Sad part is that he was a pretty good wrestler in the territories and from accounts I've heard, a nice guy. He just became a victim of Vince's 'bad gimmick' thing, and his weight got out of control.
IKR!? I had tears of laughter this entire episode at the sheer lunacy of Bastion Booger with his little dance before ass pinning opponents, topped off by the Hawk's ultra-dry sarcasm. There's good wrestling but I have to admit Booger was hilarious at just how disgusting and over-the-top his gimmick was. I miss 80's, early 90's WF.
I love how Vince used his position to basically just personally attack this man, giving him the most embarrassing outfit of all time while constantly telling the entire arena about how fat and disgusting he is and how he smells really bad.
Remember Vince McMahon one s*** himself on purpose then went backstage after s******* himself on live TV and chased Gerald briscoe with his soiled underpants and thought it was the funniest thing in years
What sucks is his previous gimmick in WCW (Norman the Lunatic) actually managed to get over. Mike was apparently a really nice dude to boot, even though Vince kept saddling him with awful gimmicks. I still can't believe Vince decided to put him on commentary at one point.
- Allegedly (this goes for everything in wrestling), Vince wanted him to be in a tag team with Bam Bam but he wanted him to lose some weight. He failed so Vince threatened him with the Bastion Booger gimmick and he accepted. He said he did it for the free food he could suff his face with (wrestlers didn't make a lot of money back then).
Well, at least Booger and Bigelow looked alike, and he could improve his ring skill by teaming up with him, maybe it could be a Bigelow and Vader rippoff
I always liked Bastion Booger. I find him entertaining and like his matches. I don't care if anyone agrees with me or not. Back in the day, I thought he was about 6'4". I never even knew about some of these matches.
Saw Booger in a very small house show in Rawtenstall England UK about 2 months after his release. Times must have been hard still amazed that he was on the card considering the times. Circa 1994
@@bigjohnsbreakfastlog5819 his first theme was him burping loud. Then he said his name all slow, like if they screwed his voice. Then you just heard all this sludge. It was actually funnier
Come on man ! Bastion Booger was Mukhan Singh in Stampede Wrestling and he's the greatest athlete to come out of Alberta since Wayne Gretzky .Fun trivia ..... He would refer to the late Owen Hart as Omar LOL I miss Stampede Wrestling
P.S. Bastion Booger's real name is Mike Shaw and my gr.6 teacher had a signed picture of him on a poster that said " When you gotta go, you gotta go " while the picture was of him with a toilet seat around his neck . Aaahhhhh The good old days .
One word for Booger, disgusting. The gimmick is the most truly revolting one to watch every time, and I feel sick watching, and that's saying something of all the bad/disgusting gimmicks Vince has had wrestlers do over the years. Especially the opening promo for Raw with Heenan in early Nov, that's the only time I have ever felt my stomach feel like it's going to puke.
The Wrestling Challenge episode after Survivor Series 1993 had Rick Martel spraying Bastion's Ass with the Arrogance container and the match resulted in a disqualification.🤣
The character of Bastian Booger is actually very believable ! We all had some people on our high school or college teams like him. On our powerlifting team, we had this guy who didn't wash his lifting uniform for weeks, chomped on dessicated liver tablets, ate lots of food, farted a lot, and wore dirty clothes. We also had a heavyweight who was built like him who went around with his shirt off! And then there was that big Russian Alexeyev with his small singlet. The character of Booger portrays that and more. When I see his matches, I am remember of the good old days! Mike Shaw did a good job as Booger! They should have played a loud fart for his entrance, Yes, those liver tablets made me fart !
WWE should have brought him in as Makhan Singh, positioned him as a solid mid carder and he wouldn't have had such a terrible career. He was actually good on the mic.
Sean Waltman wrestled him. I also remember when Rick Martel sprayed him with the "Arrogance" cologne. "Martel should be disqualified for that." "What for ?"
Just remember Vince McMahon one time pooped himself on live TV finish the segment then went backstage and chased Gerald briscoll with his pooped stained underpants laughing hysterically
Nice video! You missed a few Bastion Booger matches, though. :) Bastion Booger vs. Owen Hart, Bastion Booger vs. Rick Martel, and Bastion Booger vs. 123 Kid. You can find all three of them here on UA-cam. :)

@@Markyd123 Vince hits and misses and most of those that aren't well known are mostly misses not caused by the Wrestlers.
The Norman the Lunatic character was ok in WCW as well.
@@southsider8065 He did a Helluva job with the Trucker Norm gimmick too before Norman The Lunatic.

Yup. He basically had him this long with a gross gimmick to bully him
Even the "Booger" name, totally a bully nickname haha
Thank you Hawk Hogan. I’ve been looking everywhere for this one.
Gross out humor was never my thing.
Me either but Papa Vince must have loved it back then haha
This wasn't even humorous.

Mike Shaw's Trucker Norm gimmick was over pretty well too before he did Norman The Lunatic.

A RAW taping only netted you $25 back when the show started. That ain't gonna pay the bills.
I mean, RAW tapings were only $25 USD despite them being the main show.
All those poor jobbers who had to take the dancing ass drop...
It was so bad that Mike Bell had to turn to a life of drugs.
His gimmick was so cool. He was ugly and smelled bad.
I had to google his theme music after this. I somehow have no recollection of that absolute banger.

That Friar Ferguson match is one of those "so bad it's good" matches for me, especially since it threw some members of the church into a fit.

I agree-it was revolting to watch but wow I was laughing the entire time. Booger looked like an evil spawning satanic egg in that getup.
I guess my first guy I requested truly "Flopped Like a Magikarp" on this one. Great video and thanks once again MarkyD123.

He had a very... Interesting theme to boot. It consisted of a guy going "I'm the booger man" followed by sounds of a man dealing with constipation.

That Slapnuts appearance got me good lol.
finally bastian booger video
This was an awesome video. I laughed my ass off the whole time.
Best Ring of the Hawk ever
This turned my stomach a bit. The plan was to create a truly disgusting gimmick, and it worked!
I guess I’m the only person who remember Bastion Booger fondly. In a time when wrestling was goofy, I felt he fit in
I had such crush on him
He kind of did but he was so damn appalling that I can't imagine anyone wanting to get near him.
You know if they fire cm punk from aew he'll qualify for ring of the hawk
He had exactly 23 matches
And he may qualify for a good grade since most of the matches were solid to great.
Guess not everything from that era was “Golden” ba-dum tsst
13:09 It's this intensity, passion and madness that the current generation of wrestling lacks.
Right. now everyone thinks they gotta have pyro and act cool despite them being 175lb job guys

BEARHUG is a move used a lot back in the days
"The Dancing Ass Drop" - I wish this would've been the actual name of the move.
Man, Bam Bam and Earthquake were so agile for their size.
I had no idea this dude had this many matches. The gimmick wasn't as short lived as I thought 🤢
Also that outfit makes him look like an egg
Funny you say that. I thought it lasted long enough to not qualify for Ring of the Hawk.

Great channel I love your videos Hawk!
The battle royal was won by both Razor Ramon and Rick Martel, who then faced each other the next week for the IC Title.
Booger went over the top rope
Should have had him do an El Duce gimmick. Mentors with the entrance theme.
The sleep bandit...

90s post Hogan but pre-Attitude Era was horrible really bad idea financially for Vince to hire people just to bury them on commentary
