That jumpscare was 10 times worse than it would've been in any other youtubers video simply because you made me forget that it was a horror game for most of the video, kudos to you
Now that you mention it, that starting bedroom DOES look suspiciously similar to that Serial Killer Basement he designed in that Video Gamer Tycoon game with the gravity-defying load-bearing posters....
What I learned for the 1st person game I will make out of boredom at some point: 1) false sense of security is achieved after 4 minutes 2) Player wants to do funny things in scary environment 3) Basketballs!
if you're going to make it horror, i can't stress this enough, small details scare people more than random jump scares, make a door move, remove a something small but noticeable from a room, change the color of something, all without explanation.
i almost never react to jumpscares, especially when watching someone play videogames, but Josh was just so happy, puttering around with his little basketball friend. The first one startled me a bit, not enough, but that second one... HE'S RUNNING!
@@anawkwardbean165 Been a couple months but, the thing that got me is that i don't think i've seen him actually scream like that in the dozens and dozens of videos of him i've seen, my heart actually started going pretty fast after both of the scares.
I don't get scared. That doesnt happen. Josh what did you do? You disarmed me and everyone else. That hurt. The fact that you also suffered is wonderful. Thank you.
Honestly, I got startled with him too because I’m so used to his confidence that I didn’t expect him to get scared/startled. HOWEVER, I then replayed his cries of pure terror many MANY times whilst laughing, very hard. I never knew I could hear such raw emotion from Josh. This is now my favorite video of his yet. 5:25 is that scary, now hilarious moment
I should have seen the elevator jump scare coming, and I did bc it reminded me of the Red Room and the Shining But then he made the joke and I forgot what kind of game he was playing 🤣🤣🤣
Josh: Sn Nior... What the hell does that mean? *flips it upside down so it says Join Us* Ohh, that makes a lot more sense. That part killed me, because I was thinking the same thing
Holy crap, that's gotta be one of the best jumpscares ever. The fact that you were just joking around and leaning in, impatiently waiting for the doors to open...
Wait, no, the man who builds insane hospitals with toilets next to operating tables and police stations with outdoor shooting ranges is perplexed by an ELEVATOR in a bathroom??? I've seen you do worse. MUCH worse.
"I'm in an abandoned building, but there's already such a sense of belonging!!!" This is the kinda optimism we need!! thank gosh you play all these scary games because I'm too scared to play them on my own -- but you make them silly and watchable for me, a certified Scaredy Cat Weenie
This is the first time I've heard someone scream in a horror game video that didn't feel annoying. I was right there with you, Josh. I normally hate horror game videos but this was actually pretty entertaining.
I love the "totally forgets it's a horror game... leans into elevator door while waiting for it." Like, even in MGS I never stand that close to an elevator; you never know what's coming out when the doors open.
I honestly love the running comentary. I can actualy do something else at the same time and I still understand what's happening. can't wait for you to get more subs!
Yup, I screeched when the elevator opened... And argh the running and catching you freaked me out a bit again. But omg, he has a garbage bag over his head... I love your pathetic little "no likely" though. XD
The relaxed joking atmosphere had me COMPLETELY unready for the jumpscare and my cat is now mad at me for suddenly jumping and screaming so that's a thing now
I love how at the end, the Blame Him main screen just cuts off into that bright, cheery colorful end cap! (Also, when your character died, I replayed it a lot and laughed because of your reaction after the first time I saw it, which is probably not gonna let me sleep for a month)
normally with jumpscares like these i'd yelp and jump out of my seat and cover my eyes out of fear. this time i only jumped. i love that you make scary games not as scary :)
I literally can't get scared while watching you play horror games. I'm too busy laughing. Thanks for being the way you are, Josh. And yes ik im like a year late.
Also on a side note it would be so awesome if Lilian could do a drawing skit of this! I love let's game episodes and it would be so awesome to see this in an animation short. :D
I remember the Dewey Decimal System. We had actual tests on it in elementary school. And how to read card catalogs and the proper way to write one out... yay?
That jumpscare was 10 times worse than it would've been in any other youtubers video simply because you made me forget that it was a horror game for most of the video, kudos to you
I was thinking the exact same thing. This guy is going to end up with millions of subs.
Wait when's the jumpscare?
NEVER MIND I FIGURED IT OUT
I know right? I died. Didn't even shriek properly I got such a fright: warbled like a turkey in a fog horn.
@@KaiTheKool 5:24 - for the future people
Seems like you woke up in a place you designed in some other game.
Was gonna comment the same lol all of that furniture's placement

lmao good point, Josh has finally become one of his own experiments
Best comment on youtube
Hahahaha this is maybe my favorite comment on one of his videos
What I learned for the 1st person game I will make out of boredom at some point:
1) false sense of security is achieved after 4 minutes
2) Player wants to do funny things in scary environment
3) Basketballs!
All I noticed was that if said game is linear, and you know something can't come from behind you, that makes it a lot less scary
if you're going to make it horror, i can't stress this enough, small details scare people more than random jump scares, make a door move, remove a something small but noticeable from a room, change the color of something, all without explanation.

Put random tips around the map to make players freak out.
Hrk.. heart attack at that first jumpscare. I forgot it was a horror game in literally 5 minutes. Yay me.
He isnt good at making things scary, he removes all fear, he should play outlast
@@burntferidgerator6848 I've never been more affected by jumpscares in games than when watching Josh. lol
I felt pain at that jumpscare, for the same reason as you. Then I'd bursted with laughter

*i screamed* at the second jump scare
his comments and gameplay gave me that false sense of security. Lol.
the first one got me good, the second I was just laughing
First jumpscare... I actually shouted in fear for the first time in my life. 👏👏
Josh lured us into a false sense of security so that we weren't mentally prepared for the jump scares... but that backfired since he lured himself too

As a male, I can confirm elevators in bathrooms.
And they are usually blood-red and lead to the underworld.
And have heart attack demon's who drag you inside and leave's you there
@@cecilialong7770 how do *you* know? 😂
That's where the stench comes from
