I bought the Farberware mixer based on your reviews about three weeks ago and couldn’t be more pleased !! Does everything I could ask for and doesn’t take up a lot of counter space and is light weight. Now that I’ve seen your review on the attachment kit I will get it also as I have nothing but trust and confidence in you !! Thanks for this review !!!😊😊😊
That's impressive.... perfectly grated cheese. The slicer looked decent too. I can see that being useful for scalloped potatoes. Thanks again for sharing Amy.
Thank you Tara for watching. We appreciate it. Yeah, this thing tore up that cheese pretty evenly. I had no problems munching it. LOL. I love scalloped potatoes. I think Amy could fry some potatoes up using this thing.
Amy you are the greatest! I love all your videos because you tell it just like it is and plus you help us out so that we don't go by and things blindly I appreciate you thank you so much
Nothing infamous about it, if you watch everybody ELSE'S reviews on it. LOL. But then we don't know how to use it. Zukes are funny. I think Amy's were OK. Sometimes they are rubbery and really a pain. I like fresh ones better, but apparently no one seems to be selling those. Maybe freezing them would help, but wouldn't that mess with them?
Hi Amy&Eric!!! Nice attachment for your machine. When I make my Zucchini bread I put them in the blender. I always have. It always came out good. I mite try shredding it one time. You two are so.. cute. Love your channel. Im learing so...much . Have a wonderful day my friends. DiDi. P. S. Plus you cant beat the price if your on a budget.
Thanks DiDi. Glad you enjoyed. I hadn't heard of using a blender for zucchini, but that is easier than using a grater. And I like easier. LOL. Yeah, this is a budget friendly stand mixer (compared to its more popular counterparts).
Hi Crystal! Unfortunately, Wal-Mart doesn't sell this attachment anymore. I wish they would carry it again. I know that Farberware has a newer model out. Not sure if there are attachments for it. Thanks for watching!
I sadly discovered that yesterday after spending all day looking had my mixer for about a year before I realized the cap came off ended up getting a KitchenAid as a Christmas wedding anniversary gift
Oh I can’t wait for that test on the kenmores. I haven’t seen the originals run either so that will be something. I almost got that pink farberware when it first came out. But I didn’t. I think that was the wrong move! The reviews have been wonderful on it and now the attachments. I wonder why they only have the red now. Thanks for taking the time to show this. Thanks for the hint Eric for what’s up Wednesday
Thanks Sophie. Yeah you can never tell with these mixers, but it looks like Farbeware (or someone else) did them right. So a very good (and affordable) mixer. As for the Kenmores, a totally different story for one of them. So we'll see how that goes. Glad you enjoyed!!!!
Barbara, I have the new shredder KA attachment. Some helpful tips: 1. Use a silicon bottle brush set to clean the metal inserts after they soak for a bit in hot water. That sharp blades wont ruin it and it will clean easily. 2. Have cheese very cold, just know a thin slice will be left. I get a big block and shred for the week. Also makes great cauliflower rice!
@@asd_calimom3516 YOu are so right about most cheeses like cheddar, and american ..I chill softer cheese in the freezer. Hard cheeses (parmaisian and romano grate best at room temp.
Nice review. I see one positive of this attachment over the Kitchenaid attachment that I have...the cheese block was fully grated. With the KA attachment, I have a thin slices of cheese left that is stuck between the plastic piece that goes into the hub and the metal shredder insert. It seems with the Farberware set, there is less room between the insert and attachment!
Hard to review a product not sold in the US. And with the price of international shipping, if you can even get one sent here, would be way more than the cost of the mixer.
@@christofferlangendorf2212 Not only an adapter, but a step down transformer (which are cheap for lower watts (but vice versa for higher wattage devices). @@asd_calimom3516 Thank you. Yes, that's the problem with electrical appliances is that we are mostly compatible with Canada and maybe Mexico. Some small appliances have a switch to change from 110 to 220 volts, like electric shavers. But for cooking appliances, it would be cost prohibitive to ship and to configure the correct voltage.

I've never seen a pasta attachment for the Farberware. Walmart has this slicer shredder and they used to have a meat grinder. The Faberware is a good basic mixer. If you want one that is more full function, you probably would have to upgrade.

I too purchased the Farberware mixer based on your reviews. This model was designed by another branded company [almost certain its Sunbeam Mixmaster Planetary Model Number: FPSBSM3481-033] that makes this mixer for Farberware. Who sells to Walmart and now Amazon. Parts are non existent. Seeing you have Soooooooooo many mixers, can you try to interchange the whisks and possibly other add on attachments from other units to see if any will fit on this unit??? Thanks in advance, and please respond if another units attachments fit.
Hi Michelle! Farberware brought out an attachment pack that has a meat grinder, a slicer/shredder, and a pasta extruder. I've only tested the slicer/shredder on the show. It worked really good. I haven't used the other attachments. Here is a link to them: www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-Meat-Grinder-Slice-and-Shred-and-Pasta-Maker-Stand-Mixer-Attachments-3-pc-set/405674269
@@AmyLearnsToCook Thank you, attachments will be my next order. More important, so many posts on internet are about the easily broken whip and no where to reorder, even calling customer service is a fail. Can you try whisks on this unit from your collection and see if any work please??? Thanks Bunches!!!
I prefer the cutters having a flare so the cut food falls out more easily. My experience has been not as good with the cylinder slicing/shredding blades. More food tends to stay in the cylinder and not fall out regardless of speed. KitchenAid 's new attachment is like this too and don't like it for he same reason. Prefer using a mandoline for slicing and old Mouli to shred.
Good observations about how these things work. My mom used to have a salad shooter, and I loved it. Very simple to use. I like simplicity. These are OK. But not a fan of how the stuff stays in there, unless you use higher speeds (centrifical force to get the stuff out).
Has anyone else realized you can buy this mixer for $100 at full price, three attachments (including the pasta maker) for cheaper than the kitchenaid pasta maker attachment alone? My mind is blown.
KAs are "prettier" than Scrappy Doo. But I agree. Scrappy is rather solid sounding. Only time will tell how long it takes to burn either of these machines up. But you can buy a couple Scrappys for one KA, that's for sure.
