Great analysis of my favorite TV show of all time. You went over all the best episodes. Though, I have two notes. 1 - Its not right to call Louise a do-nothing, as she was constantly involved in the neighborhood Help Center alongside her best friend Helen Willis. 2 - In the episode you mentioned with Mother Jefferson (titled "George Finds A Father"), she never actually got involved romantically with the man from the past. He proposed to her and she refused.
This show was not perfect but it was better than a lot of the other black shows. It didn't get the awards it should have gotten. Only one award in the ten years it was on. Best direction, writing, supporting for Paul Benedict, Zara Cully, Marla Gibbs, should have been nominated for best supporting actor and actresses. After almost fifty years It still hold up as one of the most iconic shows of all times. The theme song is the best of all.
WONDERFUL MEMORYS
