  • In this video I’m recovering from Covid while in San Diego, but I need to get better because I have a preplanned vacation with Joe and Joelle, who are our friends and neighbors. They will come and stay with us for a week. We plan on going to Kona, swimming at Kua bay. Then going to check in our room in outrigger hotel. Manama ray snorkeling. The next day we go to coffee shack and enjoy the view,

    Aloha to you🌴🌴😁, wow, where to begin. First, so sorry about you both catching Covid. That I have not experienced yet. I can only imagine how it affected your other condition. Grateful you have recovered and are back in the land of the healing. How special to share with your friends. I must say I was going to tell you about the coffee shack. I have eaten in that very spot numerous times. The views are indeed incredible. I love their Keylime pie.( if it’s your birthday-a piece is free) I generally buy an entire pie and take it back to our house to enjoy.
    I so enjoyed your description of how the ocean and all things around it melt into an entire “ feeling “ in your life and mind and body-I experience the same reaction. Thank you for expressing it so beautifully. Enjoy your continued healing on every trip you get to take to your home in Hawaii 🌴🌴Mahalo and blessings to you and your journey/life! David in Oregon 🌴🌴😁🥰

      I’m sooooo happy we recovered from the Covid and even happier you never had it. Believe me it’s not fun. It’s like a very intense flu. My birthday came and went after I caught it. I heard their lilikoi cheese cake is phenomenal but key lime also? I have to try it next time. Makes me happy to hear you liked my video. I want you to know I appreciate your notes and really enjoy them. You take care and DO NOT catch COVID, and I’ll talk to you in the next video.

      Aloha beautiful lady. Yes that was our first Covid ever and man it made regular flu look like a simple sneeze, but thank god no residuals for either one of us. Ahhhh Kona sunsets are unbeatable for sure. Can never get enough of them. So interesting you’ve been in the same coffee shack. I heard their lilikoi cheesecake and key lime cheese cakes are the best but we were too full to eat any desert 😁. As always thank you for watching

    I just got back from Pahoa..... I stayed on the incredible "papaya farms road" basically I think it's not too far from where you are at and many the spots you show in this video I was there at that place.... & I did spend time in Kona.... I went to "Huggo's"great food great service and really great views.

      I’m so happy to hear you had a great time. I wasn’t aware that there are places to stay on the Papaya farms road. The government beach road is just too beautiful and where I hang out almost every single day. Kona is also beautiful. Hold on to your precious memories of big island

      We are always grateful for those yummy papayas. They’re getting so tall that the fruit picker can’t reach, but new trees will pop up I’m sure. Thank you for watching and thank you for your generosity.

    Aloha, it’s me again- sorry to bother you but it was my birthday yesterday, and today was sure a beautiful day outside-so I’m feeling pretty good! I came in for lunch and just had to watch again my favorite UA-cam Pal. Each time I watch you for a second time I always see things that I missed the first time. I have to agree with the last comment where they said you can’t look bad-they are right! Hawaii is so Good for you and such a healing place. When Michael retires, are you going there full time?
    Mahalo for accepting my second comment-it’s the end of a great day and just wanted to send Aloha to my favorite place/pal. 🌴🌴David from Oregon 😁🌴

      Good morning Dave. You can leave as many messages as you like anytime. Happy belated birthday to you. Hope you did what made you happy. Mine came and went in the blur of Covid, but I usually don’t celebrate mine anyways, since I don’t know when my real birthday is (long story). I’m really not sure if Micheal will retire in Hawaii or not. He is the kind of person who needs to stay very busy and Hawaiian life is too slow for him, but that’s not to say it’s impossible. He really needs to adapt to a quieter kind of life. We shall see. A new video is uploading so please look for it. By the way you can connect thru social media as well. Take care David from Oregon. Aloha...Thank you for all the great videos you are making, I've been wanting to relocate to Hawaii. Looking at Oahu, but considering Big Island as well. My greatest concern is I'm coming from SoCal and not sure how much of a lifestyle adjustment would it affect me and my family, especially going to the Big Island where it is rural and doesn't have all the amenities the mainland offer, plus it rains like seattle as well...pls advise, thank you.

    • @Nastaran.Battles
      @Nastaran.Battles  3 місяці тому

      Hello dear, and thank you so much for watching and enjoying. Your concern about the difference between the lifestyles is very valid. I am from San Diego as well and also lived in Oahu for three years and all of those lifestyles are so far away from each other. In San Diego or anywhere else in SoCal, people are used to the hustle and bustle of daily life have so many resources available to them as far as places to shop entertainments to fall back on, and that is not even close in Hawaii. My husband still has a hard time settling down into the slow life in Hawaii and I know it will probably never be easy for him. It was a lot easier for me because I am not one of those people who needs to go out or do things to be entertained I spend most of my time at home, so for me, this was easy. I welcome the slow kind of life in Hawaii and looked forward to it. So realizing that you probably won’t have the same access to resources or places to go to as far as passive entertainment is half the accomplishment. It really is a different kind of mindset that you need to prepare your yourself ready for and will it in your mind . People do get used to it and you can still be as busy as you like by going to hundreds of different places and things to do that usually involves nature water, hiking, and things of that sort. I hope this helps and don’t hesitate to ask any other questions. Thank you for watching

      Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate your candid outlook and advice. How much rain do you get there is it like Seattle type of rain and weather?

    • @Nastaran.Battles
      @Nastaran.Battles  3 місяці тому

      @@tomthai5019 i’ve never been to Seattle before, but that was one thing that scared me as well. When I got there, it was unusually rainy. We were going through the Kona low storm and it rained every day for two weeks. And I thought I made a mistake however, people told me no that’s not the way it is and the sun did come out but I would say it probably rains and fallen winter. Almost every day but quick short showers in summertime. You get a lot more sunny days with overnight showers. Overnight and morning showers are almost every single day which is great you don’t have to water your garden at all. in Kona, you get very hot and dry weather very little rain. I personally don’t mind the east side of the big island rain because it keeps everything so lush and green. It’s actually very relaxing.
