Domo, I am an SLP at a school for kids on the spectrum. Two things: 1. You are amazing. You are a rock star mom. Hands down, exactly what he needs to thrive. 2. He will feed off your energy on his first day. You are naturally excited but consider that he is overstimulated by the experience alone, so the more low key, calm, easy vibe you truly have, he will feed off that. Repeated phrases of fact, that he will get to meet new people and then you will pick him up and he will come home. He WILL have difficulty with the transition because that is a defining feature and symptom of ASD. Thats okay! You’ re there for him. Sounds like a great teacher and that is everything!
Girl this had me in tears. My 4 year old son has autism. My biggest fear is everyone else as well. But I know god is good and will watch over him. And us strong moms are their biggest advocates. Sending lots of love and blessing to you guys 🙏❤️
My son is on the spectrum. The fact that you diagnosed him when you did and are taking all the right steps… he’ll do amazing & school will help him so so much 💛

Girl it’s definitely a good thang that’s he’s going to the school. My daughter has autism and it’s gonna be hard for the first month at school because they are use to doing what they want at home lol. But he will be okay trust me this is the best thang you can do for him!! My daughter started adjusting after the 3rd week of school so you just have to give it time. He will love it once he gets used to it ♥️
Girl omg!!! I was there from the very beginning watching your videos I truly understand as I am now a mother of 2 autistic 2 year olds. I am crying watching this video because I truly understand as a mother, subscriber from the beginning and also a mother of autistic kiddos. I love you Domo. It will never not be scary but it will be easier to manage that fear. ❤️
Every good mom feels nervous about their kid going to school with other kids but it does give you so much free time and your mind will wander elsewhere until it's time to pick your sweet son up from school.
You always make me shed a tear. Every word you say is as if it's coming out of my mouth. Wick reminds me so much of my son. He almost 4 and doesn't really talk and is in developmental preschool.. I've put off getting him evaluated for autism until he's five but even then every little step he takes makes me so happy, even though it's not at the same time as his peers.
Girl I FELT you when you said you can tell other kids look at your child. My son is nonverbal as of right now. And sometimes kids run up to him at the park and ask to play, and he just looks at them and doesn’t respond. It bothers me a little because I want him to make friends and have fun. But if that’s not what he’s interested in right now, there’s nothing I can do. I just hope that we can work on it! 💖

I've been feeling a bit anxious about my daughter going back to school, SHES ONLY 3!! (4, oct.10) but it definitely feels likes its healthy for her. 🙂

Domo, this video hits home. My son is starting kindergarten in a couple of weeks & I'm not ready but I know it has to happen. I wish I could home school him but that's not in the cards for us. Like you said, we're great parents & we just have to trust all the hard work we've done to get them to this point. Dominic is amazing bc of the mother you are! Proud of both of you! I am a Autism but if u see me u can’t tell I look like one I was born different and i use to be a special Ed but I was smart and but got bullied at school use to always fight back teacher never help me so I had 12 grade students that was protected me until I got older now I have a lot of normal friends and I got married to a handsome guy live with him and now I know a lot of things on my own so proud of myself ❤️
Yess ! We do use stay in classes all day of me bein in special needs classes all of my life are the trun slow classes I still get pick on on social media u are so sweet 😄

I’m so nervous for my son to start TK cause he miss the school mark since his birthday in September and he’ll be 5years old then. So no kindergarten until next school year. I can’t believe he’s grown so much! Time sure flies by. I have a three year old who goes to school 5 days a week. It’s a struggle to navigate sometimes but he LOVES it. Wish him all the best ❤️💙

My son has speech issues and has been in speech therapy since he was 1 and had Occupational Therapy for about a year. He did so good with that and has improved so much. He started pre-k last year and has the same pre-K teacher this year. His class is a special needs classroom and they work 1on1 with each student on their specific needs while also teaching everyone the same things as regular pre-K like writing and using scissors and learning numbers and shapes, ect. I am so glad I have found the right place for him. He goes to school with all the big kids too. His school goes up to 8th grade. He loves being around all the kids and the older ones. It definitely helps him to do things he can't by watching the other kids. He starts back on the 10th while the rest of the school starts back tomorrow. I can't wait for him to get a school supply list next year for kindergarten. Wick is growing up so fast. It's crazy too see how your kids go from babies to 18 be for you know it. I hope he does so good in school. I worry about kids being mean to my boy and I won't hesitate to go to the school. Lol. I can't wait to see the school video. ❤️❤️ Much love to y'all .

Kids that are autistic are the SMARTEST PEOPLE!!!! We talked about that in church today to, Let me just say that , looked into in it an everything an this little boy I know is also an he is SO SMART!, there smarter than people who don’t have it. Your Son is on the TOP!!! 💪 an is a blessing ❤️

Domo you are beautiful inside and out so never think 🤔 that you are not. Your anxiety of him going to school every parent goes through this regardless if they on the spectrum or not. You are mother bear 🐻 🐻❄ and your pure instinct is to protect your cub from any danger. It's a journey ✨️ just take it day by day and yes school supplies can be exubient every level it expands.

I remember doing that the night before the 1st day of school. Writing her name on all of my daughter's supplies. It's okay sis, Wick🐻 will do phenomenally in school. Also it's totally normal to feel the anxiety you're experiencing
Omg I didn't even realize it's been that long. I've never watched the same influencer as long as I have been following you, and that was definitely before UA-cam lol and I won't ever stop watching....I feel like we are real family. BTW my son is on the spectrum and it's VERY HARD, VERY EMOTIONAL AND VERY OVERWHELMING AT TIMES. BUT WE WONT CHANGE IT FOR NOTHING!! They just see, interpret and understand things differently.

My daughter when she entered the 3grade she spent a great deal of time in the room with kids tht have special needs I didn’t tht bc she will grow up in a world 🌎 tht has as many great humans tht are not like u but THTS wht makes our world 🌍 great soo nephew Wick keep kicking the doors in. I loved u b4 u came in the world I’m still here my daughter my son I’m glad I made the choice too put them in class too help other kids it was due too their grades being good they had thee wonderful opportunity too help others who aren’t exactly like u be kind we are all humans love 💕 u nephew Wicky bear 🐻 always 😍💕
It's better the special need kids in a different class room so they get the attention they need.& other kids in a different room so the focus is on them too.
Ohhh Domo I’m right there with you. My son is 5 with Autism, I have a tour to go to tomorrow that is at an autism school. I feel the same way as you. I want him to start his first years off in an autism school just so he can feel comfortable & as he gets older if he wants to switch it up I’m down. However, if he doesn’t like it, I’m definitely homeschooling him lol❤️❤️❤️ I’m praying Wick enjoys his first day & makes ausome friends 🙏🏽🤗🤗❤️❤️

Girl I know ima be feeling similar when my sons first day of school comes this fall. He is speech delayed and will be getting assessed for autism soon. I’m super nervous either way, but I know school is going to help him. I hope that he gets some really nice and understanding teachers. And I hope he learns fast and is respected and respectful to his peers and teachers 💖

My precious boy is on the sore turn as well. He is now 4 years old and he’s in ABA full time. They just called about his pre-k evaluation and I JUST CANT BRING MYSELF TO TRY THE BIG BOY SCHOOL. I am SOOOOO MUCH ANXIETY. Thank you for the videos 💙

Not me crying 😭😭😭😭 My son just turned 3 and I think about him starting kindergarten in 2years all the time and I have anxiety af. He’s “Nero typical” but I’m worried about the same things you are. Wether he’s gonna be comfortable and happy there and all that other stuff. I like you have been a single mom since my son was born and me and my mom are the only ones that take care of him. I had a meltdown the other day cause I had to send him to daycare for a day that he’s been going to in & off since he was 6 months old. I’m talking boohoo cryingggggg. I think it’s cause he more aware now. He doesn’t like when I leave and it just makes me so sad. But I know it the end everything will be alright ♥️

Our kids are stronger than we think. I cried out side after I took my son to his very first day of K1. The teacher came out and said your son is fine, that she will take care of him like her own. My son had a blast. I picked him up he was so happy and yes my son has autism. So don't stress wait untill u drop them off get your pics and the go to your car and cry it out. Other than that he got this you are raising a fine young man and you are just a great mom he will feed off of you.
