GRANDE UOMO, GRANDE GUERRIERO.
Somewhere around 2003 club in Columbia South Carolina quiet riot I believe. I was front row standing slightly stage left and being a drummer Frankie was 80% what I watched. Before oncore Frankie got up from the drum kit and walked front stage and handed me a pair of drumsticks! Although we really didn’t make eye contact during the show he could just tail and feel that I was a fellow drummer. I’ll never forget that sweet generous gesture as well as talking to him after the show. A real class act and solid Brother. My heart aches but I know you’re in a better place now. Be Free my friend.🙏
I think a lot of people do not understand what they are hearing. Even the basic Bonham triplets are not the simplest to play but when you get them right as Frankie does he here they are seriously effective. I know I used to play them far too much. There is a lot of technique in here if you listen. Is it the best solo no but is it still better than the majority in here could play and I am sure the answer would be yes.
You make perfect sense! A Bonzo drum solo had more because Bonzo had a good array of rudiments that he used to best effect. Frankie (on this solo) doesn't show much. If it was meant as a tribute in the style of John Bonham then fair enough, but I've heard better. And thats not to take away anything from Frankie, but I want to hear Frankie Banali be 'Frankie Banali' if that makes any sense?
Anyone know what's the name of the drum finish on Frankie's ludwig drums? I think I've found the drum finish I've been looking for all these years!!! Nice solo Frankie!!!
You think this cat is not a Bonham influenced drummer... Frankie was my drum God as a Kid.. Quiet Riot was metal to a 10 year old.. Beat that cancer Frank
The guy next to him I believe is Thomas pridgen. If it is without being disrespectful Thomas could play more with his left hand than Frankie could play in total... This is coming from a Quiet Riot and Frankie fan. It's just guys like Thomas are in a complete other stratosphere... Looks just like Thomas. I believe hes just being very respectful. Look up his name on UA-cam check him out, your head will fall off your neck...
Rest in peace Frankie.

One of Keith Kessinger's all time favorite drummers.

The world has lost a legend, I’m sure his mom was there the see him go to the light 😭

Bonham influence for sure, and giving those hi hats the what for
@Champane97
no idea, but you might find it at vintagedrumjunkies (dot) com. Sparkle finishes were very popular in the old days.

Best WASP drummer!
Anyone know what's the name of the drum finish on Frankie's ludwig drums? I think I've found the drum finish I've been looking for all these years!!! Nice solo Frankie!!!
That transition from hand playing back to active snare and sticks was pretty epic.
Werdios have a session???
Rip
the dude next to him looks like mike smith from suffocation?
Love Suffocation. But I believe that is Thomas Pridgen: MONSTER drummer. Played on a couple Mars Volta albums.
Tricky hi-hat clutch.
Open hand like Aldridge missed this dude along the way amazing
I'm probably going to catch heat for this but I don't care, I loved it, it was a great rendition to MOBY DICK off Led Zeppelin II
Lol....Yeah,definitely trying to summon Mr. Bonham during that wailing there...
Heavens line up...R.J Dio- vocals
Randy Rhoades-guitar
Steve Clark- guitar
Cliff Burton-bass
Frankie Banali- drums.
Always amazed by the knockers on here, great solo! Oh, yes it wasn't John Bonham!
Monster hitter
@wannabenj You have obviously never seen Steve Moore perform.
You think this cat is not a Bonham influenced drummer... Frankie was my drum God as a Kid.. Quiet Riot was metal to a 10 year old.. Beat that cancer Frank
the dude next to him is like "oh ^&$% i didn't sign up for this!"
That's the legendary Thomas Pridgen!!
Frankie goes to averagewood
Ha ha!!!!!! Now THAT, was funny! ( and....sadly, True)
Idn about a Bonham ripoff here from Frankie. I will say that the Bonham style is easy to learn and play, but hard to master (if that makes any sense).
frankie is influenced by nobody except john bonham! there is the style of bonham's play in everything that frankie does......................
The guy next to him don’t won’t none
The guy next to him I believe is Thomas pridgen. If it is without being disrespectful Thomas could play more with his left hand than Frankie could play in total... Frankie hits those drums like the Romans whipped jesus
wtf is going on with that hi-hat? o.o
We all have off days this is clearly one. I think he's better than this.
No melody. No feel. No music. Just noise. And endless nonesense. No rudimentary skills at all. Straight singles. And triplets. Lol
drummers who hit hard have to be seen and heard live...this sound does not capture the power
The fucken drums sounds like bongo. Why people tune their drums so fucken tight?
I've always been a fan of Frankie, but damn these hi hats sound like crap. So do all the cymbals, while we're at it.
Anyone who holds a drum stick in his mouth to fix his hi hat. Has comepletely lost my attention lol. 🎉
I thoughted he woz betterer than this.
The worse noise. I have ever heard. No offense to the dead. At all. Just being honest.
Yall drummers are way too nerdy!!!!!!!! THIS SOLO FUCKING ROCKS
GUITAR PLAYER
One trick pony..same sloppy Bonham impression over and over
total.John.Bonham.ripoff!!!..so.obvious!!
fuck off!
FRANKIE LIKE LARS, used to be a good drummer
+Julia Francis Man, he was 60 years old at the time. And Lars.... he was never half as good as Frankie....
Not as good as John Bohnam's hand drum solo.
