america does not have much in the way of armor that can be dropped from planes by airborne units. This is truly unique. I also like that turret design.

Почему из броне алюминия, не делают щиты для пехоты? В бою, при штурмах массу ребят спасли бы. И как средство эвакуации раненых.
Потому что алюминий мягкий. Чтобы алюминиевый щит защищал, он должен быть довольно толстым. Лёгким такой щит быть физически не может. Если делать щиты для пехоты, тогда уж из композитов.
Щит подразумевает медленное продвижение в полный рост, в открытую. Очень легкая цель для снайперов, пулемётчиков, проще попасть из миномёта или дрона, боец с десятками килограмм веса на себе плюс щит просто не успеет избежать этих угроз. Да щит отобьёт какие-то попадания автоматные, но в руках его не удержать под пулемётным огнём и он не защитит от крупнокалиберных винтовок. Опять же он мешает обзору, проще нарваться на растяжки и мины.
Т.е., зачем вообще нужна десантируемая картонная техника в мире, - где десантирование В ПРИНЦИПЕ не возможно тебя не волнует!?

Десантирование не подразумевает обязательное вхождение в зону ПВО или на территорию врага, один из наиболее реалистичных сценариев это десантирование на свою же территорию в случае нарушения ЖД сообщения или повреждения местных аэродромов, чтобы отбить нападение противника или подавить восстание.

Это же не каратели. Или ты реально думаешь, кто-то пойдет против народа за власть кремлевской падали? Ага. Видели уже, как все "встали" на пути "Вагнера". Десант, - это отмыв бабок, лоббирование, красивая картинка. А по факту, пехота с совершенно говеной картонной, непригодной техникой. У США всего одна бригада или дивизия (не помню) десантуры. И та не при делах. Ни какое десантирование с более менее серьезным противником не прокатит. А против слабого оно просто не нужно. Все в РФ беспонтовый симулякр.

1960s M551 Sheridan had a 152mm cannon/atgm launcher. Sprut is not the first one with such a big gun. But it might be the first with a tank cannon.

Russians call tanks: cars, caterpillars or machines and they do not use or think of using the same English professional terms that we use. But we British didn't put our vehicles under such hardcore tests because of the cost and it is much better to notice certain core design flaws and problems in a live situation than in a testing facility because we do not have enough tanks to test them.

BMP-3 has 100mm gun, not the same as T54, but same caliber
It carries the T72 to T-24 bigger 125 mm gun. NATO uses a 120 mm. The M1-A2/3 tanks uses German made turrets. Russia is the best tank manufacturer. They have no use of T-54 design. They use the T-54 hull and tracks for their self propelled artillery

The 'Combat Approved' is a private project of Alexandr Egorov (the narrator himself) on the 'Zvezda' TV channel (Russian MoD official channel), probably, they don't see too much reason to spend money for a human English translation. A lot of Russian channels have been banned and eliminated entirely from YT, the 'Zvezda' TV channel has the 12-th version right now, the previous 11 were been totally deleted from YT... ерунду пишешь ,специализированные машины нужны и для вдв и для морпехов, если их не будет, то эти войска теряют свою специализацию и смысла в них нет от слова совсем, а когда понадобится провести где то операцию, а уже ничего не будет, другой вопрос что во время употребления вдв и морпехов в качестве линейной пехоты их надо вооружать также как и мотострелковые подразделения со складов моб резерва, ну или они должны иметь у себя в расположении 2 комплект техники

In 2022 Putin signed 700 and in current 2023 - 800 forgiveness. It means to war recruited something near (700-550)+(800-550) = ~400 people.
