My sister just got diagnosed with level 2 autism at 20 years old. I had a feeling she was autistic but my mom refused to believe it. Finally she has a diagnosis. I’m just worried about her ability to get a job.. she’s 20 but mentally she’s 14. My mom is sick and isn’t going to live much longer so my sister is going to be my responsibility and I don’t have my life together, a career, nothing. I’m a waitress. Idk what my point is. I’m just ranting my stress… I hope the government can give me financial aid when my mom is gone.
Don't wait until your mom is gone start searching now for help with your sister contacts Social Security to apply for SSI(Social Security disability) for your sister. Contact your local Department for Human Services to see if you can apply for medical for your sister and ask them about assistance and programs for her. You'll also be able to put her on your income taxes. I'm praying for you and your family.
