This is the last arc I watched in the anime. It would have been great it it were a third of its length but the pacing completely killed my willingness to continue. Read the manga for a couple arcs though.
Fun Fact: Akainu, Aokiji and Kizaru translate to Red Dog, Blue Pheasant, Yellow Monkey respectively. Those three animals are the sidekicks of one of the most iconic Japanese fairytales, Momotaro, in which a boy born out of a giant peach recruits a dog, a pheasant and a monkey, by feeding them peach candies, so they can go slay some demons together
That day is not too far away knowing the stage of the current story. One piece will likely end in next 5-7 years. Getting a glimpse of the "end game" in Zou gave me chills.... And now after entering the final Saga, it has finally sinked in that it DEFINITELY IS GONNA END... And I'm at least happy to be a one piece fan in 2024 experience it's glory, the recent rise in one piece popularity, a very successful and genuinely made Live action, WIT remake, Fan letter, Remastered anime, G5, conclusion of the Yonko saga after almost 10 years, one of the best animations in anime, especially Egg head and Wano, Ishitani's magic, every new arc feels to be one of the best arcs... And even the Future story being even more exciting... And many more.... These past 2 years and here on is one of THE BEST TIMES to be a one piece fan... And we are getting all of it...!! So, even though one piece is coming to an end it feels very much scary just thinking that, this moment, this level of one piece hype and popularity we are getting now a days is like never before and we must enjoy, cherish and take in all of this .... and experience one of the most sought out, important, historical event of the end of one piece in the coming decade... Being a world wide phenomenon, even more than what we all have expected it, due to recent boom in one piece popularity as well as new anime, live action etc... based on one piece IP bringing in new fans into the fandom... To make the end of one piece one of the greatest events of all time... Now every non-anime watcher who never watch anime, know about one piece, and many want to watch it, if not for it's length. Even though WIT is making new anime, realistically, within the timeline before one piece ends... Before all the crucial spoilers flood the internet in next 10 years,I feel WIT will finish pre-timeskip, and Toei has currently started to remaster and condense post-timeskip, and the time line of both of them finishing almost matches with the time line of a decade... Where by the time WIT finishes pre-timeskip, the whole Post timeskip will be remastered into a digestible manner by Toei, so, probably all the new watchers can potentially get caught up to one piece by the time ending is near... I can't imagine how epic it'll be with so many more new influx of fans... When one piece ends... The sheer volume of fan numbers will definitely overshadow the mainstream discourse... And I'm looking forward to it... Even though it's bitter sad that it'll end after so many years of one piece being part of our weekly routine, the hype of getting to uncover the mysteries by Oda Sensei is something very much promising and exciting... And Oda sensei is talented enough and he already knows what the ending is, to make it all satisfying enough when it ends. So, let's just enjoy the ride... And the journey... And gather as many new fans into the fold as possible...
I hope they stay that way, sometimes it gets a bit frustrating, when some reacters even forget stuff, that happend like 5 episodes ago 😅😂 But so far theyre doing a great job, they remember so much details and like you said even come up with good and interessting theories
I forgot how much is packed into one episode. And then it’s followed up by some of the most beloved crew moments all jammed packed. My goodness. “He’s so cool’” I see what you did there 🧊
I never get tired of hearing this terrifying dude get introduced around the phrase "Super boi-oing". Also, Luffy pulls the same combo he finished Crocodile with, the kick into the air followed by Storm, which is a cool detail.
Imagine reading the manga, and one chapter you're sending Foxy and his crew off with their stupid new flag, and then this man shows up and helps out old man Tonjit, and next chapter he freezes Robin and neutralizes the three strongest members of our crew. The whiplash was incredible. As a side note, Zoro spotting Yokozuna doing the front crawl was our first exposure to a frog doing the front crawl in the manga. No mention of him by Aokiji at all. So many strange choices around this section of the anime.
Robin’s nature was somewhat revealed during the foxy pirates arc during the scene when she was taken by foxy. She just nonchalantly smiled and said “see ya” to the straw hats, somewhat implying that she’s used to leaving people one day.
Perhaps, but I didn't really think of it that deeply. I saw it more as almost teasing. Rules are rules, can't change that, so Robin will happily go along with it because she knows that her crew will win her back. I mean, if she REALLY thought she was leaving the Strawhats for good, I think she'd be a little more dour about it. She was probably having a lot of fun.
I'm a fan from Thailand. I love your reactions so much; they're so cute and full of fun. It's great to watch One Piece again with you. Keep up the good work, and I'll be following your One Piece reactions for a long time!
Aokiji served a similar purpose here that Mihawk did when we first met him. They acted as measuring sticks to show that as strong as the Strawhats may seem to be they still have a LONG way to go before they can contend with the top tier that Mihawk and Aokiji exist in.
I'd like to add that G8 also shows that without luck, their tactics and strategy to fight the Navy in terms of ship and sea maneuvers is still way far behind as well. Without the octopus balloon making them fly, they really would've lost the chessplay of Vice Admiral Jonathan who plays them like a hunter(more like fishing). I'd say on that particular point, Nami is the one that needs to improve the most, followed by Ussop. Then again, there's still no shipwright as a crew, which would tremendously add more firepower to the sea maneuvers tactics and strategies.
In his duel with Aokiji, Luffy went straight for the combo that finished Crocodile: kick upwards, Gum-Gum Balloon into Gum-Gum Storm. That shows how serious he was. It didn't have a prayer of working though.
This section of the One Piece story is one of my favourites, I was so excited to watch you react to this from the very begining. I hope you enjoy the ride! 🌊
With Aokiji's introduction, Oda finally decides to take the training wheels off! I know people will say that best arc of One Piece was Ennies Lobby or Marineford or even Wano or Egghead, but for me its always been Water 7. Wano and Egghead have too much fat and major pacing issues while Ennies Lobby and Marineford were mostly action, but Water 7 had so much more! Action, character growth, new character introduction, mystery, attempted murder, betrayal, internal strife, great backstory, great setting, huge long term stakes, and so much more!! IMO, the best arc in One Piece has started!!!!
The just.. insane 180 from the silly, goofy shenanigans of the pirate games with Foxy nd to the just.. absolute disaster that is the fight with Aokiji is... So amazing. And also stressful.
This was such a good way to introduce how powerful the admirals are! You see this lazy dude...and the unflappable Robin is terrified of him. The monster trio jumps him (which they usually don't do) and he just brushes them all off. Amazing.
He did the exact same combo against Aokiji that he did against the strongest person he had faced so far: Crocodile. Enel gave him some logistical issues but crocodile is who he almost died against twice, so he used the combo against this guy
Okay, now I can finally explain the complicated relationship that Long Ring Long has with canon. So, in the manga, there was only one three-coin game between the Straw Hats and the Foxy Pirates, and each participant could only play once. The first game, just like in the anime, was the race. But in the manga, there were only three racers from each side: Nami, Usopp, and Robin vs. Porche, Capote, . The bits with Luffy being in the race, not really contributing to anything, were added for the anime. After the first round, just like in the anime, the Foxy Pirates took Chopper, putting Zoro and Sanji at a numbers disadvantage for the second game, the ball game. That one went exactly the same, pretty much. The third round was the 1v1 fight between Luffy and Foxy, so there was no roller derby, dodgeball, or red light green light. Before the fight even begins, that makes a huge difference for the scene between rounds. See, in the anime, Nami suggested taking Foxy after the Straw Hats won the second round, which would put the Foxy Pirates at a disadvantage for the third round - basically, exactly what the Foxy Pirates had done when they took Chopper. And all of the Foxy Pirates called Nami out on her cheap "peanut tactics". Hypocrites, right? Well remember, in the manga, the next round was a 1v1, so if the Straw Hats took Foxy, it would have been a 0v1 and the Straw Hats would have won by default. So it's actually a much more extreme version of what the Foxy crew had done with Chopper, which justifies their reaction somewhat. Also, Luffy just straight up takes Chopper back after the second game. There was no need to waste the win on Sherry the hoooorse, because it's not like the Foxy crew won her or anything. As you can guess, the whole situation where the Straw Hats were at risk of losing their descendants to the Foxy Pirates was entirely anime-only. Every round only had one crew member on the line. After Luffy won the third round, he took the Foxy Pirates' flag and gave it to Old Tonjit to wrap up Sherry's wound (side note, in the manga, it was not just a net gun). Aaaand lastly, Tonjit's grandson who showed up out of nowhere and likes digging tunnels... was entirely anime material. In the manga, this was when Aokiji showed up, and he made an ice path for Tonjit and Sherry to catch up with the rest of their peeps. The added material was fun, I won't deny that. And in a way, it does kinda contribute to what Aokiji says - in the anime, in addition to what happened to Baroque Works, the Foxy Pirates were almost completely wiped out the same day that they took Robin in. But the original was far more streamlined and handled the stakes better. Plus, the anime material added in a (fairly minor) error that wasn't in the manga; I'll explain that one later). This, combined with coming right in between everyone's favorite filler arc G8 and the universally beloved Water Seven makes Long Ring Long pretty unpopular among anime-onlies for how needlessly padded it feels.
In the manga Aokiji is how Tonjit gets back to his village, the random shipwrecked people came out of nowhere because they were needed to replace that plot point and show off his abilities.
So, I think this is one of the cases in which adding filler in the anime also hurt the original material a bit. See, one of the reasons why some people wrongly think the Long Ring arc isn't important, is because in the manga, Aokiji actually shows up RIGHT as the crew wins the Davy Back fight against Foxy. Just as they're wondering how they can help the old man reach his people, he shows up laying around his house, and immediately shows his powers by creating an ice bridge between the archipelago. In the anime, given they put entire filler arcs between these two events, he just shows up on a random island to save some non-descript people, which also seems redundant given what we've just gone through. We also care way more about Shelly and Tonjit than these nameless guys,so Aokiji's altruistic side comes out stronger in the manga as well. Not only that, but him being introduced right after such a lighthearted, fun arc is SUCH an amazing tone shift. Things sober up so quick once his intentions and abilities are made known, and we were just goofing around two seconds ago! To add to the Toriyama parallels, this kinda feels like what happens right at the end of the 22nd Budokai tournament, so out of the blue! Here it just doesn't hit the same! Still, the actual events that transpire after his introduction are done justice. The crew sleeping around Robin as she's wide awake and serious is one of my favorite little bits. You can tell how much they've come to care already, but something is still not letting her be at ease. Says so much without any dialogue!
I love the extra effort added to make each logia user react differently when taking an attack. From Aokiji shattering and Crocodile's sand, to Smoker dispersing and Enel's lightning. It's a small contribution but adds some personality to each Devil Fruit.
Yeah, Aokiji is the real story reason to watch Long Ring Long Land, because encountering him is technically the end of that arc. But it sets up the next arc, Water 7, which along with the arc that comes directly after it are some of the best plots in One Piece. And with your theories, I can't wait to see your reactions to what happens in Water 7 and Enies Lobby.
12:58 that really made me laugh 😂😂🤣 they are ready for worse it seems but are they really... 🫨😶👻 14:45 man they never really fail to amaze me in their discussion
One little detail: Aokiji's fruit is not the ice fruit, but the COLD fruit (that's why he can freeze the ocean). And yes, he is the same type of fruit as Ace, Enel, Crocodile, Smoker: He can become, produce and manipulate a naturally occurring something: In his case, the cold
Finally you see my favorite character. Things are going serious from here, finding one piece is not just about finding treasure , you just tap into world government secrets and it can shake the whole world upside down
Yeah this is an awesome world building episode. They give a new perspective on bounties and on power levels down the line. Oda is always thinking ahead and showinh that the world is actually BIG. Not everything revolves around our favorite pirates
Note: Aokiji are inspired from a real japanese actor "Matsuda Yusaku" Note 2: the filler arc before this one its based from a One Piece RPG game released for PS1 in 2003 "One Piece: Ocean's Dream!"
@ wholeheartedly agreed. The only good thing LA did was to introduce reluctant/uninformed people to One Piece, but the rest is just spoilers for the first saga plus the Garp reveal in particular. [One other reactor who had been watching One Piece since before but hadn’t reached that part in the anime got spoiled by his friend who had only watched the LA. :( ]
@@emkalina the anime had a fleshed out version of almost all of the events which makes much more of an impact. Anyone who watches the first saga after knowing the events of the LA is spoiled of that firsthand experience. Just my take, opinions may differ. Peace.
I love all one piece arcs. But water 7 is so special to me. This is the arc where I cried for the first time watching one piece. (when usopp leaves and luffy cries). water 7 to enies lobby is a emotional roller-coaster. i can't wait for your reactions.
And hence begins, one of the greatest if not the greatest Sagas in One Piece.
AGREED
Egghead takes thar spot for me for at least now🫠
i mean, if you're talking about saga, then it started last arc ago which is long ring long land..
This is the last arc I watched in the anime. It would have been great it it were a third of its length but the pacing completely killed my willingness to continue. Read the manga for a couple arcs though.
This one hits hard on all cylinders.
20:11 "He doesn't get to be cute after that!" "Don't be likeable!" 🤣😂😅
The next 300 episodes is probably my favorite part of this show 😂
the peak is coming
Reading this without already being invested in one piece is a lot. God we are insane.
Same 😂
More like the next 900 tbh
Same, which sadly means somewhere in the future I feel like drifting away from the story.
The more Shōnen the story , the less I´m invested😔

Finally water 7. This is when one piece lost its status of a great show and became something even bigger
One of the best. This arc has everything that why people love the show.
Yep…this was actually a level change ,sky rocking this anime to greatness 🙌🏼
I know every single inch of this story, WHY AM I STILL FEELING ANXIETY!?!?!!
You and me both! 😂

I did not know that. Thanks for the information 👍
24:53 You know what's worse? Someday it will say "The End"
All good things must come to an end.
Can we pls not talk about that now. There is still time left!

His motto most closely translates to “lazy justice”- idk why they subtitled it as solemnly lololol
Slovenly, not solemnly.
Slovenly: (especially of a person or action) careless; excessively casual.
It means the same thing, but I like the way "lazy justice" sounds better

Here is why I like the Foxy arc as well as the G8 filler: it gives time for Robin to interact with the crew and show off how their bond has grown.

@@FawnTheCreator Why is it a spoiler? It was seen on the episode that he helped the people cross the sea.
@@FawnTheCreator your comment is more spoilery than the first one ironically
This is just an opinion; there’s no way to confirm his motivations. That’s part of the issue with this character even now
I always LOVE hearing Aokijis ice powers. The soundtrack and the sound effects are so EERIE
In the manga Aokiji is how Tonjit gets back to his village, the random shipwrecked people came out of nowhere because they were needed to replace that plot point and show off his abilities.
20:11 just because you are a badguy doesn't mean you have to be a bad guy
So, I think this is one of the cases in which adding filler in the anime also hurt the original material a bit.
See, one of the reasons why some people wrongly think the Long Ring arc isn't important, is because in the manga, Aokiji actually shows up RIGHT as the crew wins the Davy Back fight against Foxy.
Just as they're wondering how they can help the old man reach his people, he shows up laying around his house, and immediately shows his powers by creating an ice bridge between the archipelago.

The crew sleeping around Robin as she's wide awake and serious is one of my favorite little bits. You can tell how much they've come to care already, but something is still not letting her be at ease. Says so much without any dialogue!
Absolute right
This episode is where Strawhat crew's enemies become stronger and Luffy gets serious about fighting

Aokiji and zeke from attack on titan share the same voice actor in case you did not notice
8:11 “he seems cool” 🤣
YEEEEEAAAAASSSSSS!!!!!!! Its The One Peak Arc, Water 7 and Enis Lobby! 🔥🔥💪💪
This saga is one of the greatest saga in onepiece...
HAH! You called the admiral with the ice powers cool, without intending the pun. I'm so happy.
10:20 perfect synchronization 🤣
"I am rubber you're glue" could be an involuntary reference to the famous pirate Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island?
Finally, I’m early to one of your One Piece videos since I’ve been binge watching your reactions, starting with the OPLA! I love your commentary 🥰

You tell them Kiss. Let them know. 😂😂😂😂
12:58 that really made me laugh 😂😂🤣 they are ready for worse it seems but are they really... 🫨😶👻
14:45 man they never really fail to amaze me in their discussion
One little detail: Aokiji's fruit is not the ice fruit, but the COLD fruit (that's why he can freeze the ocean). And yes, he is the same type of fruit as Ace, Enel, Crocodile, Smoker: He can become, produce and manipulate a naturally occurring something: In his case, the cold
They can't wait to hear about Robin's past
Just gonna say
They better have the tissues nearby
After the next 20 episodes they better have restocked their supplies
I think they hit a milestone episode on Patron.😅
Get ready for one of the most heartbreaking arcs of the series and my personal favorite! This is gonna get ROUGH.
Robin having ptsd on Aokiji is crazy
Finally you see my favorite character. Things are going serious from here, finding one piece is not just about finding treasure , you just tap into world government secrets and it can shake the whole world upside down
Welcome water 7 arc
Yesssssssss, we’re coming real near to one of the peakest arc in one piece
Ussop was definitely impressed with Ice Age
Strap yourselves in ladies, things are moving to a whole new level!
officially welcome to water seven arc..the arc that turn one piece goat...get ready to ride roller coaster of emotion 😂
I love how she remembered Sengoku right away when he was mentioned ❤
Aokiji's justice is "Lazy justice" fits much better I guess
Yeah this is an awesome world building episode. They give a new perspective on bounties and on power levels down the line. Oda is always thinking ahead and showinh that the world is actually BIG. Not everything revolves around our favorite pirates
20:42 Calling Chopper "the best doctor ever" won't make him happy, you jerks! :)
This is the arc that made me fall in love with one piece and anime in general... you guys are so in for a treat
Note: Aokiji are inspired from a real japanese actor "Matsuda Yusaku"
Note 2: the filler arc before this one its based from a One Piece RPG game released for PS1 in 2003 "One Piece: Ocean's Dream!"
All I could say is embrace for impact 😢

02:14 oh! This one was seriously quick !
(For a moment my trust on time was uplifted 💀)
i have been waiting for you to get to this arc and i'm SO EXCITED for the upcoming reactions!! this is one of three favourite arcs of mine 😍
I love it how the more they progress, the different those To Be Continued screens become xD
Subtle Garp mention, but not quite the reveal. You’ll get it when you least expect it lol.
And when they do they'll be like "damn I wish I didn't already know, this was so much better than the live action"
@@Mischievalrous what spoilers for the first saga? It covered the first saga
@@emkalina the anime had a fleshed out version of almost all of the events which makes much more of an impact. Anyone who watches the first saga after knowing the events of the LA is spoiled of that firsthand experience. Just my take, opinions may differ. Peace.
You know things are getting intense when Robin of all people, the calmest Strawhat, is terrified.
the switch from afro luffy to aokiji is chilling
Can't wait for your episode 234-236 reaction. It is a top-tier back-to-back 3 episodes
this new arc started strong with the introduction of Admiral Aokiji who is an ice-man devil fruit user and a somewhat hint of robin's past
I gotta say the brains of these two girls are insanely huge.
"he cause me chills"
we know what you did!!🤭
Omigoodness! You've reached this place... this place!
When she said "I hate that screen!!", I felt it.
Fun fact. Voice actor for Kuzan voices Dio from jojos, Toji from JJk, and Zeke from attack on titan. Just to name a few.
I love all one piece arcs. But water 7 is so special to me. This is the arc where I cried for the first time watching one piece. (when usopp leaves and luffy cries). water 7 to enies lobby is a emotional roller-coaster. i can't wait for your reactions.
