I really enjoyed the vintage RVs! They were very much like the( WWI, WWII, Presidential, etc.) planes ✈️with the make and technology-that was also cool to watch, as well as the fun meet-up! Thanks for sharing, and have a Great weekend!🏈🎊🌄🏕🤗

That vintage Winnebago at 15:40 brings back memories galore. A 17’ Mini Winni was our first motorhome and started a lifelong love of camping and rving.

Sometimes the best camping spots are the unplanned ones. That is one of the beauties of fall rving....so much easier to find an alternate spot, and reservation hardly necessary. As always, safe travels...

Thank you for the tour! Love seeing the vintage RV’s and manufactured homes. The evolution of traveling for reasons beyond necessity is pretty incredible… it’s hard to imagine this has been a “thing” to journey with a home on wheels for well over a hundred years! These examples were awesome.
So sorry about your HH experience, sometimes it can be a hit or a miss I guess. Wishing for better luck in the future. You never disappoint in showing an honest and natural approach to your stories and adventures, no matter what a day may bring. It’s probably one of the main reasons why you’ve been so successful. Here’s to another great season… right around the corner!

He shows more of what you’re looking at unless of the inside of the campers and all the toys that people buy and use it’s the right combination. A lot of us don’t have the energy or time or ability to do all these things online and just want to see what America makes the beautiful mother nature country it is, beautiful . Could be more.

We were at the RV Hall of Fame a few days before you, and we were also disappointed. Especially because we were supposed to boondock in the parking lot and were asked to leave. On the bright side, we have an excuse to go back. Just not at the end of September. 😁Safe Travels.

I remember the Ponderosa steak houses. They were started by Dan Blocker who played Hoss on Bananza the tv show back in the 60’s. Dan and his family moved to a small town named O’Donald in the Texas panhandle. It’s a 1-2 hours up the road from me. His parents had a grocery store and for a while the family lived in the back of the store. Dan was big for his age and when he would fight more than one kid he’d hold one off with his hand and fight with the other. That’s where he picked up his fighting style he used on the show.

Thank you Robert for showing us the history of RVs. I had no idea it goes back that far in history. Maybe we can count the caravans in Biblical times that traveled the deserts in the Middle East as RVs of a sort. Although it was mainly tents they lived in the people brought all the comforts of home along with them. It’s an interesting topic to look into. Again Thank you for taking us on a journey.

Back when we were looking for an RV years ago, we visited Elkhart and a few manufacturers. One tour guide turned us on to Rise and Roll doughnuts. He called them "Amish Crack". And we never visit the area without getting our fix!! In fact, it was our first RV video on UA-cam - ua-cam.com/video/64riGt3IZlo/v-deo.html

HH has changed with the new ownership. There are many more hosts but IMO, many are lesser quality and just odd or quirky. We're very picky with HH choices now a days, we read both the statement of the host and member reviews. We're noticing more hosts who are demanding payment for what should be a mutually beneficial relationship. The HH owners need to screen new hosts better and filter out hosts who don't meet the HH guidelines.

Totally agree about Buc-ee's, it's too popular for RV's to navigate and the people who elect to get gas and leave their cars at the pump do not help. It's getting to the point I avoid it most of the time. It is too bad it has come to this.

Question, I’m looking at a 2017 mini tini it’s at a great price. I’ve heard buy used for now because 2020 and later models seem to have more issues , what are your thoughts?? I think they are asking like $15k for it and looks in great shape

If it looks good... I would get someone to inspect it just in case but that seems to be a good deal. 2021 was a rough year for the RV industry. Lots of supply chain issues. A solid 2017 may be the way to go.

Goooood morning, Robert! I was in Elkhart a few months before you-- I stayed just down the road from the RV park at the Holiday Inn Express. The RV museum is really cool! The Spartan Mansion is a lot like the Spartan Manor that I stayed in at the Shady Dell in Bisbee. I really liked the furnishings in the manufactured houses -- I also had a SoundDesign stereo just like the one at 10:48. (I checked out the albums they had in the rack--one of them was "The Arbors Sing Valley Of The Dolls" 🙂)
I know you've driven the Avenue of the Giants--did you see the 1917 "Travel Log" RV made of redwood at the Humbolt State Park Visitor Center? If not, you have an excuse to go back. Until next time, happy trails!
