@Sleepingcoffee979 i thought so as well, definitely Nen, but I wonder if all the calamities in DC are innately born as Nen abilities. It must be. Because the CA is from DC, but not all of them are born with Nen. So Nanika might just be a supernatural power from DC. I have my doubts sometimes, love the uncertainty.
Illumi is my favorite. I can write essays about him, he is such an interesting and complex character. All of the zoldyck dynamics are so good to analyze under the eyes of abusive and narcisistic families. Illumi to me is a very tragic character. A simple way to view his storyline is as a doll. A broken one. Like the ones made of ceramic in asia, if you look for them you'll notice some of the resemblance. He's even described as such: someone beautiful with eyes so empty and no will to live. His main problem is control or the lack he has of it in his life. You didn't comment on it here but the part where we know of how it was their father who told illumi to put the needle is important for the overall zoldyck dynamic. His father portrays himself infront of killua as strict but benevolent. And he gives all the hard and traumatic decisions onto others while still being the one with the final say. He gives illumi the illusion of control and choice to be the one to train and take care of killua. So, Illumi does love Killua. Obssesivly so, because he is his anchor, his choice. But only because his father is playing with him and using him like a doll. Could write more but that is for future episodes.
But then Zeno and Maha is still a mystery, they must have some code of honor. Silva is a cryptic fella, he is deceptive and sincere at the same time, one can be straight forward and still concealing the most important emotions. Kikyo, Illumi, Milluki, Kalluto are all ruthless but also submissive. They are slaves to a perceived destiny, they don't seem to have much agency on their own. Illumi is dangerous because he doesn't really know who he us, yet he is so well trained and programmed, he doesn't seem to have any personal desire, like you said, so his anchor can never be solid, it will always be shape-shifting. You are right about Silva knowing exactly how to manage the siblings dynamic, in a way that his hands seem invisible yet everything is on him, must be. Zeno is letting the grandchildren be independent, but his lack of involvement is also a sign of respect to Silva. The Zoldycks is definitely entertaining.
the lyrics for the ending track goes perfectly with this arc too. I love this line : " ....and I finally learn that everything will eventually vanish, therefore I won't let go of your hands....." J'adore !!!!
The most important part of this situation is that Illumi states healing Gon would cost ten's of thousands of lives... lowball 10,001 Highball 90,000. That would basically mean everyone we've encountered the entire show will die. Hisoka, Killua's family, Kurapika, everyone Killua spent any time with basically until it kills the required amount.
Nah, thats because if the wish is granted, the next one will cost that, so no one should take request because she will literally request a thousand of lives before giving anymore wishes, but if Alluka is chilling she can change that, is like a rule by herself, but like herself, she can change it, he is afraide because he knows how it works, if killua want it, he can kill all of his family by simply dont do what Alluka wants.
Alluka was biologically born a male, but she identifies herself as a girl. Since nobody in the Zoldycks consider her family, or a human being for that matter, they don't care about her feelings and still refer to her by her biological gender: a male. But Killua is the only exception, respecting Alluka's wishes and using her pronouns correctly.
@@AVarghul i truly do not care either way but you’re wrong to be stating this as fact let alone implying the fairly obvious and way more likely option that it’s just a translation thing is an anti trans stance
We dont even know that Alluka was born in a normal way, for all we know Alluka and Nanika could both be from the Dark Continent. We sill dont know how Nanika one of the 5 calamties ended up in Allukas body, or if this is even Allukas body. Its all pretty pointless, but way too many people project stuff into that Character to make them feel better.
@@henriklarssen1331 It's not about projecting, it's about theorising and looking for an answer. Occam's razor is the best way to find the answer to a question, in this case, it makes the most sense that her being trans is an assumption people would make, given we have no evidence for anything else. Personally, I think this works best, but also since I already believed it, I ended up thinking it through(not up to date with the manga so might already be disproven), and imo the Zoldyck's wouldn't want a biologically female hier since, as assassins, a male body is capable of more potential. This led me to believe that by way of Nen or worse, they only had male hiers. Whether they just don't (want to) understand Alluka's gender(out of fear or other wise), or actively dismiss it, idk. But I think the theory of her being trans makes sense and is a logical conclusion to come to.
To clear Alluka's gender. It appears that she was born a male, but has always acted like a little girl, and Killua is the only one who treats her as such. Nanika is considered as an "it" rather than anything else.
It's a bit spoilery, but Alluka is and has always been a girl. It's that the family doesn't consider Alluka to be _human_ at all (and they are right, Alluka is not human). This is a translation issue, not a transgender issue.
@@grimscaralluka is not nanika. She is human(but her family don’t understand that). Illumi and Milluki called her brother. Silva used “he” in flashback when they consider Alluka as their human child. Even Morel called her “your little brother” when Killua explained him the whole situation with Alluka. But Killua called her a sister. It’s not so hard to understand. And Togashi always liked that androgynous/trans thing
No, Killua is just the only one that uses gendered speech when referring to Alluka. The rest don't consider her a human so they use non-gendered speech that got improperly translated to "he/him/his" when it should more accurately have been "it/its"
Alllwayss here for an episode of Hunterrrr🔥🔥 I'm crying over Violet ep.10 rn and you drop this😂❤ Also, about the names of the siblings : IlluMI MIlluKI KIlluA AlluKA KAlluTO TOMPA😂😂😂😂 Love you LM❤❤
The fact that Illumi is so delusional that he genuinely believes Killua loves him most of all and it throws Hisoka off will never get old. HxH humor is so underrated. The rules of Alluka/Nanika's powers and the implied hidden ones are so important to understand in depth because they are setting up for the big twist and message of this arc which so many people mistakenly call a cheap asspull/plot convenience/cop out when it's the furthest thing from that. Togashi's writing in this arc is honestly so masterful it rivals even the best of the Chimera Ant and the Yorknew arc.
Please don't spoil stuff. You basically spellt it out that there's going to be a big twist at the end of the arc and how a lot of fans call it an asspull. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what this twist could be.
It's still a copout for plot convenience. Yes, it ends up as a great arc and character dynamic, but it's still a copout to Gon's contract. Previously, every single power and ability in the entire story was explained by the nen system. That's part of the appeal: a hard magic system with clearly defined rules. Freedom, creativity, but rules. Everything from electricity, to seeing the future in poems, to to Gon's contract itself. And powerful abilities had drawbacks, whether it be charge time or conditions. However, Gon made his resolve and got the power he wished for. How can we possibly use a creative Nen use or combination to undo this contract, or somehow work with it? ... Can't think of anything, so let's simply add a completely unforeshadowed, op, unlimited, no condition or cost power that neatly fixes the problem. It breaks the power system and all the previously established rules with 0 foreshadowing. It's bad writing in that sense. It is indeed a copout+plot convenience.
Illumi thinks Killua loves him, and to some extend it is a forced love because Illumi put a needle in Killua's head and the voices Killua hears is his. So Illumi was in Killua's head for a long time. Killua was imprisoned by that needle for years. So Illumi assumes that by putting that needle there, he is the closest to Killua. It is blackmail basically. Killua considers Illumi his brother but doesn't love any other siblings the genuine and pure ways he loves Alluka. I think Killua respects members of his family but true love is only reserved for Alluka, because she is innocent and is not tainted by the Zoldyck's mentality and programm. Killua is drawn to innocent creatures, with code of honor. Like Gon and Ikalgo.
@@Tuga12 Weirder than the proponents of an ideology that get defensive over a fictional character that is super young, abused, and neglected that when that same character identifies as something that they are not, it's somehow empowering? I think not.
The names of the siblings of the Zoldyck Family are linked in a string of beads. Illumi (eldest son, wants to keep Killua under control) Milluki (second son, fat) Killua (third son, Gon's friend) Alluka (fourth son, erase his existence) Kalluto (fifth son, appeared as a member of the Phantom Troupe in the Greed Island Arc) The Zordic family is supposed to be treated as male even if they are female. Alluka and Kalluto look like girls, but their genders are not revealed in the setting.
Alluka was assigned male at birth, but identifies as female. Killua is the only one who correctly calls her she, the rest of her family refuse to accept her gender identity. Killua is a good brother.
i don't buy that theory because they could've easily forced her to identify as a boy if that was the case, or at least not dress her like a girl. Like, why buy her clearly female clothes and then call her by a male pronoun ? Makes no sense.
Nanika literally means "something" or "anything" in Japanese. I think it's an appropriate translation because it "is" something. Unlike Senritsu, who the subtitles and manga translation call "Melody", which is the right translation, but SHOULDN'T be translated in the first place, because Senritsu is her fuckin proper name
Remember they already found a Nen exorcist in Greed Island called Abengane. There's a cover of one of the chapters in the manga from Chimera Ant arc that shows Hisoka and Abengane meeting Chrollo, so Chrollo might already be able to use Nen at this point, or at least, they've already met
Kalluto: a boy who identifies as a boy but crossdresses in more feminine clothing Alluka: a trans girl, but only Killua acknowledges it in the family Use "he" for Kalluto and "she" for Alluka/Nanika
@@klasse4311 Killua calls Alluka " She " because he knows that she is his sister. Plus how could Alluka be a trans if she didn't read or encounter any gender identity movement in her life ( She was basically Locked up for all her childhood ). and besides that the Zoldics are not the ones who can choose the Identity of Alluka. She is a normal girl, no matter what her psychotic family call her.
@@topboss8113 uhh so you're saying that the Zoldycks don't know that she was assigned female at birth but Killua somehow knows? You're not providing any explanation how that makes sense beyond saying they're psychotic which has no inherent correlation to any of this. **SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 141** Killua also calls Alluka his "brother" to Morel on the airship to avoid confusion because public knowledge of the family state they have 5 "sons" as seen in the first episode of the Zoldyck arc earlier in the show when the tour guide speaks about them. It's not that she was assigned female at birth and the Zoldyck family somehow confused her with a boy (again, how??) but that she was assigned male at birth and later chose to identify as a girl There's a lot of analysis on the use of pronouns in the Japanese text for the Election arc in regards to Alluka but that's too much to explain in here but you can probably find it if you look up for it It's not a rule that you have to read up on gender movement to become trans, it's simply based on a feeling for a lot of people. Alluka probably felt that she wanted to be a girl and began dressing as one too when compared to her more boyish/ambiguous clothing in the flashbacks Finally I don't see why people are so weirded out by this. This isn't the first time nor the second time Togashi has written a trans character or played around with gender/sex in general (just look at Kite in this arc, he is referred to by different Japanese pronouns by different people along with being reborn in a girls body thing) and honestly if you need explicit declarations for everything in a story then that just translates to poor story reading on your part. There's many things in stories that don't have to be said explicitly, but writers provide the needed elements so that readers can come to the intended conclusions on their own. It's basic stuff
@@klasse4311 Thank you for your time and effort, but to conclude: * The Zoldics are a traditional family that has the same aspects of a normal traditional Japanese family. They ( Zoldics ) believe in power - to a psychotic level, and there are a lot of scenes that confirm that in all the anime for all the Zoldics we met ;) - , they see that females are weaker (biologically than men), so they deal with all females in the family as males even they are dressed in a Japanese traditional female clothing. This is common in traditional Japanese families. * Killua, the only one who truly cares for her, uses feminine pronouns in all scenes when he talks directly to her or about her in front of his family. * There is nothing in the manga that says that ALLUKA was born a boy and changed her gender identity. ( SPOILER ALERT ) ( SPOILER ALERT ) ( SPOILER ALERT ) * About Kite; When Gon said that he should be dead instead of kite being dead and reincarnate as a girl. Ging said that KIte has a backdoor in his nen ability that makes him reincarnate and have his memories and powers if he sees that he will die in a fight and that's why his nen roulette gave him number 3 ( a toy that he can't fight with, but can reincarnate him to a newly born human body ) Finally, it's a normal story between a brother and a sister. Keep it simple. It's wonderful as it is.
I think because granting the wish of a teleport would a bigger consequence than granting the wish of a kiss. I think because Alluka did not grant the wish of killing they're mom that didn't count towards the cost of the next ones only the granted kiss does. I honestly dont know though LOL.
I think that you dont ACTUALLY have to fulfill her request literally, you only have to make her believe you have fulfill it. For example, she asked Killua to die. He knew that the one asking was Alluka, so he played as he died and Alluka took it as a fulfilled request. Maybe, in the last episode they showed us a female butter being asked for her liver, brain, spine, all those awful things, maybe she could've played it out like she took her fake liver out and gave it to her to make her laugh or learn or something that would make her feel like the request was done. Is this correct? She's a kid at the end of the day, she doesn't know what she's asking, she just cant stop it.
Nope you missed the point. When Alluka asked Killua to die, that wasn't a request. It was just them playing. In short, fulfilling Alluka's request does not let you make a wish fulfilling Nanika's wishes does. So here Killua wasn't fulfilling aby request, he was playing around. So how did he make a wish? That wasn't a wish, that was an order to Nanika as we come to know later. The real request for the computer as asked by Nanika were in fact of the nails which Tsubone had to fulfill. You can watch ep 146,there Illumi surmises all these events before confronting Killua.
@@DisProfundis Oooh I see! So Alluka can't make requests, Nanika can. If three requests from Nanika are fulfilled, then her face turns creepy and you can ask for a wish. Alluka's request don't do anything, she's just being playful with her brother. Did I get it right?
@@xaviermm5506 No. Alluka. Alluka is a he. I'm well aware of Killua wanting to respect Alluka's wishes but biology is biology. Gender means objectively nothing.

Killua's Mom gave birth to all males... She wanted a daughter so she raised Kalluto as a girl. They don't see Alluka as human so don't respect her wishes to be called "she". Killua does respect her so he does... NOBODY WE'VE SEEN JUST TAKES AWAY NEN(Chrollo steals and Lion barrows but doesn't exercise nen away). A nen exorcism removes nen that's put inside you by a 3rd party. So like Kurapika's nen dagger inside Chrollo's heart. It wouldn't take Kurapika's nen from Kurapika or Knuckle's nen from Knuckle. It would remove Chapter 7 from someone. The only exception is the restrictions placed on oneself. An exorcism could undo Gon's conditions if the exorcist were strong enough to bare it but they couldn't just take Jajaken.
DUDE WTHHHHH?? 🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱 I've known HxH for years and never knew Kalluto was a male... I didn't even realize this was a thing in the story... I wonder if this was ever addressed in the manga/anime or if it was just curiosity revealed in some other source.
@@K-J-Aafter the hunter exam, when gon and them were heading to the zoldick's mansion, the bus guide said that there's 5 brothers when explaining about the family
So I’m unsure if this is real or if I’ve been lied to but I’m fairly certain of the following. The mother could only give birth to Boys. And so the Mother raised Kalluto to be a Girl. As for Alluka It could be their choice or something to do with literally being two entities in one body. I don’t think the mother had a hand in it since she doesn’t recognize her by female pronouns due to the other entity/disowning. Perhaps she had a hand before the entity made itself known? Who knows
i'm just gonna straight copy paste my comment from the previous episode just in case u missed it all the Zoldyck kids are boys, Kalluto is only crosdressing to please mommy because she always wanted a daughter, but he still identifies as a boy (crossdressing just to get your mother's attention, not toxic at all) i also assume this is why Illumi has long hair and is more like ... androgynous Alluka identifies as a girl but Killua is the only one who cares, that's why he will use she/her and sister while the rest of the family will use he/him and brother. It's not a mistranslation, it's to show you Killua is the only one who considers Alluka to be a person and cares for how she feels, while the others only see either a tool or a curse.

You two really don’t understand that a joke and just the way of speaking? Hisoka in general like to speak in sexual way about battles with his opponent. Illumi on the ship was making a fun of it too
To clarify, Alluka is a trans girl. That means she was born in a male body but she identifies as a girl, which makes her gender be female. Killua is the only one who cares for her so he's the only one that respects her pronouns, meanwhile the rest of her family that doesn't care about how she feels or what she wants, simply treat her as a boy bc that's the body she was born with so that's everything they see.
When Killua calls another Alluka, it is translated as "something," which I don't like. When Killua's father calls another Alluka, it is "something" meaning "a non-human object", so there is no problem. But since Killua considers the other Alluka a brother and a human being, he would not call him "somethinng" in the same way as his father. In Japanese, "something" is pronounced "NANIKA". Killua did not know that his father called another Alluka "somethinng. But Killua had always called the other Alluka "NANIKA" as a nickname. The father's "something" and Killua's "NANIKA" were pronounced the same way. Killua said "I am definitely your son. Killua's statement "I am definitely your son..." implies that Killua was unconsciously referring to another Alluka in the same way as his father ("only" pronauncing). Perhaps in the future when Killua calls another Alluka, it will be translated as "something. But remember that when Killua calls another Alluka, he is using "NANIKA" as a nickname.

@PlanetaryPluto English subs mistranslated the Japanese language and made the mistake of referring to alluka as a male at birth when the reality is that allukas actual sex is unknown. People referring to male and female pronouns does not automatically indicate transgender being the root cause and at the end of the day alluka is still a kid, so assigning transgender to a kid is weird. Also assigning transgender to someone who has never identified themselves as it is just forcing your own labeling on someone else.
Alluka is not a kid, Alluka is a fictional character and was wrote in that way because Togashi wanted. He has plenty experience writing about transgender characters, the different use of pronouns from the family and Killua are intentional, you are just being obtuse because you dont like the subject

So, Illumi does love Killua. Obssesivly so, because he is his anchor, his choice. But only because his father is playing with him and using him like a doll.
Could write more but that is for future episodes.
The way Silva can sneak himself into this position of a "Not so bad father" with how subtle he acts is crazy from Togashi, he is so good
But then Zeno and Maha is still a mystery, they must have some code of honor.
I love this line :
" ....and I finally learn that everything will eventually vanish, therefore I won't let go of your hands....."
J'adore !!!!

@henriklarssen1331 it's just pronouns dude. Wtf.
It's a boy, acts like a girl, but he's like what, 10? Give him a few years to see
To clear Alluka's gender.
There was no need to spoil that there's a big twist at the end of this
@@thesaintlymarco Erm... and what is the said twist that's so easy to figure out?

Illumi is one of my favorite characters. He is totally crazy and has an unhealthy love for Killua. 😵💫

The names of the siblings of the Zoldyck Family are linked in a string of beads.
Illumi (eldest son, wants to keep Killua under control)
Milluki (second son, fat)
Killua (third son, Gon's friend)
Alluka (fourth son, erase his existence)
Kalluto (fifth son, appeared as a member of the Phantom Troupe in the Greed Island Arc)
The Zordic family is supposed to be treated as male even if they are female.
Alluka and Kalluto look like girls, but their genders are not revealed in the setting.
This is why Killua is my GOAT, GOAT!!!!! I love him
Alluka was assigned male at birth, but identifies as female.

**SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 141**
Killua also calls Alluka his "brother" to Morel on the airship to avoid confusion because public knowledge of the family state they have 5 "sons" as seen in the first episode of the Zoldyck arc earlier in the show when the tour guide speaks about them. It's not that she was assigned female at birth and the Zoldyck family somehow confused her with a boy (again, how??) but that she was assigned male at birth and later chose to identify as a girl
There's a lot of analysis on the use of pronouns in the Japanese text for the Election arc in regards to Alluka but that's too much to explain in here but you can probably find it if you look up for it
It's not a rule that you have to read up on gender movement to become trans, it's simply based on a feeling for a lot of people. Alluka probably felt that she wanted to be a girl and began dressing as one too when compared to her more boyish/ambiguous clothing in the flashbacks
Finally I don't see why people are so weirded out by this.
@@klasse4311 Thank you for your time and effort, but to conclude:
* The Zoldics are a traditional family that has the same aspects of a normal traditional Japanese family.

Finally, it's a normal story between a brother and a sister. Keep it simple. It's wonderful as it is.
Killua, the character who appeared as a cold-blooded killer, is the most adorable and good in all of HxH.
Does anyone know when the girls find out about the He/She status and how the Zoldycks each refer to Alluka?
I never understood why Killua didnt just asked to be teleported to Gon.
I think he didn't want to reveal to the family that Alluka's power had other rules...he had to in the end but that wasn't his intention
maybe because he needed 2 wishes to teleport both him and alluka
I think because granting the wish of a teleport would a bigger consequence than granting the wish of a kiss. I think because Alluka did not grant the wish of killing they're mom that didn't count towards the cost of the next ones only the granted kiss does. I honestly dont know though LOL.
@@simplestevevideos7757It was a command not a wish
First guy right. He wanted to avoid for his family to know that there are more rules

Killua is the only one who cares for her so he's the only one that respects her pronouns, meanwhile the rest of her family that doesn't care about how she feels or what she wants, simply treat her as a boy bc that's the body she was born with so that's everything they see.
Alluka is a man, for Killua she is a girl, but Alluka defines herself as a boat engine.

Killua does not consider Nanika as much as Alluka, that’s the whole point of the conversation he has with both later on.

How'd you explain the use of he and her pronouns? One of them exclusively used by Killua. What's your explanation for that?
@@mi-chanlactosefreemagmite fictional kid sure. But putting that aside, since allukas sex at birth is unknown, it's wrong to say that alluka is trans when that's just a guess

In fact the only thing I can say about him with certainty is that bungee gum possesses the power of both rubber and gum, other than that togashi didn't give us backstory or anything, how am I supposed to understand anything if they don't tell me explicitly?
If you are worrying about kids go talk down the hisoka defenders who say he just likes strong people bc if it's a cool character you like you can give such pointless excuses (he's creeping on kids, I don't really need to know what exactly his kink is to call it wrong, great character regardless)
But when you think a character is trans it's such an unfair and biased leap? in the same arc that kite becomes a girl?
And no one makes fun of kites situation just bc it makes sense with nen and magic for someone to turn into a girl and it doesn't have to be vulgar or disgusting even though you don't even know his ability or how it happened, no one cares really, but when someone connects Allukas situation to something that happens and has always happened in our world that's where you draw the line?
