I have one of Chuck Mangione's hats given to me by my great Aunt (Vin's mom) when Chuck would stay at the house as a 'starving musician', sleeping on the couch. She, Linda, would feed anyone brought to the house her extraordinary Italian cooking, as that is the Italian way. His son Charles followed in his footsteps as a drummer whom I'm in touch with periodically.

Man I sure like The Ringer, Music Inc and Live At Slugs; though the later is more challenging for me. Virgo Vibes is another good album that I believe he was featured on. Matthew Halsall is from Wigan which is in the north of the UK. Wigan has a great jazz festival which has hosted many of the greatest jazz musicians over the past 40+ years. I knew Matthew as a teenage trumpet player and he has come a long way since then. He is currently based in Manchester UK which is also in the north of England. So far it has really surprised me. At first I was running it without the rubber mat which made images very diffuse. But with the mat on, it’s pretty terrific for $2300.
