I know this is super late but just an idea:) You could speed up the point where you show the marker code. I believe what makes it so "jarring" is because of the edit back to the white page. You could fix that by editing like: speed up the process where you grab the marker and slow when you show the code, then speed up when you go to use it. Then it's not so "snapshot-ty". Hope this helps:)

Yeah I'm glad they've decided to make them. Although to be fair, I find their pens hold a lot of ink, i haven't had an issue with any of mine running out yet, says a lot about the quality of their pens 👌👌
I do love how you showing off the colors you are using in the illustration, btw I also love you art style it’s so inspiring to see how well you draw cowboys the most ❤❤❤
I'm not a professional by any means but I do own these same ohuhu markers. If you color a tiny bit slower on the bigger parts, you can basically eliminate streaking. If it's a really big area I use the chisel nib but yeah, you can color exactly how you have been but going just a little bit slower makes a big difference! I find it so satisfying and it always amazes me every time I don't get any streaks.
Ooh Thank you! I'll definitely try this out! I think it's in part to do with me being SUPER impatient 😂 But I'm about to do a marker piece so for sure gonna try this 😁😁

Your art is so inspiring, I love drawing along to your videos! I hope I can get to your level one day.
A suggestion for the markers being used. It is a little jarring how you have it in this video but I thought maybe it would be possible to put the marker cap somewhere in the frame so that way we can read it and you don’t have to do any extra editing? I don’t know if that is possible (if they can stand up on their own) or if it would get in the way while drawing or not though.

That would certainly be easier. I might try it out and see how it works in a future video, but I'm thinking I might just stop putting the names in🤔
I like to listen to artist voice overs as I draw and you're voice I find quiet calming lol
Something you might be able to try for showing the colors it having the cap standing up somewhere in the frame while you are drawing with with (for example you could have it standing up in the corner of the sketchbook where you aren’t coloring)
Based on the way that you yourself are talking about the holding up of the marker it seems like you also think that it is a little jarring (to which I agree). One way in which you could fix this and get the benefits without the cons is you can always hold the marker up during the recording and then when you edit the video you have a clear reference of what color your using and you can just edit out that little clipand replace it with your previous method. This way you don't have to remmeber the color names and numbers but there is also less jumping between marker display and art.
(Also a little something to remember, never talk down on something you don't love when sharing it with an audience. You can talk about certian changes you would make if you made the piece or the video over again but saying to the audience that you really hate how something came out or you dont know what to say only brings these things to their attention when they may not have previously noticed or in the case of the actual artwork, sometimes it is the part that someone liked the best about the piece. )
That's a good idea, I might try that in the future if I decide to keep mentioning the pen names.
I get what you're saying, and I try not to hate on my work too much, but I also like giving my honest opinion about my work. I like being real and showing that not everything turns out exactly how it's planned, something a lot of artists can relate to, and I like hearing when other artists are struggling or dislike the outcome of something as it's something we all feel but don't necessarily say.

One thing you could try out is doing the filming of the marker barrels for your editing fliw, but in the editing use a text overlay which you would now have a record of, and just edit out the barrel part for the viewer
Yeah that's something I've been considering, but one of the issues I was having was also all the extra editing 😅 I'm thinking I might just stop including the names 👌
