I'm on a septic system and started hearing a gurgle from the kitchen sink drain. pulled the service cap off the septic tank and found it was ready to be emptied. Figured that must be causing the problem. Had that done and the next thing we knew the toilets were backing up. Did a little research and found there is a blockage in the pipe to the tank. Tried putting a small nozzle down the cleanout pipe outside but nasty things were coming back up. My suspicion was right, had a block at the tank. Called a plumbing service and they wanted 425.00 + to come out. And that would be in 2-3 days. Thank God for this video! Went to the big box store and picked up a bladder, came home, stuck it in the pipe as directed in this video and in 5 min all was golden! Try it! You'll like it! My wife and I sure did! We love saving money! Thank you soooo much for this video!

As someone who spent 2 years as a service plumber and is actively working at a hydro jetting company these tools, while effective, are incredibly situational and usually are only effective if they are used at a access location where there is no other tie ins or vents between the insertion and blockage if there are other tie ins or vents there is a very real risk of flooding via the tie in or vent

This video was very helpful. Thank you so much! Yesterday, I spent a couple hours trying to clear a clogged drainpipe using a DeWalt 20V 25ft. power snake. I was so frustrated, that I searched UA-cam and found this video. A quick trip to Home Depot, and under 5 minutes using my garden hose and the drain bladder, my drainpipe was cleared. This was such a huge relief! Earlier yesterday, I spent $750 to have my septic tank pumped. I had used my DeWalt electric snake in the past to clear a clogged pipe. However, getting the drain bladder from Home Depot was the best $25 I have ever spent. Thank you again!!
As a plumber that has and still uses these from time to time for minor blockages mainly cleaning residual debris after the line is cleared with a cable. If you put this in a pipe in your home or any building if it doesn't clear all the water will backfeed from that open pipe and come out all over your floor.
I’ve always made sure it passed the vent line and always recommend pulse it on for 10-20 seconds checking the main clean for signs of water being pushed through if none then cable get ran
So I have a clean out right in front of my porch. I’m backed up on the house side. I’m currently snaking it with a 1/2 inch cable to no avail. I’ve been told to use this pressure water bag. Should I and how would I do it since the clog is somewhere between my house and the clean out? Any info at all would be appreciated
Yep, I've bought the big one and the smaller one for kitchen drains. I've probably saved thousand's of dollars. This thing is a life-saver! Very good info!
Praise Jesus. It worked 💪. I bought a drain bladder from a local hardware store. Returned home to insert the bladder into sewer pipe. It worked. The most difficult part was ensuring the bladder is routed toward the sewer instead of back into the house
@CoyoteVlogs the main line is away from the home and the clean out is in between. Make sure you're observing the pipe before putting it in as it will be difficult to see once it's in the clean out.
Excellent advice. My home has two cleanouts and, oddly, the one nearest the house was the one going to the sewer. After the brain-teaser that was my bathtub filling with yuck...tried the closer one and voila. All good. Thank you!
Just picked up a Kobolt one from Lowes while waiting for a plumber and it worked like a champ. Not bad for $20 and saved my at least a couple of $100. Thanks for the video.
I have a house from the 40's and while I haven't had issues with the main stack, after seeing this video I'm almost convinced I should get a bladder and run it for preventive maintenance. ( .. run from inside the basement cleaning access plug that heads out to the sewer line.) There's a 3" drain from the sink that runs 50' on concrete floor there's been occasional issues with. Mine was a straight pipe almost to the end of the sewer line, where the city would have been responsible, and it worked like a charm. As others have said, can't work on everything but where it will work, it works.
You can also, with great care, use this to find the location of the blockage but you must have extra people to monitor the kitchen and bathrooms when you do this. Great video!
They work great, they even work in RV's. I suggest a 4-6' hose with a cut-off valve to put on the end of the main hose and use only it for sewers, that way you don't get your big expensive hose in the shit and you can work this with one person because you don't want it popping out when you turn the hose on which can happen if you don't do it properly.
We woke up to the exact situation today. The video was perfect and we had the tool on hand already after having a similar problem I the past. Perfect instruction. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the video. I used one of these bladders today to unclog a sewage drain going from the house to the septic. It (the bladder) did its job efficiently. I am rather unskilled when using tools of any sort. Your video was spot on in the usage of the bladder. Best to you. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Work like charm some people's call bladders move below joint so won't blow or split pipe got keep eye on it once seal inside it start pushing it VERY powerful
I had a very smaller version of this one and omg it worked wonders for my bathroom sink and now I have a block and a snake but going to the hardware store for another bladder cuz my mom stole mine, lol.
I just received the bladder from Amazon, got here the next day, so I was happy about that, the not so happy part after a few minutes, I heard a funny sound, turned off the water and pulled the bladder out, the end of the bladder had completely blown off, I guess it's somewhere in my sewer line now
Been having issues with grease in my main sewer line. My 50 foot snake works, but I have to clear out the main line almost every day! I'll have to buy one of these! See if it clears everything out! Thank you brother for your advice!
You’ve probably fixed your problem by now, but I had an idea that might work. If it will reach, attach the hose to the drain on your hot water heater. Then you can melt the grease away.
@@glasshalffull2930 I had a part of the sewer line replaced, it was collapsing because it had some old-type sewer line called "Orangeburg" or something like that. Cost $7500..sheesh! I would pay myself that type of cash if I knew how to replace a sewer line(I'm serious). But thank you for replying brother, stay blessed!
@@godfirst6880 My mother also had that weird pipe in the family homestead from 1964. One by one the neighbors all had to get it replaced. Luckily hers survived until we sold it in 2022. Bless you too!
Of recently borescope digital cameras have come down in price. We are talking less than $100. They often had a reach of about 16 feet and some connect to a Smartphone or to a dedicated 5 inch display. It will allow you confirm a blockage is gone or some other problem like a cracked pipe which allows roots and other things inside the line. But the expansion bladder does pay for itself in one unclogging. Use it FIRST before sending a camera down the drain and don't use an old bladder because rubber dry rots even after a few years .
I have a property that keeps getting blocked every 6 months or so. Tenant was flushing wipes, but at least it's not roots. First time called a plumber, 2nd time used a large auger and did it myself (I own one, but it a pain and messy). I didn't even know about this tool. I went to the hardware store and got it right away and it worked without me getting covered this time. Thank you for the video and tips. This was a weekend and wallet saver!
Tremendous.. I have a septic tank far away from my house and the clean out is near the house, but so far it appears clear. Still doing the water flush out and looks like the coast is clear. Thanks a million!!!
I've used these blatters in my bathroom sink, kitchen sink, and toilet. They work great. The one problem I have had using it in the kitchen and bathroom is the vent pipe doesn't let it create suction and the forced water will come out the vent line on roof. I have had to climb on the roof and plug the vent line then it will work.
That same company sells one just like it, but instead of pin hole on one side; both sides have the gold metal piece it’s part #750. THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL ONE!!!!! The pin hole is okay, but the identical one with the metal piece instead of the pin hole will unclog almost anything. You use to find these at any local hardware years ago until they found out how good they worked & started taking money away from plumbers. Need a couple because will burst & tear after so many uses - but you’ll get your $20 worth. Going on 23 years of 5+ people in the house & never paid a plumber to come. Goes to show how long this tool has been around.
Ive been using these for years. I have three different sizes. Havent had to use them for two years now that i put root killer down my pipes 2 times a year I used to use hot water to help unblock the pipes… but the bladders blow up after the second time id do it. It was a plumber who hooked me up with my first one… if that cant clear it, then i rent a commercial power snake
I used a large bladder in my 4" main line. After turning the water off, the bladder got stuck when i tried pulling it back out. I figured out how to twist the hose clockwise so it wouldnt unscrew the bladder and that freed the bladder to retrieve it.
to get the bladder down the clean out pipe get a can of wheel bearing grease. wipe all over the bladder then use use a1" z2" to guide it into the drain pipe.i find this makes it easier to install and remove.the greese will not hurt the bladder.
When you use one of those, as long as it gets the drain running pretty quickly, that's fine but if it doesn't get the drain running pretty quickly, the water will back up the vent from the drain and before you know it, you'll hear water running down the nearest downspout outside your house because the vent on your roof for the drain you are trying to unblock is overflowing which means, that water bag is not getting the drain running. When that happens, you'll need to "snake" the blocked drain the old conventional way.
Yup,this thing works.. used it many times..but I run it all the way to the blockage then blow it out..the harbor freight ones are like 1 or 2 times then it's done, it starts deforming..
Bought 1 for $10 at harbor freight and I was done in 30mins unclogging the main line. Thanks a lot

I am rather unskilled when using tools of any sort. Your video was spot on in the usage of the bladder. Best to you. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Glad to help!!!
Did you go through the trap? Was it cast-iron?
@@TheJrm1111 I went through the main drain pipe, almost at the 3/4 way from the septic tank. The device worked great.
You just saved me $350. Canceled the roto rooter guy. Unplugged main in 5 minutes.
Good Job!!!
This is the video that keeps on giving. Great explanation and demonstration. Thank you so much.
I'm glad you found it helpful!!
This is exactly what i was looking for! Thanks for making the video. I just ordered it from Amazon.
Ty and God bless you! Worked on my septic field line!
Work like charm some people's call bladders move below joint so won't blow or split pipe got keep eye on it once seal inside it start pushing it VERY powerful
Thank you this worked famously. I wish I would have tried this sooner I would’ve saved allot of money.
I had a very smaller version of this one and omg it worked wonders for my bathroom sink and now I have a block and a snake but going to the hardware store for another bladder cuz my mom stole mine, lol.
Life saver. Have used one several times
I don't have a sewage line for a septic tank, but I was curious to watch. Nice to see a calm common sense person doing a video. Thanks for the vid.
Would work on most main lines. Doesn’t have to be a septic system.
You may need to get some of the enzymes that eat the grease. Takes a couple weeks, but works well. You can find it on Amazon.
You’ve probably fixed your problem by now, but I had an idea that might work. If it will reach, attach the hose to the drain on your hot water heater. Then you can melt the grease away.

I had a part of the sewer line replaced, it was collapsing because it had some old-type sewer line called "Orangeburg" or something like that.
They often had a reach
of about 16 feet and some connect to a Smartphone or to a dedicated 5 inch display. It will allow you confirm a blockage
is gone or some other problem like a cracked pipe which allows roots and other things inside the line. But the expansion
bladder does pay for itself in one unclogging. Use it FIRST before sending a camera down the drain and don't use an old
bladder because rubber dry rots even after a few years .
Glad to help. It's saved me so much money
Tremendous.. I have a septic tank far away from my house and the clean out is near the house, but so far it appears clear. Still doing the water flush out and looks like the coast is clear. Thanks a million!!!
Happy to help
Came back to comment on the product, this worked perfectly has already unclogged 2 pipes very highly recommend!!
Man I really appreciate this! I cracked the lid of mine .. I'm hoping that I can find a replacement at the nearest hardware store.
Wow, I’d never heard of these before! Just ordered one from Amazon, thanks!
You're welcome
Thanks so much for this video as this item worked for me on the first go!!! I recommend having one at the house as it saved HUNDREDS..!!!
Good deal
Agreed. The Drain King model #750 for 3-6" pipes as well as the Drain King #186 for smaller pipes will take care of most clogs in your Home.
I'm a septic pumper used this few times good video
Ive been using these for years. I have three different sizes. Havent had to use them for two years now that i put root killer down my pipes 2 times a year
I used to use hot water to help unblock the pipes… but the bladders blow up after the second time id do it.
It was a plumber who hooked me up with my first one… if that cant clear it, then i rent a commercial power snake
Going to buy . I’ll be back with the results. Thanks
This tool is the best thing to come along for clearing sewer line blockages.
I used a large bladder in my 4" main line. After turning the water off, the bladder got stuck when i tried pulling it back out. I figured out how to twist the hose clockwise so it wouldnt unscrew the bladder and that freed the bladder to retrieve it.
I know my Harbor Freight one worked like a charm.
to get the bladder down the clean out pipe get a can of wheel bearing grease. wipe all over the bladder then use use a1" z2" to guide it into the drain pipe.i find this makes it easier to install and remove.the greese will not hurt the bladder.
I was about to give up and call a plumber, but found your video. Thank you!
Glad to help
Same, literally have a plumber scheduled for Monday but I'm finna go to Lowe's lol
It worked!!!! I saved $65 and now I have a little extra cash for my son's upcoming 5th bday party. Thank u so much
@@TLHickman1975 Glad to hear it
Thank u , please show us inside the house demonstrations too.
Thank u
Thank you so much! We thought we were going to need a plumber. Took your advice and the problem was resolved
Good deal
Thanks for posting my friend. This is just the tool I have been looking for and will save me many headaches in the future.
Yes the smaller bladder video would be great
Thank you so much. Total life saver.
The sewage bladder works great it work well ty
I used it years ago, good tool.
Great explanation and demonstration! It worked for me.
Thanks for the comment!!!
If you have an old sewer line, aren't you risking the rubber bladder might put too much stress on the sewer pipe and possibly crack it?
GENTLEMAN U R GREAT TO HELPING OTHERS IS BIG ACT IN THE EYES OF GOD MAY GOD BRINGS LOTS SHOER OF BLESSINGS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AMEEN
I knew of these 25 yr ago last year my nephew's home had clogged sewer I forgotten all about these now today I discovered a clog I found you
I'm glad to help
When you use one of those, as long as it gets the drain running pretty quickly, that's fine but if it doesn't get the drain running pretty quickly, the water will back up the vent from the drain and before you know it, you'll hear water running down the nearest downspout outside your house because the vent on your roof for the drain you are trying to unblock is overflowing which means, that water bag is not getting the drain running. When that happens, you'll need to "snake" the blocked drain the old conventional way.
easier to cap the vent
@@officerkrupke4966unless your house is over 2stories tall 😕
this is amazing, how is it possible that I've never seen this before?
Yup,this thing works.. used it many times..but I run it all the way to the blockage then blow it out..the harbor freight ones are like 1 or 2 times then it's done, it starts deforming..
