Experimenting with Earthbound style again! The instrumentation is pure Earthbound, however the arrangement was inspired by "Battle against a weird opponent" and Mother 3. I didn't stick myself to the limitations of the original harware for the sake having a more "complex" remix, hope you don't mind. btw, my apologies for the low quality battle background, I couldn't find a better one :(

Honestly, when I met Spamton, well first I didn't get half of the things he was saying, but next, everything in him, from his look and attitude to his theme was yelling "EARTHBOUND" at my face.

This seems like what would play if Spamton was still sane. This rendition of NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE feels less like a boss theme and more inviting, like a friendly spar. It feels more like it's own thing than an actual remix, with NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE and BIG SHOT as inspiration, which is what I love so about it. It is very obvious that you have complete mastery over the SNES soundfont. This sounds more like it's from Earthbound than from Deltarune. Overall 10/10 remix, i love this.
While yes, it does sound more inviting, and i see your point, but then again, that's what Spamton would try to do
Think with me rn, since spamton is always trying to make you take his deals, it would make perfect sense if he tried to be inviting, to make the player feel safer, to try and make him take his deal, and so making it easier for the player to take the [[kromer]]
I think this is a remix of "Spamton", his overworld theme, rather than his battle themes, which explains why it feels more chill
This probably played in one of his ad slots when he was still a BIG SHOT

I absolutely LOVE that this isn't just NOWS YOUR CHANCE TO BE A but in the earthbound soundfont (even though most of of its samples come from it) but that this is more of an assortment of what the song would sound like if it was in Earthbound. Sounds great!

I love how most of the comments agree that this is basically Spamton's theme before everything came crashing down around him, because to be honest, it really is. What'd make it better is if he was normal sized as well in the little earthbound fight sequence you have going there. That is, if that one theory of him getting dunked in the acid river and shrinking IS true. He's tall, got on a nice suit with a fancy little red bowtie, in the middle of a call, top of his game, a real [BIG SHOT].

- him being unusually short represents how he was looked down on before he made it big
- a common support for the theory is his line about "it burns! help me", but in the japanese translation, the word choice there relates to blinding light. this fits a lot better with his obsession with "heaven" which is implied to be the dark world
- people also point to him talking about vacationing in burning acid, but people who live in queen's mansion probably ride on the swan frequently.
- overall, the theory is much less in character and narratively cohesive than the alternatives.

I was just expecting Spamton's theme but with the instrumentation replaced with Earthbound instruments. This goes above and beyond, so I must tell you, you did amazing with this!
So, Earthbound takes place in 199X, and if this guy’s the “Number 1rated Salesman 1997”, then that should mean that Earthbound takes place at least between 1997 and 1999.
Personally my bet is 1997 because that makes this guy relative to the world

I'm so glad people still make stuff inspired by EarthBound/Mother. I have a special place in my heart for EarthBound specifically, its a game that makes me feel nice and cozy, and the music from it is my all time fav video game OST.

For those here who don't know, i'm 90% sure that all of Deltarune (and maybe Undertale?) use the Earthbound soundfont.
This is the natural conclusion after realizing "Spamton", "Now's Your Chance To Be A", and "BIG SHOT" all sample Earthbound
"BIG SHOT" also uses the Mega Man X1 soundfont.

Well, let's just say that if you don't use PK Freeze on it he will kill everyone in one hit.
@@internetidiot9877 The soul consuming flame was programmed to have 262 Defense, but the maximum number that the game could handle was 255, so the number overflows and it ends up having a DEF stat of 6 instead, meaning it's far less dangerous then it was intended to be.

This was the motivation I needed to spend hours on nearly finishing a Maya catapult, thank you. Chill enough to focus with but mesmerizingly groovy enough to keep my spirits way up.
Seriously though, I don't know a thing about making music, but I love the specific key this is in and the phone rings are SUCH a fitting touch. The background is crazy fitting for the vibe of the piece, too. Both very technological and biological-looking.

I love how this remix rolls right up to the line of being it's own new thing entirely yet clearly holds onto the source theme.
I like how this isn't just a straight rearrangement of one track but is more a mash-up of various themes associated with Spamton and musical cues (and sound effects) from EarthBound made into a semi-original song!

Undertale and subsequently Deltarune all happened because of Earthbound.
A lot of the sounds used for the music that helped get Undertale popular enough for Deltarune to become a thing in the first place came from Earthbound.
