Hi This firepit is originally a Japanese design. It first came onto the market via a Japanese company called Snowpeak. They were imported into Australia by Deifta. An Australian camping gear company. So all the brands released since are copies.
Agreed...I'm live in Malaysia and last week I bought similar design to those original Snow Peak firepit and this Kings brand but under 'Camping Moon" brand. Very sturdy and practical to use. I chosen the largest model among them which is MT055.
Hey guys, a down side of the lift out grills used for cooking can be that they are very difficult to clean and can rust, also difficult to remove. Any thoughts on these issues with regard to the Kings version?
I can't tell you yet but it's something I'll keep it mind. With a pair of leather gloves and I had no problem removing the grill plate. I will at some stage I will do long term reviews on both stove and fireplace at some stage
@@Gunnadoo I'm looking to buy one or both of these products so would be incredibly interested to see these. Particularly the folding fire pit. To see how it's faring a year on would be incredibly useful. Keep up the great content.
No rust on anything really, purchased a second one now, old one is in caravan. Only issue is that the fire pit walls crack due to the heat, doesn't effect its use but a tad disappointing, not sure if other higher price ones have the same issues or not.
This is another example of Japanese camping products being copied to almost every detail and yet these companies operate openly and in huge volumes. Please buy the original products. Japanese companies put in a lot of effort to design and manufacture great outdoor products: SnowPeak, Evernew, Captain Stag, Logos just to name a few. Get them instead of the knockoffs.
Hmmm well when I went looking for a new firepit none of your above mentioned names came up in my computer search, even now they still don't come up. There's all sorts of brands all about the same price and this one was stocked by a store on my way to the campsite so I grabbed it.
That's exactly what the Japs did in the 1950's - 1970's when they shamelessly copied every product from the West they could get their hands on. What goes around comes around.
I have the exact same Firepit and use it every time I go camping to do a roast on and found it flawless thanks for the video and I see the next one
Yes just watched your video on it and subscribed to your channel.
