When I listen to Daniel King I always felt he slows down his speech a bit ... not much ... but just enough to have a feeling it is not his real authentic speed (I know it sounds weird, but hear me out) ... then I realize I can always change the video-speed settings to 1.25x ... or better: 1.20x via custom ... Then I realize wow what a different feel ... Much brighter & smarter :P ... no joke ... I know it is completely subjective! ... If you test it yourself, adjusting the speed, you can hear/feel it too.
I couldn't believe it when Dominguez did not play Ne6. I ordered myself an Octopus Knight cup to remind me never miss an opportunity to get an octopus knight. LOL.
Great analysis! Really helps lower rated players like me understand the depth behind all the moves and reveals neat tactics I would have never noticed.

Utterly baffling finish for a player of Dominguez's talent. In a crushing position, give up his best piece simply to win a pawn... and then don't take the pawn??? With plenty of time on his clock? I'm beginning to wonder if Neimann's "special talent" is some sort of mind control ability.
Do you think Magnus will address this situation ? I think in all fairness he should do so, he is basically placing a shadow on Niemann for nothing otherwise.
Niemann already has a shadow. He cheated twice that we know about. There are people hinting that he had to be removed from their chess groups for some reason. Now watch his games from four months ago. There’s no way he improved so dramatically in such a short period of time. Listen to his post game analysis. It’s complete nonsense.
At 3;52, with white, I'd want to exchange the light-squared bishops on e6, then play c4 to lock in black's other bishop. Is that a good idea? or am I missing something?
The pawns in center aren't really blocked. Since after the bishop trade on e6. Black always can play. d5. Giving black the space and flexibility in the centre. Sort of similar like white had in the game. Altough less strong. Since not the second d pawn to break. After this big centre black will have the time to remaneuvre the bishop. The white dark square bishop also will not be really stronger, since mostly looking at a rock( for sure if black pushes all the way to d4)

There is something that isn't really brought up in the analysis of the whole situation: a false accusation of cheating is considered a breach of the FIDE code of ethics. This is in FIDE's Anti-Cheating Regulations: False accusation in chess is an abuse of freedom of expression that is prohibited by the Code of Ethics. An accusation of cheating that is manifestly unfounded, i.e. based only on emotion and/or insufficient data, is a false accusation. An accusation of cheating that is based on factual circumstances that would lead a reasonable person to believe that there is a reasonable chance of cheating is not considered a manifestly unfounded accusation.
If Hans were to draw the rest of his games, I'd label that a 3000 level performance. I can't imagine playing under the conditions he is dealing with, especially at the age of 19 in his first big tournament. I'm rooting for him to continue to provide competitive games, any positive results will be a bonus. Won't be easy...Wesley, Ian and Fabi left I believe. Wesley will wait for Hans to make a mistake. Ian will throw the kitchen sink at him and Fabi will show him what world class opening prep is really like.
I would argue his oponnents last 2 rounds were at least equally affected. The remaining rounds I can agree more with. Since I guess the rest of the field will settle down where for him clearly it isn't settled yet
I would honestly be surprised by any Niemann win following his win against Magnus. People are treating him like a super GM, but he’s an unproven quantity with a history of blundering against quality opponents.

Strange he didnt do that, maybe he was worried under time pressure about the N on b5, but yaah Ne6 looks like a far superior Knight

The pressure on Niemann is so unfair on no evidence whatsoever. Carlsen and Nakamura should apologise.
