How To Play Xenoverse 2 Mods ONLINE with Friends (LEGALLY)

- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has infinite mods that add characters such as Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, and many more, but did you know it's also possible to play ONLINE with friends!?

As the person who Rhymestyle was beating up in this video, he left out an important detail:
When you install the Xenoverse patcher to actually use mods (again, find a different video on how to do it), you need to edit a value in said patcher. So go into the XV2PATCHER folder in your Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 directory and find a file called XV2Patcher.ini. Open it with Notepad, and do Ctrl+F search for the word "excessive". You'll find a value called "excessive_air_contamination", and it will be set to false. In order to actually connect to the Xenoverse servers with mods, you need to set it to true. So it would say "excessive_air_contamination = true".

@@VGGamess Nah I'm on PC. You can do it for console but I believe it requires a lot of extra work and some other actual parts. Doing it for PC was relatively easy once I understood what I'm doing.
He barely explained a damn thing and left out one of the most important details for connecting to the multiplayer. This video was rushed and terrible.

When doing the mods and installing them, I simply download all of the mods we both want then send over the data folder as that's where everything is contained. It hasn't broken on me yet so I think it's a super viable method if you want to install tons of mods for the both of you. Just make sure the mods actually work before sending the data folder over.

@@abrantp3666 No, you use the eternity tools Rhyme mentioned in order to install them but all the data from those mods are in the data folder. I zipped up the data, emailed to my friend and they extracted the data folder to their XenoVerse 2 Directory. That allows them to have the exact same mods as me with no conflicts.

The best way to do it is this in my opinion. I have multiple thousand of mods and dont have to think about us all doing it in the same way.
You : Install Mods, and change the ini file to have excessive_air_contamination to true and save it. Make a rar of your XV2 data folder and the ini file, and send that to your friend
Friend : Downloads the rar, and installs it to their game.
I found its very very easy to mess up installing things in the right order, its way better to just have the exact same data folder. Even just the character select being different can mess things up. XV2 Mods run off of your data folder, so if your data folders are the same, you're good.

thanks ryhme, we were struggling with mods, we thought it was the among us mod(dont ask) but it was because we had them in different orders, this helped and now we having the time of our lives
TLDR: You can only play online with mods if both people have it.

you spent 4 minutes running your mouth and never answered the question. HOW DO YOU PLAY ONLINE WITH MODS? do you install a 3rd party program? Do you just have to load into single player and do some matchmaking bs? you spent the entire time repeating the same basic information without actually saying anything.
The real tutorial should be how do you make friends to play with? 🤔

another easy thing you can do thats left out is you can transfer mods via data folder so you can have the exactly the same mods
as your friends
The data folder is your mods all compiled together so you can make a copy of your data send it to your friends and they have the same mods.
@Volt_711 it saves so don’t worry download all the mods u need take the data after all that copy send it through your friends with the methods u want to do.

gonna shout out a great aura mod that came out recently which is shakaros aura pack. makes the auras just so much nicer looking imo! also if you want a cool character that has a cool custom counter check out gamerchiefs super android 13!
Im not a big fan of aura mods only because they get too in the way sometimes
Revamp adds custom auras so don't worry too much about it
Question; can you do this with Parallel quest? How do you get friends to play with you if its on offline since its without EAC?

This doesnt work, it wont let me start a player match because"Game was started without EAC, multiplayer matches wont be possible". How do I fix this?

Me and my friend have been trying this all day, we get into the lobby but we don't go to the character select screen, it's just stuck at 0 on the timer. Any ideas what's causing this
Don't you have to disable the anti cheat which would make connecting to servers not possible in the first place?
I believe so. Ive personally never tried multi lobby with mods installed. I just always go into Single lobby -> Online -> invite friend and it works

so revamp works just fine but even if we only install a single other character mod it gives us the unknown character bug and crashes our games
me and my friend have 334 mods installed , literally the same amount but whenever we test to see if we can load in a game with each other it crashes , any help ?

I have ONE question tho... I know how to install mods and now I know how to play online with friends, thanks to you, but... How can I stop my Xenoverse 2 from crashing after any quest, Raid Boss, or PvP match? I have NOT been able to fix this for about more than a year now. I can't enjoy the game without it from crashing, and I've tried lowering the quality of the game since I don't have a SUPER high end PC, but it's still very functional to play big and good looking games.

Can somebody help me my friend sent over his data folder but the mods werent there when I loaded up the game. Also we installed the same mods in the same order but for some reason the character he picks end up being one slot off the one he should be for me and the same goes for him too. Any Idea? This is not to be confused with cheaters. This is just for extra characters, maps, etc. These will also only work with friends.

tbh it's dumb to me we can not have moded servers on pc I mean the game is old asf but on pc it is so much fun i really wish we didn't have to have the same mods as my friends i rather surprise them with my strong characters
