In today's video, we button everything up in the engine bay and attempt the first start in the WRX with the fully built IAG Short block & Maperformance stage 1 head. Over the past week we completely transformed this car with brand new bolt ons and fully built engine.. will it pay off?

You have to experience driving a raptor. As you get older and have children you want to have something fun to drive but can take your family everywhere. I now have a raptor, and I love it. I drive my wrx on the weekends now.
Dude the turbo noise out of the exhaust is so nice. I know it's probably hard being away from home all the time but damn does this look like fun. Great work as always. AND it's great to have friends like Kyle. He's super smart!
As a former 2018 WRX owner with full bolt on’s minus upgraded turbo and running water/ methanol I approve of this content! Also-personally, I prefer coil-overs to bags every day of the week and twice on Sunday!
So excited to see the subie back, but 2 things are bugging me. 1. Going from front mount to top mount(makes no sense performance wise) and 2. Going back to a plastic intake manifold... for the same reason when you had the nice red one before

like i said in the video. We are using all MAP parts. unfortunately they dont make a FMIC. The BRZ intake manifold only works with a FMIC. Performance wise, it's not that big of a deal. I dont track this car and the gains on street driving are minimal. In the future i will most likely switch to my previous set up. For now, this is just fine.
@@dustiinw yeah i get that still love the build. I can’t wait to see it on the dyno. The varis bumper just looks so good with a FMIC haha.
TMIC is better under 450WHP. The biggest issue is not having an STi transmission. It’s basically mandatory at this level and I don’t understand why it isn’t being included in this “dream” build.

So glad we got some scooby content back on the channel. No offense to any other builds because I am a huge Honda geek myself but I own a 2013 Hatch STI and it’s good to see some scooby content back on here! Lots of questions I see about your setup and everyone is making solid points but I understand why you made this decision for now and how unique this build is. Sur is obviously not going for big power but more of a daily setup where it’s affordable for most watching these type of contents. Makes sense if you ask me and makes that scooby more unique. Good shit Dut.
Love to see the WRX back! Any reason why you're breaking in with full synthetic though? I've just gone through a new engine break-in as well, and IAG is very specific on using conventional oil to break in the engine until 3,000 miles (after a first start, 50mi, 500mi and 1500mi change interval), so it can properly break in the rings and other surfaces.
With the air setup, def hit up Bagriders and see if they can help out out once the car gets back to Cali! Randy might be able to help you out, he got the plug on his Japan Ferrari.
it's not full synthetic. i have specific "break in" oil we are using

For the car not being tuned yet it’s still sounds filthy when it’s all said and done gonna be cool to see car back running again on channel
Do a "Parish" Truck. From my hometown of Omaha,NE and one of the O.G.'s of 1320, Parish's Truck was a legendary 1200-1400whp beast that looked completely stock. Dustin you're killing it with the WRX build, sorry about the air suspension. The sound of your new WRX build is beastly. I can't wait to see it on the track.
A OBS F250/F350 build would be amazing! It hurts my soul to see that midwest rust on such an awesome truck
Absolutely stoked for the content🔥 Bought a 2018 WRX shortly before you started this project again at the beginning of the year. Currently stock engine, j-pipe, and tmic, but I have the same turbo and almost identical mods to your old build except for the fmic and jpipe.
I completely understand why you decided to go TMIC due to CARB laws, I’m have similar issues in NC with emissions laws. Much easier to toss the TGV’s back on and run it being CARB legal rather than fighting it. Best of luck on the dyno! Can’t wait to see more content! I’ll be up at Laguna Seca for the IndyCar race if you’ll be up there again this year.

Went back to plastic manifold and IBR just came out with conversions for the BRZ manifold with full emissions 🙃😂
Hope the fuel stuff comes in, and can't wait to see what this thing makes on the dyno tomorrow! Kinda sad that you went back to the stock intake manifold setup, but oh well. Maybe upgrade it in the future? Lol.

With the equal length headers there's no subie noise sounds like a Honda or evo
I have an ACT HDSS clutch in my car with the BRZ flywheel, LOOOVE how loud it is. The clutch chatter sounds just like forza when you fully upgrade the transmission😂 also my TOB was squeaky too, it happens for the first hundred or so miles and it’ll slowly go away

VERY similar to what I'm in the process of. I'm running a process west intake manifold for the port injection, Ive noticed that youre planning on doing port injection, which manifold are you going to run? Also are you doing a piggy back to control the port injectors or Motec? I'm running MoTeC for it for a few obvious reasons (I don't live in California).

If you’re doing this CARB legal, does MAP Performance have a CARB legal Stage 1 tune for the AP to replace the COBB tune?
We will have a custom tune for the car
@@dustiinw you should ask them to do a CARB legal Stage 1 OTS! They used to sell the non CARB legal and it was a huge improvement over COBB.

Please tell me you’re upgrading to an STI transmission. The FA 6 speeds are almost as weak as the previous gen 5 speeds.
