I tried 7.75, 8 and 8.125. I like transition and always tempted to get a 8.25. But I also like light boards. I reckon one day I'll build. 8.5 bowl setup.
I recently skated the Franky Villani board because of you, definitely enjoyed it, felt like skating an 8.25 but just wider. Notice doing feeble grinds felt a lot easier compared to a small board. Doing kickflips and other flat ground tricks wasn’t hard, heelflip seemed a bit more of a challenge except for my switch ones (I like switch heels more)
That’s a really good shape too! I wish I could get my hands on that board more regularly but it’s hard to come by for a cheaper price lol I’m the same dude, way better at switch heels than regular 😂
I tried switching to an 8.5 pop after being on a 9.5 shaped for a few years. I felt like I was on a 2x4. Your ability to switch it up is impressive! I've been on a 10 pop for a couple boards now and am absolutely loving it. I'm not very flippy so the width doesn't hold me back much. I've actually landed grinds on higher ledges than previously probably due to how comfortable it is.
Damn dude, that is a massive size drop 😂 I think I’m just used to trying all different shapes and sizes at this point lol Yeah that’s sick man, if you’re not doing too many flip tricks then the 10” will be so fun for you 👌🏽
I’m 5’11 and US size 11 shoe, I’ve been mostly on 8.5 X 32.375 X 14.5 decks but I’m thinking of getting a polar popsicle 8.75, same length but 14.375 wheelbase and moving up to 8.75 trucks too, should be interesting. I do some flat ground but mostly skate rails ledges and transition/ditches
@LeonPaxton Bro Love the 10 inch pop shape. rides so nice. My advice is on a 8in deck ride like a technology deck, Powell flight or Santa Cruz VX. makes the small board fell more regid and strong, i feel more stable when i skate a 8 if its vx. I know its way more expensive in your area of the world.
my quiver is disgusting. but my Favs are 10 in popsicle Heroin with 169 Indy Hollows, 8in Creature Vx with Ace Af1s, 9.0 Egg Girl Football shape with 159 Indys,
167 cm. I would like a clown on a 10-inch board. But of course not just looks, it's too heavy for my frame. I'm staying on 8". The problem is boards in this size are getting rarer and rarer each day.
For me skating always looks better on a bigger board. 8.5 and more. 149s minimum. You can say a lot about Braille team but they main thing that bugs me is that not one out of all of them rides more than 8.25.
Yeah dude, that will be fine, 149's have an 8.5" axle so the trucks will just sit out a quarter inch on each side but it will make your set up a lot more stable 👌🏼
@@mikeegbert6584 yep he made a video specifically on if truck size matters and you can get away with riding smaller trucks to a certain extent. I think he uses a couple washers on his axle to push the wheels out further
If the boards are similar dimensionss- as in same wheelbase, tail and nose length, the difference isent that terrible. And going from say 8-9", is very doable.
What size deck is perfect for your style of skating?

Literally anything bigger then 8.5 that has the same dimensions as like a 8.25 unless it’s like a reissue board
8 1/8th.
8. 5 ,sir
I think I want/need a bigger board - so my sister is getting me a 9.75 crusier for Christmas. I'm excited.
Man I remember when 8 was on the bigger side and everyone rode 7.5 7.75 😢
Bring back 7.5 😎
Now 8” is considered so small lol
@@LeonPaxton I'm on 8.25 now don't think I'd go any bigger but I'd love to try a bigger size
I feel like small boards nowadays like 7.5 and 7.75 are made to be shorter
Yeah the 90s.
Yo the no comply tailslide to nose Manny up that bank was sick
Thanks man, that was fun!
8.38 seems to be perfect for me. Im getting a 8.6 board soon I hope it wont be too much of getting used to.
8.6” shouldn’t feel too much bigger at all 👌🏽
I also ride an 8.38 🤙
Was skating a Blind 8.25 and moved down to Zoo York 8.0. Fucking love it. Small wheelbase especially on the 31.5 inch/14 inch wheelbase works wonders
Damn you’ll be getting all kinds of flip tricks on that bad boy then 👌🏽

Yeah dude, it's actually so fun!
That's a good point too, although I probably won't be riding a board that size very regularly at all lol
love it bro!
Appreciate it!!
nice park
that circular manny pad looks fun!
It is fun but I suck at manuals! 😅
@@LeonPaxton lol i hear ya forget nose manuels😂

Yeah dude, you're right! I don't really know many people that ride an 8" either lol
The 8 looks like a 6” under your frame
It felt like it too 😂
We have Yowi Creatures up here!
Aussie Bigfoot is a RANGA,, LoL!
Haven't heard about Yowie's in years! 😂
37 years old , Six foot 1 and size 12 foot. Im 9.25
About the same as me man 👌🏽
Dude is shredding
Thank you 🙏🏽

I'm using 8.0 deck but my trucks are 149 is that ok?

Have u tried the girl loveseat shape board?
2 votes for you to try Girl Loveseat shape Leon! This is my current board and my favorite board so far
I haven’t tried that yet but I might just have to soon 😏
@@LeonPaxton Nice! They also have a 9.25 version of the same shape if you want to try wider than 9
Yeah that's the one I would most likely get instead of the 9" 👌🏼
How do those 169 feel on the 10? Acceptable amount of magic carpet?
You'll need bigger than 169 on a 10 either 215 or ace 80s
@@xaserizm yep, looks like he's running 169s though
@@mikeegbert6584 yep he made a video specifically on if truck size matters and you can get away with riding smaller trucks to a certain extent. I think he uses a couple washers on his axle to push the wheels out further
And sorry I misread your original comment
@@xaserizmI really enjoy ace 77s on my 10 pop. Keeps it a bit scoopy and reduces weight. I double washer inside my wheels and it all feels noice.
Come back to the 8" fam, we have cookies.
There’s no way I could ride an 8” on the regs 😂
What park is this man?
Oran Park dude 👌🏽
so 9 inch is the one then?!
The perfect middle ground 👌🏽
Im just ridding on 8. 5
crazy sound glitches going on with this upload
Yeah dude, I had heaps of trouble with my microphone while filming this 👎🏽
@@LeonPaxton great vid otherwise!
❤🌏❤
Your kickflips looked better on 10”
They felt better too 😂
Think I'll stick with my 8.25 😉🛹
You don’t want to try a 10”? 😂
@@LeonPaxton 🤔 maybe 😂

I definitely wanted to talk about length and wheelbase but I think that needs its own video lol
Look like me 16 years ago. 😂
