Amber, I am so happy for you and your family! I can't even express how happy I am for you!I have been watching you since 2017 and have followed your journey to different suburban areas. I am so glad you now have more room to grow food, raise fowl, keep bees and enjoy your family! You deserve this more than anyone I can think of! I am looking forward to see how you flourish and grow!
Beautiful inspiring soul, so happy to see you come back and share so generously and authentically. Love your content so much! So wild you got so many blue berry plants!!! & everything else, sharing intentionally with each other, and talking to people. You are so cool, thank you for existing!!! Stay magical 🫶🏽💕✨💫
In the UK its normal not to have a dryer. They use a lot of energy anyway, better to air dry. The grounds around your house are so nice and it looks really peaceful :)
You have already done so much work on the house, the garden, the chickens, the fence… its a lot what you accomplished besides having a TBI this year!!!
Ohhh, I so want to know about the irrigation from the pond! I have a pond and I've been saying that the fish poo water would be so good for the garden! Unfortunately the pond isn't very close to the garden though. Yay bees! I have bees too!
Homesteading is absolute chaos and i love every second of the madness. You can have all the perfect plans in the world, but things have a way of organically getting placed into a way that actually ends up being perfect for your setup. Even if its the opposite of what you had in mind at first. Somehow it all wotks out and there will always be food for you in there somewhere
I am new to your channel & your hard work ethic is amazing. I am a gardening nut in the suburbs & gardening never feels like hard work. I am the rare person that has no front yard grass except the perimeters. I brought in soil. Bro-in-law used his bobcat to make berms & I planted veggies & flowers together b/c the front yard has the best sun. Neighbors do not trim their big honking trees. You have a great healthy lifestyle. I dehydrate my own herbs for cooking & making teas. There is always something new to learn. I grow Asian veggies too.
Oh very nice Homestead. Yes I imagine that much property will take years and years of projects that might not ever end. And I think that's totally normal. Living in a world of property brothers and Pinterest makes it difficult to get a realistic perspective on what it truly takes to fix up an old house right, especially, when you're doing a majority of it on your own. My husband and I have been at it for nearly 10 years and we're still not done. We're not even homesteading. But I'm an early childhood educator and run my small multi-age out of a secondary part of our home…. So living off the land in a different way 🤣 our home has been re-renovated with our own two hands from top to bottom over the last 10 years and we just finished another project last week. Thank you for showing the realities of this. To see slow persistence and patience in everyday life is so rare to see these days. Beautiful watching your family build your life.
Using sauerkraut packaging for insulation is next-level Depression era thinking😅. Also I was going to share my solution for quackgrass... I have a horrible problem with it as well and the solution I have found that works best for me is deep mulch. Like really deep mulch. Every year I have been adding wood chips. Wood chips upon wood chips. Not in the growing beds, but in the pathways and around the edges, where the problem is the worst. Eventually, you force the quackgrass to grow in the wood chips, not in the soil below and then you can pull it out by the foot. Very satisfying, I might add but it's not a quick process. Good luck with it!
That shed looks like a whole new structure! Y'all worked so hard, and it shows! I've been following since you cut your hair, and to see how far you've come is amazing!! 💕
I’m in uk and I’d be lost without my tumble dryer - we couldn’t have a vented one so use a condenser dryer ( better for not creating damp) You’ve done so much! Well done to you and Joseph x
Similar thing happened to More than Farmers, and they tried the flame thrower but it didn't clear it out enough. They ended up just macheting everything down . Good luck with however you proceed.
You guys are so amazing! I have been following your journey through life for many years and enjoy watching you and your family so much. I hope that you are proud of all that you have accomplished in such a short time. That place is magical and needed you guys. I look forward to seeing where you go with things in the new year! Be well :)
I've been following since the autumn of 2018 when I was pregnant with my son. You were like a light in a dark cave for me when it came to parenting and really just living the best you can when you don't have much. My son will be 6 in February and to see where you are now in your journey is so incredible and inspiring! I consider you the UA-cam version of the big sister I always needed haha. I am just so happy for your family. You guys have been through so much over the years and have worked your behinds off to accomplish all of this in such little time. Your dedication is amazing. I'm so excited to see you continue to grow! Hopefully, I can have a house of my own one day where I can apply all that I have learned from your hard work and advice 💙 Thank you for all that you guys do!! Also, I am very invested in this war against the quackgrass! 🤣
I'm from Germany and use a heat pump dryer. It catches all the water in a small watertank which you then just pour down the drain. It doesn't need an outside vent. They are not cheap unfortunately but it works great in my apartment.
Not sure if you can get them in America but look for a condenser dryer they don’t need venting and collect the water in a compartment you can then use to water the plants
Amber ,ye took on a lot, but he are young ,so ye will get through it gradually , and the children are getting bigger and will be able to help , God Bless ,Anne ,
I've been watching since you had your last channel and I love how research based your decisions seem to be (you mention researching a lot in your videos). If you're taking video requests, I would love to know what sources (online, books, articles, people) you use when making some of these decisions!
Oh I wish you would do a video on how you trained your Cane for poultry. We have a 3mo Pyr puppy and I'd appreciate some pointers. Maybe your husband can do the video since you're spread thin... Love your content
Haha, yes, they really do multiply quickly! It’s wild how fast things can get out of hand when you start adding up the costs. But there’s something so satisfying about raising them, even if it does add up. Thankful I've been able to find so much thrifted! 😅 Definitely a learning experience!
I've been watching you for years now and I so enjoy seeing how your life has changed and your new homesteading adventure!

I prefer it as well, I really don’t want a dryer ever. 😂 I like hanging the clothing. Makes them last longer!
The winter here really gets in the way of line-drying, unfortunately!
@@Italics62 I line dry in Scotland, they even do it in Siberia etc. It is possible (freeze drying, lol)
Ne ,nije 😢
Pat yourselves on the back! So many changes, and so many new skills learned. Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see what's next.
New subscriber…..also from rural Ontario. You have accomplished so much on your property. Love your content.
Welcome aboard, and thank you so much!
You have already done so much work on the house, the garden, the chickens, the fence… its a lot what you accomplished besides having a TBI this year!!!
Older homes seem to come with lots of projects to do. Love the yard and the pond.
It was a very neglected house and property when we got it… we knew we needed to do a lot of work, but still found surprises! 😂
I hope you and Joseph both feel so accomplished. You really have done A LOT considering all things with health and unexpected expenses.
Ohhh, I so want to know about the irrigation from the pond! I have a pond and I've been saying that the fish poo water would be so good for the garden! Unfortunately the pond isn't very close to the garden though.

All about my garden irrigation! It's a bit bootstrapped, but works so well! ua-cam.com/video/MWoorHgxH8Y/v-deo.html

What a lot of hard work! Well done🥰🥰🥰
Thank you 🤗
My cane corso Calypso also doesn't go after our chickens. She's such a good girl.❤❤❤
Just because they look scary (and honestly can be to strangers) doesn't mean they aren't good around chickens ;)
@FairlyRooted mine is actually the chicken🤣

Thank you very much!
Look at all you archived in such a small amount of time! How wonderful ❤
You've done a ton of work!! Great job! There's no end to projects on the homestead!
You got that right! And thank you!
In Europe we have dryer without an outside vent. It collects the steam into a water tank that we empty every couple use. It works well
Thank you for inspiring me!
Wow! Wow! Wow! You all have accomplished so much! Looking forward to seeing what comes next. Love your videos! 💕
You've been busy! Keep on growing.
Thanks, you!!

We have a ventless steam dryer maybe you can find one of those

Well done you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 😃
Wow! That’s all I can say!
Apple wood is good for grilling
Great quality camera.
Amazing progress! Have you seen the all in one washer dryer combos? They are ventless. No exhaust needed. I love watching your progress!
We have, but honestly I don’t mind hanging our clothing- it lasts longer that way!
Despite the accident you guys crushed it this year!
Will you share where you buy asparagus crowns and raspberry canes?
Love it!
You should check into the washer dryer combos.
Honestly, we prefer just the washer anyways… better for the clothing! Makes them last longer!
Love ur videos
Thank you so much!
I love your hair braid Amber-remember the dreads?
Oh I wish you would do a video on how you trained your Cane for poultry. We have a 3mo Pyr puppy and I'd appreciate some pointers. Maybe your husband can do the video since you're spread thin... Love your content
I trained both our dogs for the poultry, I'm not even sure Joseph knows what I did haha... But I will make that video when I get a chance!
@@FairlyRooted Thank you thank you
Amber, what is TBI. You are very interesting. What did you study. Does Joseph work full time on the property. New subscriber.
a TBI is a traumatic brain injury. I have two degrees in film and literature. Joseph works full time remotely. Welcome aboard :)
Now wait a minute... a family-focused youtube channel that doesn't exploit your kid for views? New sub
You won't see our kids or their faces! I prefer to keep them off of here.
@@FairlyRooted I love to see it! Engaging & informative for families while respecting their privacy 😄
