Impressive video! I love how fluid she is when speaking and her voice is beautiful. Sometimes when listening to non-native speakers, even those at an advanced level, you can hear that they sound like a foreigner speaking Korean, but she has really grasped the intonation and pacing. She also seems to be very comfortable, so she sounds natural, at least to me. Well done!

it's all about keeping it fun. Whether it's reading lyrics to your favorite kpop group and trying to sing along. Or maybe reenacting scene from kdramas or watching Korean UA-camrs. It's very easy to stay stagnant with textbooks and etc. Also, I studied korean on and off for 5 years (I'm barely high intermediate though, maybe even just intermediate) and I made the mistake of depending on quizlet vocab lists without context and not practicing by making my own sentences or speaking aloud to myself often enough. Just keep making it fun, maybe set small but manageable goals (sometimes I listen to my favorite kpop song and see how much of it can I understand more than before).
This video was really inspirational, thank you. As a Korean language learner I'm not as diligent as this woman but respect her for her hardworking personality. @@hopeworld5869 Hi 👋 Thank you for asking. Interestingly, a friend of mine is Japanese and is fluent in both Japanese and English and has taught both languages in both the US and Japan. She told me that she started teaching again using an online platform called Verbling. That peaked my interest so I did a free class with her just to try it. I didn’t want to study Japanese so I started looking at the Korean teachers. I read their bios and watched their introduction videos and that is how I found my teacher. She's so good bruh 😭 I've been learning for 5 years now and nowhere near her level. I could understand 95 - 90% of what she said (while looking at the korean subtitles) but me actually talking the language myself is sth else...sometimes I worry and get anxious if I will EVER be able to get fluent in this language and hold real, deep conversations
There's nothing to worry about. You can reach this level as well if you put in the time and hard work. With 17 years of experience there's no doubt she has spent over 20,000 hours on Korean ~ most likely a LOT more considering she lives in Korea and used it in college, and now for work and family life. If you can understand 95% of this you're already at a high level. At this level focus on your weak points and spend more time on things you want to be good at.
I said the same thing when I first moved to an English speaking country but after 4 years I was pretty fluent! It's definitely possible, it'll just take time and effort!

I'm obviously not the best judge but her pronunciation and overall fluidity when she was speaking seemed really natural. At the moment I can't even picture myself at her level, but that level of fluent is my goal ❤️❤️❤️

Awesome, she really went far! I agree that Korean wasn’t popular at all in the 2000s (at least outside of Japan or East Asia), but that’s really changed in the last decade. There are many more resources nowadays too :) Her story is inspiring! I may not be the best judge, but she sounds so natural and speaks fluently 😀
She gives a little of twice jihyo and seventeen scoups vibe to me😍😍 She is very cute and beautiful... Her persistence in learning Korean is indeed on another level and I salute you for that... Saranghae Chan Chan❤️❤️
Wow speaking that language for more than a decade is no mean feat. I do agree that if you dun give up you will eventually reach that fluency, given constant learning and exposure. What she did was pretty much what I have done for abt a year and now I could understand everything she said. Speaking is an issue though, hoping to travel to Korea for an immersion prog to obtain that breakthrough soon ^^
i talk to strangers here in Korea 😂 even if it makes me a bit of a weirdo, im already weird for being foreign in a small town and it helps me study and practice
Perhaps it was just a coincidence but when I visited Korea my impression was that strangers were quite friendly. For example, I exprienced quite a few times that an ajumma or 할머니 would come up to me asking for directions or when I was sitting at this bench before times square mall this 할머니 kept talking to me and showing pics of her grandkids on her phone. She looked so happy I just kept nodding and smiled at her as a response lolll or maybe i just attract ajumma's 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ anyway Chan Chan is so pretty and smart~
It is normal for her to speak this well since she started to study young then move to the country. I will be impressed with someone that is over 45 years old and start studying korean on their own and will speak this well in few years

I really think this video will help me push through my struggles! Thank you TTMIK and chan chan for this video! I will definitely use the tips and encouraging words😊
wow she’s such an inspiration😳😳 I wish to get to a phd in Korean too!
I think she did alot of shadowing. Repeating natives verbatim. Because she Said she watched this Korean drama over and over again.
@@nicoleraheem1195 I thought I was bad having watch my two fav kdramas around 4 times now but now I feel like 20 times won't be so bad either . Next step watching them with korean CC only .

I really enjoy these sort of interviews. Please do more.
Ps Chan-Chan, I am really impressed with your Korean. I thought you were a native speaker at first until you said you were from Myanmar
She speaks Korean so fluently and very well. I hope can be good as her someday. I am studying with TTMIK so it just maybe possible ☺️
Your Korean is very natural! 😍 Thank you for inspiring ❤🥰🫶❤
As someone who just finished the first ttmik book I found this interview very helpful and insipiring.
When I finished the book I started thinking "oh, 9 more to go, such a long process" but then this interview appears on my tl and seeing her speak so beautifuly really gave me the boost I needed to keep learning.
Thank you so much for this, It would be nice if you guys could bring more self-learners students so we can relate and stay motivated.
i will try her way of mimicking the characters of the film next time. Thanks for sharing your story.
I'm so glad to see you in TTMIK. Love TTMIK Team and Chan Chan from Myanmar ❤️❤️❤️
so great to see you here, Syama Chan Chan🤗
Thank you TTMIK for having this interview with Teacher Chan Chan. ♥️
I love these interviews! She's so cool!
I'm a annual subscriber at TTMIK and I'm from Myanmar. I'm so proud of having someone like Tr. Chan Chan and have so much motivation to learn Korean more.
I loved this girl!💖 I'm so glad you invited her, she became a big inspiration for me✨ I first started learning korean for k-pop, but then I fell in love with it's culture and also realized that I love languages😻💘 So now I am studying korean and other languages because I love them and I want to make a language career and live from them💖 Ttmik
Ahhhhh teacher chan Chan😭💕
I love her voice🫶🏾 such an inspiring lady 🌸🥰 Thank you for your advice
Wow.............. she's amazing......hope one day I'll also speak Korean like her... 💖
Wow! This video was truly inspiring! I've been interested in the Korean culture for a while (Kpop, kdrama, kfood, architecture, etc.) but I only really started learning the language this year. I'm already using TTMIK's content and now I'm definitely going to take a look at her channel. I'm obviously not the best judge but her pronunciation and overall fluidity when she was speaking seemed really natural. At the moment I can't even picture myself at her level, but that level of fluent is my goal ❤️❤️❤️
Upload many vedios like this so inspiring to learn korean and luv u ttmik team good hard working.. 🙏
her korean is great!
I WATCHED THIS ENTIRE VIDEO WITHOUT THE ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS AND STILL MANAGED TO GENERALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE SAID!!!! (but i still had to follow along with the subtitles cuz my listening skills are trash)
I am from Myanmar. so proud for you💙
She is more than a lady to me. She is everything I look up to. ♥I hope someday I can be like her too.👀super amazing person
❤️👧
Not only incredibly smart but so pretty 🤩
Awesome, she really went far! I agree that Korean wasn’t popular at all in the 2000s (at least outside of Japan or East Asia), but that’s really changed in the last decade. There are many more resources nowadays too :) Her story is inspiring! I may not be the best judge, but she sounds so natural and speaks fluently 😀
She gives a little of twice jihyo and seventeen scoups vibe to me😍😍 She is very cute and beautiful... Her persistence in learning Korean is indeed on another level and I salute you for that... Saranghae Chan Chan❤️❤️
What an inspiration!
Proud of being Myanmar citizen ✨💙🇲🇲
Wow speaking that language for more than a decade is no mean feat. I do agree that if you dun give up you will eventually reach that fluency, given constant learning and exposure. What she did was pretty much what I have done for abt a year and now I could understand everything she said. Speaking is an issue though, hoping to travel to Korea for an immersion prog to obtain that breakthrough soon ^^
She so amazing 🤩
I saw hwe on my neighbour Charles and she was so lovely and beautiful an only child who has been through so much. Racism in Korea yet she perserves
She's a legend!
i talk to strangers here in Korea 😂 even if it makes me a bit of a weirdo, im already weird for being foreign in a small town and it helps me study and practice
Teacher chan chan so beautiful
Thanks for uploading
I will be impressed with someone that is over 45 years old and start studying korean on their own and will speak this well in few years
This is a great video.🙌🏾
Omg!!! I can't wait 🙈🙈
Woww How fluent...😍😍🥺🥺i want to be like her 😭😭
i'm so excited to get better in korean after watching this :D
She's so pretty
I'm so jealous. I feel like I know so much Korean but when it comes to speaking it I have 0% confidence. I hope to sound like her one day.
Now I`m going to binge watch this video to motivate myself, note the conversation and mimick her to speak like that hahahaha
I'm just to lazy but this year I did more. I can finally tell the time and I can count. Vocabulary is so important
Yess it's right.. I am also lazy. But I have learnt all the alphabets and some vocabularies.. m only at beginner level.. now I want to learn it seriously
You represent
She's so beautiful 😯😯😍😍😍
Wow! You are so pretty!
Our Princess from Myanmar 💛😘
