In 2010 Savage and his husband Terry Miller founded the Emmy-winning “It Gets Better” Project, gathering tens of thousands of videos from people all over the world offering messages of hope to LGBT kids. Join CHF Associate Artistic Director Alison Cuddy in welcoming Savage back to our stage for a frank conversation on gay rights, gay marriage, and the speed of social change.

I consider Dan a national treasure. Liberating people from their fears and ignorance. A sane intelligent voice for the deepest parts of what makes us human
yes, liberating indeed, people are very judgmental , they judge, scrutinize, and ostracize, treat you like a villain , there is something wrong with you psychologically, how can you have sex or even want to have sex with someone else if you love your husband/wife, you are scum, etc. that kind of vile attitudes,
monogamy is a struggle, its not easy,
religious people believe in a god for which there is no proof, the bible is written by humans and the moral and sexual doctrines are also man made , but they preach their ideas in a sanctimonious way and are in practice the most judgmental and the most intolerant, how about thy shall not judge, how about empathy , if you believe in God then God = love and love = empathy and love is universal (for more than just the one) tell that to those religious fanatics (or even zealots)
if you believe that sex with someone else is morally wrong is a bird or a swan for being how they are morally wrong ? by the way I am agnostic not an atheist
it is NORMAL IT IS HUMAN to feel attracted to more than just one person and to feel like acting upon it (even when you choose not to) because that is in our DNA thats whats is really the very definition of attraction the desire to have sex with someone else it doesnt make you abnormal it makes you human you are NOT mentally or emotionally unstable or abnormal because you feel attracted to someone else besides your spouse
I find it very annoying for people to make such harsh judgments about it, a survey has revealed that 74% of men and 68% of women would have sex with someone else if it were guaranteed that their spouse would not find out !!! it is normal, human to feel, to desire , to want connection, even when you dont , thats what makes us human to want connection emotionally, sexually or spiritually

I once worked at an alt-weekly newspaper that featured Dan Savage's syndicated column. We would copyedit the column to make it align with our stylebook. The copy editors would always argue over whose "turn" it was to endure the weekly Savage grotesquerie. Nobody wanted the task of proofreading his column, because it was always so disgusting.
Can't stop repeating this, can you, Gunnar? Can't stop listening to Dan, can you? The thrill of being disgusted?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Dan Savage; but that part at 54:00 is pure psychological projection on his part. He interrupts during interviews with the best of them and is often the first one!
Be that as it may, Savage is correct; it's a typical rhetorical trick to bury your opponent in words so that she can't get a word in and doesn't know how to reply even if she does.
This man always seems so angry....
