I love your iterative design approach to re-engineering designs from first principles. I think the fan in this design is pulling most of the air from the rear when it lifts off the surface which would slow down the vehicle. Regarding the fixed-wing design, a problem with large diffusers is that they can stall if there is not enough incoming air through the throat. To prevent this, speed up the air at the throat or let more air through by increasing the height.
I wonder if the design could be improved by having a microswitch with normally closed and normally open outputs that disconnects the drive motors and connects the fan motor, maybe it could be activated by the machine lifting off the ground (though I suspect it might bounce a little on the track joining points)
When you were wondering if the fan was turning on appropriately, I thought, "they should put an LED on there and we could know for sure!" Then immediately you installed the LED. I can't describe how happy I was in that moment.
Congratulation for your new record! 🎉 The difference of timing can be caused from the battery pack that you used for the car, lipo batteries are unstable and not every recharge is the same, the battery charger also has to be high quality for having good results. I also suggest you to keep the battery in a safety box cause it could overheat and take fire, be always in the room when you recharge it for checking. I relly like your channel ! See you from italy😊
I enjoy the way your projects evolve through the video, and your willingness to try unusual ideas and really push those ideas as far as you can always makes it fun to watch. I am not an aeronautics engineer so i have no idea what forces may be at play here. Simply basing off the large time and speed difference with the fan covered and uncovered; there is a very strong suction force being created with the fan covered, this doesnt explain why you dont go much faster with the fan off in that same configuration unless the fan is not needed to create this large downforce in that configuration (something i would also find very odd). Possibly the void in the center of the car is causing a very low pressure area that is creating suction? Again i dont know. When the wing is placed in the rear of the vehicle maybe it is effectively seperating the upper and lower air pressures? I have no clue why this would have such a huge effect on performance. My guess is that there must be some kind of interaction with the different air pressures taking place at rhe rear of the vehicle, possibly vortices being created? I wonder what the result would be if you had your "hi" mechanism and the rear seperation diffuser both installed if it would remain as fast as without the "hi" mechanism or would it slow to the same as without the rear diffuser? How do we get you a wind tunnel and a high speed camera. The way your experiments create new questions and ideas while answering previous curiosities is what i find truly great about your channel. Thank you for not being afraid to explore any concept no matter how small and insignifigant some may seem and thank you for including all the ideas and experiments that didnt work because those are some of the most interesting things is seeing what doesnt work. Your ingenuity in the solutions you create is very impressive and i feel that eventually with the right combination of things you have learned from all your experiments you will achieve a world record and even discover and learn things that will end up helping people all over the world.
I always wait your videos, and also glad that you break a new record, congratulations. I guess, your grandma calligraphy is key for this new record. You must keep that calligraphy for a charm. Aside from calligraphy, i think aerodynamic give more impact. At this point, on off switch less effective since it just millisecond. Cmiiw
Amazing channel you have! If I may add my input to help develop the car, there needs to be a good path for airflow from the front to the underside of the car so the fan can work better. Check the lotus 79 or the williams fw07 side tunnels and imagine there's a fan to extract the air from the mouth of the tunnel. There's also the possibility of inertia forces making the car lifting one axle more or not in tune with the rest, you can use a cradle to suspend with springs the heaviest components of the car, because I can't think of another way to have the axles and drivetrain remain the same when using a suspension. An idea would be to use a X chassis shape with the tyres in the corners of it and a try to get the heaviest components in the centre of the chassis.

可変ウィング有りの際に速度が伸びなかったのは羽根の抵抗が大きくてマシンが加速できなかった、もしくは抵抗でファンモーターの消費電流が増えて動力が食われた可能性を挙げときます
某シミュレーションゲームの話ですがトラックのように空気抵抗が大きい車と、一般的なスポーツカーでは同じ馬力でも最高速が大きく変わる(スポーツカーは400キロ付近まで伸びるのにトラックは250キロ辺りで打ち止め)のでミニ四駆にダウンフォースが有効であるように、空気抵抗も割と大事な要素かもしれません

LCでの挙動を見ている限り、ウィングによる外力(ダウンフォース)がフロント側にしかかかっていないように見えました
間違いなく車体を押し付ける力は発生しているのですが、その力がフロントにしかかかっていないせいでピッチングが発生してリアが跳ね飛ばされる…といった流れかもしれません
改善案としては、「可変ウィングの回転軸を車体中央に寄せる」「可変ウイングに連動して動くダンパー等を車体中央~後輪車軸間に付ける」「ウイングを小型のもの二枚に換装して、フロント側とリア側でそれぞれにダウンフォースを受けるようにする」などが考えられますね(実現可能かどうかはさておき)
百式のようなカッコ良さを感じる♪
