- I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit disappointed in Czechia (or more specifically, their broadcaster). I respect the effort, but unfortunately this was just not a well-produced selection; this may be a controversial opinion, but I genuinely thought ESCZ 2023 was better. I really think going back to the audience-less stage might be the way to go here, because this NF's whole setup just did not work very well. The sound mixing was consistently bad and the stage was too small. There's nothing wrong with having no audience if that's what the budget calls for...from what I've seen of ESCZ 2022, a setup like that can actually be made to look quite good.
As for the songs themselves, most of them are solid but there are also no standouts like My Sister's Crown or Ghosting. It also doesn't help that some of what I considered the best songs had the worst performances, and vice versa...regardless, I don't know if there's a Top 10 entry here this time around, but there are some songs that I think could at least qualify. I honestly have no clue which entry will win here, but I definitely know which one I WANT to win.

Let’s be honest, you really need to do two rankings for the Czech selection. One based on the song themselves based on their studio cuts, and the other based on the live performance of the artists.
For what it's worth, this was my top before the show:

The top two is a good one, although "Out of my Mind" would certainly play better to juries than televoters.
I rewatched them all and I actually have a lot of changed opinions, so here’s a new comment!

I regret not voting for this when I had the chance. It’s the only good song here in my opinion, from both the song itself and the performance. Yes, it’s kind of boring in the first part, but when the competition is _this bad…_

Not passionate about this one.

Thanks to Eesti Laul, my standards are back to where they were before and I’m starting to realize how Not Good this song is. I regret voting for this *SO* hard and I would be incredibly disappointed if it did win.

Nothing changed really.

I don’t understand why I gave it such a low score last time. The performance is not good at all, but not enough of a disaster for it to outweigh the song itself _too_ much. Still don’t think she’s ready for a contest like Eurovision though.
*7. Pedestal (2.5/10; -1, -0.5)*
I can’t, however, say the same about this. The song itself I’d give a 7.5/10, meaning that this gets a *FIVE POINT DEDUCTION* for its *UNBELIEVABLY* bad performance. As soon as she did that weird scream it was completely done for.
Honestly, I grew to like Pedestal's live after a while. It was bad but it had character lol.
Also, sorry to burst your bubble but Red Flag Parade is most likely gonna win after looking at other rankings (Czechia's international vote is more or less a Eurofan vote, and it makes up 70% of the result).
@@JH3Eurovision I kinda expected it anyway. Still disappointed though considering Lights Off and My Sister’s Crown are some of my favorites of their respective years (second favorite and new favorite respectively)

Surprising decision (was fully expecting MYDY) but I'm not upset about it. That said, she REALLY needs to work on that live performance to have literally any chance of qualifying.
Wow. That was bad. Anyways, here’s how I’d rank them!
*1. Red Flag Parade (7/10)*
I want this to win so badly. Yes, it needs work, but _every song_ needs work in one way or another. A revamp could definitely help this song.
They clearly were some of the most prepared among everyone here, and it was also the most interesting song. Plus, I like the lyrics and I also like the way they exploited the “family friendly Eurovision” rule.
*2. Good Enough (6/10)*
Gotta admit that I also found this boring (as someone who rarely calls a song boring). But it is really polished and was one of the only good performances. I wouldn’t be upset if it won.
*3. Out Of My Mind (5.5/10)*
Meh, I’m not crazy about the song, but it’s not terrible.
*4. Dopamine Rush (5/10)*
Don’t have much to say about this one.

It keeps going from 0-100 way too fast without much in between. Good instrumental though.

She seemed quite nervous, and I think a contest like Eurovision might not be for her. I applaud her (and everyone else) for giving it a go.
Red Flag Parade could definitely work well on a Eurovision stage and I would begrudgingly accept it winning for that reason. The band does have a great aesthetic. I just really don't like the song lol.

Also, I’m done re-ranking 2018-2023!! I’m not gonna comment on 2018 _just_ yet though for irrelevant reasons but I’ll get to it sooner or later!
I definitely want Dopamine Overdose to win, it's a catchy song, a cool name, cool topic. Plus, I got a crush on Tom, just like I had a crush on Jann from the Polish pre-selection last year. Only that Tom can sing and is speaking English very well, so in this case, people don't have ANY EXCUSES not to send this!!! But I'm afraid, they're gonna send MYDY, even though their song and performance was messy (or even worse, Aiko, whose song, vocals and performance was even messier than this). And what's the purpose of having a punchline that you can't even sing? And they should at least have done it like the Austrian chicks last year and replaced it with something (who the hell instead of who the fuck, can't resist instead of writing like a bitch), but there's nothing! Nada! Niente! But it's definitely gonna win. Have I told you, that Solo and Red Flag Parade share a songwriter (Maria Brodberg)? But I want Tom to win, alternatively Lenny, the rest just aren't great options. Tomas and Elly have ok choruses, but everything else is meh. The other songs are messy and/or had bad performances, so it's either Tom or Lenny for me.
You should kinda combine your studio and live thoughts. It's unfair for Gianna that u put her last coz it's your fav song as u said.
Anyways, a very strong selection songwise, not that good lives

I always consider the overall package for After Show rankings and there just wasn't much to get behind in Starlet's live performance. She probably wouldn't be my last place in a bigger NF, but there are only 7 entries here, so...yeah. Not the only time I've tanked a song that I really liked in my ranking because of a bad live performance either (Belgium 2019 is probably the biggest example)
