    I love the ribbed piece! That would be fun to do a bunch of different identical pieces with all sorts of combos. Those would be pretty wedding favors for guests too.

    I love putting oatmeal on the rim over indigo float and giving the pot a light tap to encourage the drips it's pretty where it runs through the blue glaze. Or Smokey Merlot over Obsidian. It makes the Smokey Merlot a beautiful purple. Storm is very pretty. Cool test mug I love seeing the different glaze combinations.

    Sarah, I have a 2021 challenge for you. Just once no sneak peak before you open for the video? ONLY KIDDING, I would be surprised if you didn't.
    Your students work is impressive for such little time spent on the wheel, and of course the wonky pot always looks good.
    While you showed the multi glazed mug I thought that making about a 2-3" candle holder cylinder sitting on a tray would be a great way to test glazes with multi mix. Good use of a damaged mug.
    Thanks for another sharing video.
    My share: Retirement to-do list: Wake up. Nailed it!
    Cheers and be well...Freddei

    That was a fun time! I just did my first bisque fire and am ready to glaze some pots. I love the Elan transfers, thank you for introducing me. I haven't used transfers before, but ordered a few from sambal a while back. I'll try them on my spoon rests and see how it goes. I'm ready for that slipcast video. I have an amazing chess set to pour. I bought slip for it. I wonder if you'll show us how to make out own slip for slipcasting. -Geoffrey

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  3 роки тому

      Hi Geoff. First firing- how exciting. I remember mine - couldn't wait to open the kiln. There is a video on the way to make your own slip it's included in the one about the difference between slip, underglaze and glaze. Will get to the slip casting tutorial hopefully in the not too distant future. Thanks for tuning in again 🙏

    • @LordGeoffrey
      @LordGeoffrey 3 роки тому

      @@thepotterycorner I don't recall you making slip for slip casting in that video. Like a BUCKET of slip, lol. Do you just add water to clay and mix it up? I thought there was something you could add that would help it have less water in it. I looked it up..."Deflocculant" is the word. I may not have what it takes to make my own. I couldn't even spell it! Have a wonderful day. I love your channel. Also, so happy to discover that you are not just another floating torso. She has legs!!

    This was fun!
    I’m just a bit confused. com because I think you said when you were talking about Fern’s plate that dinnerware would need to be glazed both sides otherwise it wouldn’t be ok in the dishwasher... that confused me a bit because I thought if the clay was fully vitrified it wouldn’t matter - or maybe it’s made of earthenware? Great to see snapdragon and mulberry - I haven’t seen those before and I love your blue rutile pot with the slip dots. Great presentation as always; really enjoyed watching it on my TV this time instead of my phone 😍👏🏻🏆

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Barbara. We only use stoneware but for dinnerware that is going to be used daily, I would advise it is fully glazed. The clay would be fully vitrified but a Textured unglazed surface would probably not be the best thing for eating off (IMHO!). Fern has amazing ideas and amazing talent too which is lovely for me as the course leader. I think I'm learning nearly as much from her as she does from me😆. Thanks as ever for watching- especially on a big screen- hope it's not ultra HD to show up my wrinkles 🤪
