many many moons ago i got to sing this song at a burns supper night when i was at scoutstoun primary school in 1970's, this song brigs back many happy memories, many thanks for a great tune , a great rendition
Have always loved this tune, just back from the Usher Hall Edinburgh where a Mezzo Soprano singer Colette Ruddy sang it most beautifully, but I think accordion solo is my favourite.
Especially the first minute was beyond words for me. I personally like accordeon's best when they play solo. I read here this piece is a slow air one. Man, you manage to catch the soft breeze in a stunning poetic way !!
Thanks, I try and match the songs with the pics on most of my tunes. One of these days I do a proper vid of me, which should lose me a lot of subscribers hee hee
Aww, thanks for that great comment. I've never played Ae fond kiss believe it or not. That's just gone into my 'request box' so stay tuned. Should'nt be TOO long.
Have loved this tune ever since I heard it played by the massed pipes and drums at the funeral of the Queen Mother.. Since then I have heard many variations on it, but Graham your rendition wow, is on an album...?
This is such a beautiful daunting tune i love to play on my pipes. But your version is mindblowing Graham. Did you ever think about playing and recording Ae Fond Kiss. I keep looking forward to your video's
Oh he ro see them oh see them. Oh ro soon shall I see them the Mist covered mountains of home. There shall I visit the place of my birth And they'll give me a welcome the warmest on earth All so loving and kind full of music and mirth, In the sweet sounding language of home. Chorus Oh ro soon shall I see them; Oh he ro see them oh see them. Oh ro soon shall I see them the Mist covered mountains of home. There shall I gaze on the mountains again, On the fields and the woods and the burns and the glens, Away 'mong the corries beyond human ken In the haunts of the deer I will roam Chorus Oh ro soon shall I see them; Oh he ro see them oh see them. Oh ro soon shall I see them the Mist covered mountains of home. Hail to the mountains with summits of blue, To the glens with their meadows of sunshine and dew. To the women and men ever constant and true, Ever ready to welcome one home. Songwriters: Mark Knopfler For non-commercial use only. Data From: Musixmatch

I love it deeply!!! it touches our souls. Thank you so much for the tune =)
I imagine the people that gave this video a negative rating also do not like ice cream, puppies, or sunsets.

"Lost in the mist...I can't find my way home."
Scottish poetry?
Apologise for the delay in a reply, only just noticed your post. Don't have any cd's sorry. Maybe in the future ?
It wasn't me, Honest LOL
Thanks, I guess when you live here you don't apperciate what you've got
someone said they played this at jfk's funeral,
OK, Give me a few mins
I can do that no bother. Do you want the box played as a solo instrument ?
If you want the ' band sound ' I can do that too but give me a few weeks.
I presume there are words then??
Oh he ro see them oh see them.
Oh ro soon shall I see them the
Mist covered mountains of home.
There shall I visit the place of my birth
And they'll give me a welcome the warmest on earth
All so loving and kind full of music and mirth,
In the sweet sounding language of home.
Chorus
Oh ro soon shall I see them;
Oh he ro see them oh see them.
Oh ro soon shall I see them the
Mist covered mountains of home.
There shall I gaze on the mountains again,
On the fields and the woods and the burns and the glens,
Away 'mong the corries beyond human ken
In the haunts of the deer I will roam
Chorus
Oh ro soon shall I see them;
Oh he ro see them oh see them.
Oh ro soon shall I see them the
Mist covered mountains of home.
Hail to the mountains with summits of blue,
To the glens with their meadows of sunshine and dew.
To the women and men ever constant and true,
Ever ready to welcome one home.
