- This is actually only the second time Karla and I have ever danced together. We met the night before during the social dance.
All-Star JnJ Finals at Bama Jamma in Birmingham, Alabama. Dancers are Keerigan Rudd and Karla Anita Catana. The style is West Coast Swing-a fully improvised swing dance style that’s very versatile in music genre and bpm.

I was never much of a dancer, but dating a lady who was almost a head taller, I took a chance when she suggested we try ballroom dancing. She had taken lessons and was very helpful AND very patient. So it was actually fun to learn and dance together. I finally understood what my parents had done when they were dating in Los Angeles in the year before Pearl Harbor.

Honestly, West Coast Swing is one of those dances that you don't have to be super spry with. You can keep it as simple as you need to. If you can walk, you can dance West Coast. I highly recommend it!

Love that he admits he gave unclear leading (it’s not always the case, there are instances where we just move because we thought you led us to even though you didn’t (I do that when I’m tired or nervous lol) but usually it’s just that the leader did something unclear and we responded accordingly 😂, makes the dance even more fun so no problems 😂)
