And I want to grab the Red one when they finally release another batch of those. Also got 2 different of the Firefly Stripe Series. OMG Even better. Firefly is CRUSHING IT!

I never liked the way the upper horn was shaped on the musicman eddie guitars, very telecaster-ish, I always liked the peaveys the most. They are exceptionally nice guitars though and the sterlings are great too.

It is very tele shaped because originally it was going to be for Albert lee and his signature EBMM guitar called the Albert lee AXIS! EBMM already had that body shape when eddie came along. so they showed it to EVH when he came onboard and he liked it. if you google EBMM EVH prototype you will see a pic of EVH playing a real early model and it has axis on the headstock!
Ive had my Amber Quilt '02 Peavey Wolfgang since 2004. The best guitar ive owned! Good for you Jay, Xmas comes early👍🏻 This will be the best playing, sounding guitar in your arsenal!

Yes SWEETWATER is now selling these new but there are some changes from the older ones. The Body is now made from"JABONE" not basswood like on the older ones. Jabone is a basswood substitute and tonally there is no difference also the floyd locking nut is is now top mounted so they screws do not go through the neck on the Sweetwater ones. On the older ones the mounting is through the neck.

@@jayguitar Yeah the changes are not that big a deal to be honest. the Jabon body wood is the same thing as Basswood tone and weight wise and the locking nut mount being a top mount is sometimes considered better? Mine has the through neck mount for the locking nut.
Those are amazing guitars for the money! I have the AX40D which is the version that comes with the custom wound dimarzio's that are exclusively in the EVH or AXIS. Sterling only offered this version for one year. If you look online for Sterling AX40D you can see what i am talking about.
Very cool! I had wondered if this was the D model as I had read about it. I'm guessing that the D variant is pretty rare. I have changed the pickups to the Tonerider Panama set now - wooooo! I Paid $425 shipped with a EBMM gig bag. mine is the quilt cranberry burst finish. which is like a dark blood red color. you got a crazy good deal on your red one. They are extremely great guitars for the $$$ and of a high quality overall! Even the stock trem does not really need to be replaced but the Gotoh 1996t is always a great upgrade!
