Today (tonight) I show you guys how to install the rare JDM interior grab bars for the back of the vehicle.
    You'll need 10x m6 rivnuts and a 9mm or 10mm drillbit.

The guide I used got taken down by the forum owner on a massive ego trip.. Adam Chyea did an awesome write up, but the owner of the site has a sleight against him
Seeing more and more ego and toxity in this community by the day, got me ready to bounce from the forums

@@isakjetbean yeah man I absolutely agree.
I know this is out of know where but I know youre 4” lifted I’m 3” lifted and I’m having issues with bump steer/kick back in my steering recently. Any time one wheel hits a pothole or bump my steering wheel kicks to the left or right. I’m thinking it’s the tie rods? Or steering rack worn out I’m stumped was wondering if you would happen to know what’s going on

You'd think there would already be threaded holes. But this is the same car where you need to drill holes through the body to install the OEM trailer hitch and employ a hacksaw to install the OEM roof rack xD
    Great guide, and great video!

That is actually what surprises me with the Rd1, soo many stuff you need to make fit on your own, instead most holes are already there... I was AT LEAST expecting the hole behind the first cap was threaded...

@@FreakoRico999 same lol but I guess it makes sense, the holes would be drilled before the body is assembled but the nuts would have to be manually welded in for each piece - their JDM cars must have their own section along the production line for these bits.
It does make sense though, there's no reason to have someone weld 10 nuts in for every car when only a very small percentage of them in just one country will ever have these bars.

Thank you so much for instructions, God! That gave me anxiety, I'm definitely going to put drill bit depth stopper on my drill bit, because my dumba$$ will definitely drill all the way through! How much room for error is the in the frame?

I couldn't tell you for certain, but I can confidently say you'd have to be paying very little attention to punch through both. You have, at the very least, about 2cm as that's the inside length of the rivnuts I used and they fit easily inside the hole without touching the outside frame.
Just take it slow, don't apply too much force and you'll be fine. I understand why it can be daunting, but you're not drilling a hole, you're just widening it so you don't need nearly as much time or pressure as drilling through sheet metal.
      And lastly, good luck!

does anyone know the spects for the hardware?

    • @isakjetbean
      @isakjetbean  Рік тому +1

      10 x m6 rivet nuts
10 x m6 hex bolts that double as Phillips head screws
Length for the bolts I'm not sure but I think around 40-50mm long. Not 100% sure though as my set came with the factory hardware
