"Sometimes a Take Away Show needs nothing. Sometimes you have to fight to get anything out of a session at all. Sometimes, the band is so enthusiastic that they take full control: they light the spark that will make the difference. Its only when a friend calls me that I understand that Architecture in Helsinki is in the third group: that theyll do more than just perform this Take Away Show..."

I was there. What a great summer.
thanks for this, people need to do music like this more often
One of the ambitious La Blogotheque performances i've seen. ❤
10 years on, what a great performance.
take away shows are always the best
I love when at least a bunch of people unite together and experience true love on the same vibe and are God for a moment.
the magik of takeawayshows still beats lively in the heart
6 years later and its still perfect
This is what music is all about!
Loved it!
this made me feel soooooo much joy - thank you!!!
Wow, so many years I thought of Dr. Dog. What a treasure of a song.
Imusik, Remember this is a performance/percussion song, in the middle of the street, with ad-hoc performers. She's not a chanteuse, just a lovely person doling out love to the beautiful vision of the Architecture project. A lot of what you don't like is the echo and distance of the sound from the source because of the open space.
This is so charming. I love it! Would have loved to be there.
this whole thing is so frigging cool. more bands need to be this awesome and interactive!
The life to live man.....the life to live
the drums and the chorus gives me chills
One of the best A Emporter moments!
Wow this is the art!!
That looks like it would be soo much fun!
WHOA, that crazy geometric shirt @ 01:54 is trippin out the camera
This is how music and performance should be: a free community event in the streets for everyone to take part in and enjoy.
thank you so much for your videos!!!
That was amazing!
Awesome!!!!!! ... I loved!!!!!
I asked for a kalimba for Christmas because I saw it played in this video. And I got it! :D

4:31 is just happiness galore
AMAZING !!! :)
Wonderful
SO COOL VERSION!
lablogotheque, you rock!
I don't know what either one of you are talking about.
It's not supposed to be an "improvised" set parrotsnest. It's "layered" because it's an actual song from their album, "Places Like This".
The little finger instrument is called a mbira or thumb piano.
I WANT TO BE THERE! Do it in sydney! Hehehe
Thx!
Wish I were there.
It's a thumb piano, an African instrument (also known as likembe, mbira, and a dozen other names according to Wikipedia).
that instrument the guy is playing at the beginning of the video is called an "mbira" and they're friggin awesommeeeeee.
Wow I wish I was there :D
I would've sang!
It's invigorating singing with a group of people it really is
I agree, people just don't know how cool it is until they try....

Sooo great
btw what kind of instrument was that at the beginning?
well, I know of a place, but it's a small museum store in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure you can find something on the web.
I want to be apart of something like that :)
@TunesandTones1 I read this and I was like "Oh hey Dr Dog covered it.?" So I went and listened to it. .... I agree with you.

Architecture in Helsinki...who the fuck are they? Fuck knows, but this rocks my silly little mind and is making my work day over the Christmas period much easier!
@P4UL17 It's called a Kalimba.
ua-cam.com/video/WdWUny0vf-s/v-deo.html and here is the passage-boat from Helsinki. The view from the upper deck.
That little kid is like, "Who the fuck are you?"
sloppy at the end but still fucking AWESOME
COLIMBA!
0:18 What is that instrument?
kalimba
It's a Kalimba :)
@P4UL17
African Thumb Piano.
i would give LaBlogotheque ten stars out of 5 if i could.
they're in paris
i need a marching bass drum.
wqhat kind of kalimba is that?
4:26 looks like a mix between sean william scott and ethan hawke wtf
@lostn1984 bring a marching bass drum.
I love the waitress
boom...booom...boom..boom-PANG-boom
Amazing, creative musicians. Tempo is a bit off, but who can blame them as the song is performed slower than the studio track + audience participation distractions. I can't believe I have yet to see them live.
this is the original. Dr. dog's is a cover
Was there a reason for your actions because I wrote "plzzz" instead of "please"? I'm sorry that I didn't want to type the whole word down. After all this is the internet and I am being watched by everyone. Including you. And obviously the internet and it's users are judging me based on my typing skills and how well my grammar is.
Oh and by the way, I didn't use an "apostraphe". (Which you misspelled. It's spelled a-p-o-s-t-r-o-p-h-e.) It's called an exclamation point.
makes me resent sitting in a cubicle pushin 40+ a week.
its called a kalimba
706 likes 17 dislikes.. wow
Kalimba, otherwise known as a thumb piano.
ahha i yeah i know. i just wanted to try and stir shit up. i lead a very dull existence. great fucking video though.
i seriously don't get the girl who isn't singing.
