x and feel disproportionately proud of myself.

Thanks for the video. Removed case, screws, old battery, installed new battery and put everything back together again in less that an hour. Would not have thought about doing it myself without this video.

Removing the old battery is tricky since it is glued to the phone, be careful not to rip the black cover of the battery, mine accidentally sent a couple of sparks. Thanks for the video, the replacement worked!

Thanks! Your instructions were perfect! Okay, maybe you could have shown the screws being taken out, although obvious? Otherwise, spot on!

There's double sided tape just underneath the camera (behind the frame). There's also a butt-load of double sided tape underneath the battery. I found that inserting three toothpicks, one at a time, and then using them to pry up the battery works well.

Good instructions, although like many other viewers I found it almost impossible to remove the back. Thin plastic tools would just bend, so I used a large flat screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry open the SIM slot a little bit and then used a metal dental spatula to go all around the back. My old battery was very swollen so that might be the reason why the back was so tight.

Wow, after hearing that the N5X had a non-removable battery, I was kind of sad, but seeing this video and how easy it is to replace it versus the One (M8), I think I'll like this phone :D (like in the future in case the battery dies) It's getting here in two days!!

Are this guy's finger nails made of steel? The case was so hard to pry open. Clearly this is a demo phone with no glue on the battery. At any rate successfully done no scratches. Thanks for the video

Just look for a Nexus 5X battery. You should be able to find plenty on eBay.

An author forgot to mention that you need to unscrew 10 screws on a back before performing the step 2. You try to take out the parts before unscrewing them and then you yourself become “screwed”. This is not a very accurate instruction, I advise rather to check one posted by NewPower99.

How ridiculous and stupid are the ppl in charge of the conception of that phone, to not have just put a connector and made the battery direcly removable!!!!!
It wouldnt take much space to do so and it's a non sens to see how the battery was integrated in a non removable way.
I really don't think is was'nt made on purpose and I really don't like the way google is going, forcing ppl to NOT have an microSD slot and forcing ppl not having a removable battery.
I woulnd never consider such a pricey piece of technology that is programmed to be obsolete (Not all ppl are willing to use a screwdriver for doing such a thing).
    Thanks for the video anyway.

5777 I just changed it yesterday and haven't gone through a full cycle yet, but so far it seems to be about 20-30% better than the 2 year old battery. Not as big of an improvement as I was expecting
