I love how angry Yaz and Ryan were and they didn’t even wait a year! Rory waits 2000, Amy 60 years Bill years, rose years, so many waited so many more and weren’t nearly as upset.

    • @meryrose428

I think the others (Rose, Amy, Bill) eventually just "gave up" on seeing the Doctor return. Perhaps, even if Ryan, Yaz and Graham had had to wait years like the other companions, they too would have "passed over" inevitably.
For them, the Doctor returned "only" after ten months, so Yaz's anger / frustration and Ryan and Graham's reticence were justifiable.

I loved it-- Ryan's dad abandoned him, and seeing how he confronted the Doctor, didn't take her BS, i'm not worried about him being reconnected with his dad now. Proper proud. Then Yaz, who spent all that time trying to find her, convincing herself that her best friend+ wasn't dead, that she had to save her. Of course there was angst! I doubt Yaz imagined their reunion going like it did, but seeing 13 (fake) cheery like nothing happened when Yaz had been in torment for 10 months made her snap. I'm so glad they didn't hug and sweep it all under the rug.

    • @Payne2view
      @Payne2view 3 роки тому +5

Yes, Yaz always seems more concerned with how she feels than what The Doctor may have been through. In part that's The Doctor's fault for not taking half an hour and explaining the risks, what others have gone through and how many people have come & gone. Although I'm not sure Yaz has ever been good at empathy. That character is far too self-involved.

The part where Amy and the Doctor are talking, and he says that she will be the end of him, and then she says "or viceversa"... The way he looks at her. It really hits me. I wouldn't know how to explain it, or why (well, I would, but not in a way that it would make others think of other moments similar to that one). That look is one of "nah, that will never happen" transformed into "I'm afraid every night that it will happen, cause it has already happened". It's fear, fear based on experience. And then in the next chapter she "dies", just to add to everything

@@joseignacioreallozano348 Well the theory is that the doctor went straight from Wedding of river song to Angels Take Manhatten and says goodbye to Amy and Rory. Desperate to spend more time with them, he goes back to them during the events of series 7A. It's hinted that the adventures in that part are out of order since the doctor references an event in a town called mercy that happens in the following episode in the power of three.
And that the doctor, the widow and the wardrobe, the doctor knows that he can't see Amy and Rory again without breaking the timeline, so delays it. And that's why he cries at the end , but smiles because he knows that evem though he can't see them again, he knows they're happy and they have each other
And in the power of three, the doctor talks about how he's running to Amy and Rory before they fade. So he already knows that their time is nearly up.

@@mrdr0161 that's... gotta be one of the most out-there fan hypotheses I've ever run across. And sorry, but no, I can't call them "theories," because that's not what 'theory' means.
Besides, if any of that were the case, he could easily pop back in time, any time he liked, and visit them in the past that the Weeping Angels kicked them back to, and rescued them. There must be causality rules involved that make that not allowed, so the events in this hypothesis would also be covered by the same exact rules.
I don't recall anything in Power of Three that was definitively referencing Town Called Mercy. The Doctor's lives have had a LOT of twists and turns, causing them to often say things that foreshadow events in the future simply because of similarities with events in the past. Besides, writers stick in stuff that's foreshadowing future events all the time. There's a reason the word foreshadowing exists, LOL!

I love the relationship the Doctor has with his/her companions, because they become more than that. They become so intertwined in each other's lives, that without one, there wouldn't be the other. Rose, Donna/Doctor, Martha Jones, The Girl Who Waited, The Impossible Girl etc
I just kinda feel like the companions now don't have that brilliant story arc, where they become so important, like the others. I really miss that...

Isn’t it beautiful the way you said each of their names the impossible girl, the girl that waited because that’s who they are, that which is so special to them. How you can’t just say Martha you have to say Martha Jones because it feels whole. Donna/doctor a reminder of who she is and the only reason she’s not still with him now. Then beautifully just Rose. That is all of her in one word and the power it exudes is known. And well, the way that’s how they are known, well... I think that’s brilliant!

It's been 2 days since my bestie left me, just as she left many others before me. I knew it would happen one day, as she has been like that throughout her entire life - meeting friends, giving them her light and then just going away when it's time to. Being with her felt like running with the Doctor, and seeing her go shattered my heart. While there was hope, I was waiting for her to come back, now the hope is gone, I doubt if I'll ever see her again. Seeing this video helped me to understand why she moves on so easily, and also it made me feel grateful for everything we've been through together, because the times we had were the best. Can't stop rewatching it though, I don't think I will ever be able to forget her. I don't want to, however bitter it feels. She really is like him - you know it all ends one day, but you never know when, and it hurts.

You've got to understand that, to a Timelord, an entity like the one that Rose created out of Jack when she made him functionally immortal makes them physically ill.
It's kind of like how, when the Ood captives were singing that terribly sad song, and the Doctor let Donna hear it for a bit and she begged it to be taken away. She was so upset that he could still hear it. She asked how he could bear it. He couldn't answer, because he really couldn't bear it, himself, yet had to.
Being around Jack is the same way to the Doctor. In the initial shock of such a creature existing, their first instinct was to run, as far and fast as possible, away from what, to the Doctor's species, is an abomination. They were even afraid to face Jack's existence when he was running towards the TARDIS, and the Doctor's instinctive move was to hit that dematerialization toggle.
Once there was no choice, he was forced to be around Jack, and he had to bear it, just like he had to bear hearing the incredibly sad song of the Ood captives. That doesn't make the Doctor wrong or cruel. It just makes them.... fallible, and imperfect. Like all of us.
I don't know about you, but I prefer my heroes to have more humanity (if that word can be used for an alien being) and less perfection.

Amazing video :) thanks. I wish I had some friends that liked Dr.Who just so we could talk about how amazing it is. What else is there that shows us so many stories to love and teaches us so much.

13 is too underrated..she has the potential to be on top...i love her...the script ruined it...
    Love for 13th Doc.❤️

Yeah, it's awful that she got the brunt of it when she's clearly a really good actor and has it in her to be an amazing doctor but the writing took a dive, I wish she'd stay longer and maybe switch out the show runner so we get to see her full potential

Yes, it is. What would chocolate be if it wasn't bitter sweet. How would you know joy without sorrow, up without down, left without right, in without out, ON without off? I think people over complicate the gift of experience. Or, don't appreciate it at all.

I guess the theme is the parting of companions, I might have started this vid thinking the line from Ten’s Madame de Pompadour’s episode that the Doctor is worth the monsters but that’s a diff theme haha

" Nothing is sad till is over... than everything is" that describes what i currently feel about the series... It kinda of ended after capaldi left... what remains is a empty shell that chibnall is adamant to destroy...

In the end it was not the doctor who spoke the words the reason he does everyting, but by one of his companions. "Because the joy its worth the pain."
