Mike, my home in Japan is so peaceful no dogs barking and no roosters or chickens creating any noises. Japanese people respects others neighbors being quiet. Every night I sleep in peace.

I am a Canadian living in the Philippines. I love roosters and dogs. I raise roosters and have an Askal Dog, which is the Philippine breed. I talk to Filipinos every day, not foreigners. Blend in and you will enjoy the Philippines even though lots of things are what I call Mickey Mouse. The best thing about having a Good Filipina is that she will inspire you to be a better version of yourself. I am 77 and have a 47 year old beauty who looks 27. Not hard to find if you truly know what you want which most foreigners do not.
I follow both of you and I am 62 and I am planning to retire in the Philippines, I’m already retired and I have a pension and SSi plus I’m a regular gym member and will make sure my health is good before I leave to go to the Philippines 😊
Something for you to think about before you move permanently to the Philippines.
One thing I am very happy about was keeping my duplex in Florida.
I rent one side out and keep the other side to vacation back home to see family and friends.
That said what you need to consider...
I live the same lifestyle here in the Philippines on Samal Island in Garden City as I do in the United States in Clearwater, Florida.
It's all about how you want to live your life.
A single person can live comfortably on $1,500 to $2,000 dollars a month anywhere in the Philippines while a Family of five can live an upper middle class lifestyle on $2,000 to $3,000 dollars a month here.
What it takes to live a comfortable life in the Philippines for this American. (Me)
1) I refuse to rent, I'm not stressing about a house or rental payment every month. We own our own house that's paid for because of this specific reason.
2) I refuse to live without air-conditioning.
Not only do we have a split air-conditioning unit ( central air ) But three window air-conditioning units as well for back up.
I'm never going without air-conditioning.
3) I refuse to live without water to clean our house, take showers, do dishes, do laundry, water the plants, wash our scooters. We have Public water as well as a water tank and electric water pump.
I'm never going to run out of water.
4) We keep 50 gallons of drinking water on hand at all times. I'm never going to run out of drinking water.
5) I refuse to be sitting in our house in a brown out without lights, air-conditioning, and water.
We have Public commercial power as well as a generator.
The generator will run everything in our house when the power goes out.
We have brown outs several times a week.
In most cases they last about 10 minutes but sometimes more so in the event the power is out for more than 30 minutes I will then turn the generator on.
Sometime in the next two years we will be putting up solar panels.
6) We cook with propane gas.
We keep two tanks so we don't have to wait around for a delivery to finish cooking a meal.
I'm never running out of propane gas.
7) Transportation, when it rains we take tricycles to go anywhere we want.
For now public transportation is always easy to get too.
When we go to Davao city we get a taxi cab.
We have two scooters mine and my wife's she prefers to ride with me but saying one breaks down we have a back up.
We will be purchasing a van sometime in the near future.
8) I refuse to eat just Filipino food, We go to Davao city to shop for American food once a month, I eat 50% Filipino food and 50% American food during the month.
I've said all this for one reason, If you're a person who is struggling to live in the United States trying to put food on your table and keep a roof over your head then you may want to explore the idea of relocating to the Philippines.
90% of The Philippine people speak English a big plus when moving to a new country.

Gday Mike, im 72 and lived in Duma for 5 months. Then to Siquijor for 6 months. I never found the travel a problem, even given the fact i ride a 250cc Kawasaki. Im now based in Cebu after meeting the woman of my dreams. Love the chanel, keep up the good work mate

I have never, ever since 2008 visited the Philippines because of a Filipina. Simply put, I don't take sand to the beach, nor do I allow someone to bring me sand at the airport to take to the beach. All Filipinas are pretty much the same. And so, whether you meet her in a bar, at the mall, in church, online, or wherever you will certainly not be her first as some Pinoy or two or three have had more than their fun share of breaking her in and then moving on to the next. I suppose my point is that foreigners should travel to the Philippines to enjoy what the country has to offer, and date when the need arises as I Promise you there are no shortages of girls.

Health: Stage 3 pancreatic cancer, whipple surgery, 7 months of chemo and I just did my 3rd year of testing. Nothing is certain, but both surgeon and oncologist say pretty good chance I am 1 of the 12% that makes it past 5 years. Leave US for PI on July 16. One way trip. Already contacted Silliman U Medical to ask for a specialist and they have one to monitor me and do the tests each year. If I make it another 2 years, no more testing and like I never had the cancer.
Good luck. Not sure I would relocate to the Phils with your condition. Look at the problems Juells have getting critical medicare before he passed. He had to go to Manilla for qualified oncologists that he couldn't get in Duma.
@@rustynail3630 Already decided no more surgery, radiation or chemo. Die in US or die in PI, but maybe live in both, since both oncologist and surgeon see positive prognosis. I can always return. I threw $55K into sister's house to help her in recent months and, in return, she maintains bedroom and office for me in case of return. Stay well.
Geezers are the way to go. A real savvy Filipina say in her 20's will get an old expat say 70's. As they die off, she can flip expats and potentially 2 to 3x her inheritances and live more than comfortably for her entire life.
Better to walk around and show options to live and shopping and food
Health is a key issue. I hear guys comment they are in their 60"s and have good health yet they are overweight and have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. That is not good health to me. i see few Western guys that are fit and have the right BMI. It's not easy eating healthy in the Philippines with their heavy diet of pork and white rice. White rice is so unhealthy.
The reason for the white rice here is its cheap. 50 pesos for a kilogram 2.2 pounds. Less than $1. The markets have a lot of good vegetables and fruits so let's decent part i replace the rice with the quinoa from myself! King why is extremely healthy. I can't remember the name right now but there's an imitation fake thing for the noodles which are bad for you. The problem within you that though is only the americans can afford that the locals cannot eat the healthy stuff. When you make 600 pesos a day $10 you don't get the buy too much food with the rent everything else

I have lived in Cebu city for 5 years and I have had 2 excellent, 20s, long-term girlfriends with college educations thus far. I am in my mid 50s. Don't listen to youtubers who tell you that it is so much harder to get a good, young girlfriend in 2024. The young guys can't close the deal like those of us with solid pensions, so the girls that play with young guys are not even in the same dating market we are interested in. Lol….social media is destroying the dating scene for foreigners in Asia 😂. We’ve all seen girls who are considered average looking in the Philippines go online and have literally thousands of foreigners sending them money, gifts, marriage proposals, etc… These girls go from average looking in their home countries to exotic beauties in the eyes of foreigners. While it’s still very possible to find a girlfriend in the Philippines (and other parts of Asia) it’s going to be getting more and more difficult as time goes on because of increased competition.

I came here at 51, having already bought property. My wife, of 10 years, and I own around USD$1M in commercial and residential property, and we have a regular income. I didn't meet my wife online. I met her in person in HK and we were together for 4 years, having a child together, before we relocated. It was my decision, not hers, to relocate, as I had had enough of the 10-hour day, 6-days a week working life running my own business. After mulling it over, I gave her the 'financial statement', as it were, and she was hard-put to disguise her elation. She didn't marry me for my money; because she was unaware I had any. For her, that was simply a bonus so now she doesn't simply have a decent life, but she lives like a queen, as she deserves. Nowadays, it is she who goes 'to the office' even though she does not need to, while I live a simple, relaxed life. Filipina pride, I suspect.

It's not just that we able to work online now. It's just that the West has gotten worse education, relationships, cost of living, quality of life, and the foods/ healthcare. I was 15 years old when I started thinking about moving overseas. My goal was to move overseas at 30 years old. So no it's not over for 60+ year Olds because they will always have that retirement stable income and filipinas will still pick them first because they seem as a safe option. My girlfriend is the exception that wanted a younger guy, most Filipinas don't.
Most older guys here are broke thats why their here. Also the young poontang. Some do UA-cam channels because they dont have alot of money. If you have a phone you have a ready made UA-cam channel.
