- Hey folks! In today’s video we’ve got another seed Balatro run. This seed may be the most broken seed I’ve ever encountered, starting with a Negative Perkeo and Triboulet in the early antes giving the deck immediate direction and solid econ generation. To explain some of the maths in this run:
Every round, he gets 7 more Eris cards, multiplying his mult by an additional 1.5⁷. Because the plasma deck squares the resulting score, this results in a total of (1.5⁷)²=1.5¹⁴ mult scaling per round.
To find out how many e that is, you take the log base 10, which results in:
log10(1.5¹⁴) = 14 log10(1.5) = 14 * 0.176 = 2.46
So every round, he gains about e2.5.
Assuming that the game uses double precision floating point numbers, the highest number that can be represented is on the order of 10³⁰⁸, so he needs to reach above e308 so that his score goes above the highest possible number, and his score instead becomes infinity.
The point where he first goes for points instead of money while scaling at 7 Eris cards per round is at 3:03:21, where he is in ante 29 and gains a score of 7e229. To get from e229 to e308, it takes a difference of e79, and dividing that by the scaling factor of e2.5 per round, you get 31 rounds, or 10 more ante. Since he's already at ante 29, it's therefore expected that he'll reach an infinite score just in time when he reaches ante 39.
To conclude, if I had done this math while he was streaming, I would not have been confident about him actually reaching infinite points (since the calculation predicts him barely reaching it even though I rounded in a few places), and I would have urged him to keep searching for another brainstorm or blueprint early on so that he can get 8 Eris cards per round, which should have sped up his scaling enough to reach infinite points even earlier than ante 39.
Some side notes:
- Why did I say that the plasma deck squares the result?
Since the chips are basically 0 when compared to the mult, let's assume that you have a final M mult and 0 chips. They are then rebalanced to M/2 chips and M/2 mult, and multiplying those together gives you a score of M²/4. Since the factor of 1/4 is constant, you end up with effectively squaring the resulting mult.
- From where do I get that you need to take log10 to find out how many e the scaling factor is?
The meaning of 12e3 is just that it's a shorthand for 12 * 10³. If you ignore the part that isn't in the exponent, you get just 1e3 = 10³. The definition of log10 is just that if you have a number of the form 10^x, then log10(10^x) = x. In other words, the function takes a number and tells you how many e it has.

To add to this, the "glass boost" works out like so (I believe, feel free to check the working):
Each trigger is x2
Each card triggers:
- 1x base
- 1x red seal
- 1x Sock
- 3x Sock copies (blueprint or brainstorm, doesn't matter)
So 6 triggers for all 5 cards = 30 triggers.
We also get 2 extra from hanging chad, bringing the additional xMult from 5 glass to 2^32. Squaring for the final score (per the above reasoning) gives 2^64, which is 18446744073709551616, approx 1.8e19 multiplier on the non-glass score.
So in summary all glass is about 19 "e"s on top of an all gold score, which in the vid was just (within a few "e") over naneinf.

Fun Fact: this seed holds multiple wr's
(biggest constellation and highest hand lvl are the most notable)
p sure it has:
most copies of one joker (11 blueprints (i think thats the best, tell me if im wrong))
most seeded endless money (done by christopher, idk the details or if they're public, or if it was even good, all ik is i saw a sc early-ish at $100k)
previously mentioned constellation (400x~) and highest hand level (1575 four of a kind)
edit: highest hand level was taken by lukeanator by making a negative copy of every planet card to force every planet card to be pluto (its the default planet card) and getting a level 2786 high card
other ones that were given by default due to bad/lack of submissions
also, im trying to route in anaglyph deck but im struggling with motivation (i spent 60h on it, excluding the anaglyph routing)
Holy crap, this IS the strongest seed in Balatro. How do you even get that many different things from one seed? Aren't the jokers you find always the same?
@masterofdoots5965 its probably more to do so with the fact that gettung triboulet and perkeo so early enables you to do literslly whatever you want with the entire run

@masterofdoots5965 sure yes, but all the examples the comment listed are things that were seen, like getting a bunch of money can be done multiple ways, probably in this case through copying perkeo with temperance a lot. constellation was seen multiple times so that makes sense, especially since you can max constellation easily with the same strategy as the money, just copying a planet card with perkeo instead, also highest level hand and highest levelled constellation would probably be the same run, they are all basically different statistics of the same run
@@masterofdoots5965 just because the jokers are the same doesn't mean the run will play out the same, the players choices matter, Roffle was prioritizing score, if someone were going for a world record they may prioritize other things
Btw in this seed you can pick up a natural negative juggler, which gives you enough handsize combined with vouchers for a THIRD ectoplasm with flush fives.
Also if you can set it up correctly, you can get 3 negative blueprints/brainstorms via negative tags.

Just fyi, he got 7 eris per turn. That’s about 17x mult per turn but 17x on this deck basically turns to (17/2)^2 or ~73x per blind
You don’t divide by two, so its 289x per blind (compare 3:43:10 to 3:45:32)

@@brentglassman5540 Yes, but the thing is it does the division in the same way for the entire run. So like, if your starting mult is 100 (and chips are 0 because we’re in Simple Example Land) the score becomes (100/2)² = 100²/4. If we then multiply the 100 by 17 (the effect of seven negative Eris) the starting mult grows to 1700, and the calculation becomes (1700/2)² = 1700²/4. The division by four is kept the same between the two calculations, so the additional factor is just the 17².

I feel like a really good update for Balatro would be a Joker Deck and a Consumable Deck. Like take those 500+ Eris for example. It'd be nice if there were a Consumable Deck that you could stuff them into so that they only occupy one space in the Consumable Hand. Same for Jokers, with the Joker Deck being movable and scoring taking place as if the cards within were unpacked. In both cases cards within the deck can be arranged because that just makes sense. Also probably make a specific interaction with Perkeo where if Perkeo generates a consumable that is already in the Consumable Deck including being Negative, then the generated consumable goes directly into the deck.
Also chat talking about Cryptid when all you'd need for money maxing would be any new playing card and a Death. Five hands to play, 4/4/4/4/5 is 21 which plays out the whole deck. It'd probably make Four of a Kind overtake Five of a Kind as most played hand after a while, but that'd largely be irrelevant since actually using Eris from Celestial Packs is virtually nothing as far as scoring goes.
Chicot is Perkeo tier if you get dupes, Retcon, and utilize the forbidden technique.
Polychrome anything is for sure the best start to building a card since there's no reliable way to get Polychrome onto a playing card. Red Seal has Deja Vu, the suit and Steel/Glass/etc has their Tarot Cards, but the best you can do for Polychrome is to throw an Aura at it and hope.

Got a tip for times when you have to dig through your stack of consumables for death behind a fool that doesn't involve busting out a controller. You can select the front card (fool) so it raises up a little bit, then click just below it to easily use/move the second card in the stack.

little math thing you got 7 eris per turn which increases your score by 1.5^7 a turn, that is 17.09 (thats the multiplier if you werent on plasma deck) on plasma deck the calculation would become (1.5^7/2)^2=72.98 which means that only the eris would already increase your score by *72.98 per blind.
You don't need to divide by 2 because it divides by 2 every round.
The net change from one round to the next is just the (1.5^7)^2

It might be everytime you did the Perkeo copy swarm on the Eris cards, those collectively bursts lf copies add 2.5 to the mult score Everytime

Dammit, Roffle! I had an entire week of stuff planned around the house. Now I need to spend the entire time playing this seed because there’s totally nothing addictive about Balatro.
Been watching for a few months. Today you got the sub.
For future note, you can press and hold X on PS Controller (or A on XBox) to move a card.
As someone with very little programming experience, looking at all the if statements gave me a big headache. But I realize that I never could have made this game myself- if the spaghetti works, it works!

Not that it matters but I think 4 and 2 is slightly stronger with idol and poly chrome cuz 3*(3trib + idol + card chrome) < 4*(2trib + idol + card chrome). It nets an additional 5 poly chrome triggers which is like an extra e
In the middle of this run now, there is a natural negative +1 hand size around ante 24 that allows you to use a third ectoplasm

I came across a similar seed with Triboulet, Perkeo, S&B, 2 Blueprint, 3 Brainstorm, Hanging Chad, Bloodstone and Oops all 6s. Only be able to reach Ante 36 but still very crazy.

hey roffle! just giving a little tip for next time you have that many things in the consumable slots, if you hover you mouse under them it makes it easier to select the planet/spectral/tarot card you want to use, rather than having your mouse hovering on the cards!
