Too many moving parts. People over the years have gotten to used to being comfortable in every way. Life isn't worse because you don't have every luxury item at all times.
Don’t have to worry about this problem with my old 02 Silverado I bought new and still own! Still has original alternator ,check engine light has never came on once, my 2023 Colorado Trail Boss engine light came on at 200 miles 😖

Should just detect that a trailer is plugged in (via light connector) and do it automatically (maybe give an override option incase of a malfunction)

Instead of engineering fancy tailgates they should be spending their money on learning how to make a transmission that lasts more than 40-60k miles. 🤣

A more complicated tailgate than a tailgate needs to be.
Buttons for a tailgate... more stuff to go wrong and keep you broke.
Maybe it's useful, but seems really gimmicky. But I know plenty of people who are totally sucked in by useless gimmicks like that.
Mine is a two function.
ive used the new button electronic tailgate. the button plastic holder is falling off the tailgate metal with only 10k miles use.
This is a great feature for those that need a lawn mower that shuts off when Handel is released and safely gas can lovers

The multi flex tailgate is what sold me on GM over the competition. That and the 3.0L Duramax.

The multi tailgate is really not needed.. anyone who's using a pickup for work, should be able to load it at normal height.
Just have to remember that every time you tow something...you are guaranteed to remember this after you or other damages a very expensive tailgate....
