@@analogcomics haha - that's a nice thought that Estonia can be actually viewed as south of something. The comic situation here is pretty bad - we are lucky if 1-2 comics get translated per year. And we don't have a dedicated comics shop here. But as long as online bookshops are willing to ship books here then I'm happy. Even some Finnish bookstores ship their stuff here. Couple of years ago Suomalainen kirjajakauppa helped me to collected Blueberry hardcovers published by Like.
@@opstops So I assume you know some Finnish? That would give you some more selection to choose from. I´ve heard that Finnish sounds as broken to your ears as Estonian to ours. Very close but somehow completely wrong:) BTW that Like hardcover Blueberry-series is really well done. I have two volumes(the last story arc).
@@analogcomics thanks to watching obscene amounts of YLE and MTV 3 during my childhood Finnish was the first second language I learned. This opened a whole new horizon for consuming other media too - books and comics were quick to follow. Although many years back I did read some loose issues of Blueberry I decided that LIKE's hardcovers were ideal jumping point for getting a complete experience. The extra materials added to this edition feel like a separate book as they give a lot of background and context for the European comics industry in those days. And reading the whole Blueberry saga from start to finish couple of years was a true pleasure.
@@opstops It´s hard to explain how strange it feels to hear that someone has been able to "open new horizon" in comics with Finnish language.😄It´s wonderful to know this happened to you - but still very strange! I´m so used to telling people that knowing Finnish has no upsides. Only 5 million people speak it and it will always keep the market small for comics. I agree 100% with you on those Blueberry collected hardcovers. The extras were so good that I have a dream to own them one day. It´s just that I´ve had most of the series in English for several decades. I read it through in one go two years ago and it was still - as you say - a true pleasure. For me Jean Moebius Giraud is the absolute #1 artist. I never get tired looking at his work.

@@analogcomics My channel is indeed in Dutch. I have considered doing my video's in English, but when I started my channel, 8 years ago, I was the only one, so I kept it in Dutch. I agree, there are so many great comic, too bad not all of them are translated into English.

Good move! I had zero symptoms but it still turned out this way. After 50 PSA test once a year keeps your mind at ease. Glad to hear I helped you find new comics to read. Sometimes hunting them down is part of the thrill but sometimes it´s just pure frustration:)

Thank you Corey! Yes, suffer and endure was the way my generation was brought up. Sometimes that leads to people keeping things inside for too long and causing even worse damage. Just making this video helped me ventilate stress so I am already planning next one:)

We need to hear the voice about european comics for sure, so the world can know more than the Incal and tin tin. Those are good, but we know there is more! I saw a lot more good artist back in the day on a few heavy metal magazines I had. I personaly enjoy the art of Regis Loisel, Don Lawrence and Alessandro Barbucci. Anyway, I wish you the best. Thanks! While there are many great comics from all over the world European storytelling still speaks to me in a way that nothing else can. I´m already eager to put my mind deeper into this subject. Heavy Metal was a big thing for me too. Would be nice to find more of those magazines that were published before 2000. I have The Quest For The Time Bird. I really loved it but haven´t read it in years! One of those things that I should now have time to get back to. Don Lawrence Storm is also one of my favorites. Sadly only couple albums were translated to Finnish.

Fortunately, the recovery rate is good. I'm sure your treatments will be unpleasant, but try not to let it consume you. Be strong, but pace yourself. Try to keep some joy in your life.
