Have you ever tried this spit / tree cake? I know they have it in so many different countries these days, even in Japan. So curious to hear if they have it in your country? 🤤
The work you put into your videos shows! Just had a realization after watching your video that a lot of people come to UA-cam as a form of escape and travel videos like you make, especially as well made as you make them, is so perfect for it. Love the bloopers as well as the thumbnail :) I really wish you 10x growth on UA-cam as that would mean it can pay you to travel more and make more amazing content like this! Keep it up my friend!
Thank you so much ABR! Your comment just made my day ❤️ I'm having fun making these videos and documenting some of these stories, so hopefully over time more people can resonate with some of these videos :) Thanks again for all your constant support and excited to catch up once I'm back! 🚀
It was so fun to watch, couldn't stop myself from giggling, what a nice vibe! ☺️ loved the angle of the story, loved the bloopers, loved your experience! Great job!👏
Ačiū labai! Thanks for helping and translating, this video is yours more than mine 😜 I cannot watch this video too much as I feel like having another šakotis! 🔥
During some sort Frech cooking show they were making this cake, it was said that supposedly Napoleon after returing back to Frace after crosong and spending some time in Lithuania brought some of these cakes. And now you can find it in some bakeries, some even adding some alcohol 😅
Same here, my favourite cake by a mile! So good that your Lithuanian father in law used to send you Šakotis, I love the homemade version! Also for the teas you're right, they have very nice herbs and combining tea and Šakotis is an amazing option! :)
Thanks a lot Rida! Still posting once a week but have so much footage with all these trips that I need to share it with the world haha. ŠAKOTIS was indeed sensational, so tasty but soooo much work! 🤯 😋
@@AleSalvinoonce I brought one to some foreigners and one Azerbaijani said that it taste like cookies, cookie cake 😅 also, someone said that it almost look like a Christmas tree
this is why this cacke is expensive its not easy to make, when i was akid i eated non stop evry single birthdays ,christmas and easters :) now i do this not often . lazy cacke with sakotis very sweet and tasty too :)
Totally agree, it takes such a long time to make 🍰 but these days I think it's common to see it Maxima and other supermarkets, although it's not as tasty as when you make it with this lady! 😀 This is really one of my favourite sweets in Lietuva 🇱🇹 labai ačiū 👋

Hey Hallo, ich have eat this cake for two years the first time in hanover at chrismas Event. I love this cake so mutch, can i order this cake her in Germania for me self?
Its not really German. Germans, as well as Chechs, Italians (i think) and few other nations have similar things. Germans baumkuchen doesnt look and taste as ours. Type in in google baumkuchen and you will see difference. And "baumkuchenas" is not right name - it is called "šakotis".
that's very true! :) There's a lot of different recipes in different countries. Probably I only wanted to highlight that the German Baumkuchen inspired many other countries to do these tree cakes :)
Agree with you! My understanding is that Baumkuchen inspired many of these tree cakes. Surely there's so many different recipes in various countries! :)
You're right :) My understanding is that Baumkuchen was the inspiration for many countries to produce the tree cake but definitely very different across countries for sure!

Is there any place in Vilnius one can watch the process of making Sakotis?
Not sure in Vilnius, we did in a place near Lekėčiai and we were so happy with that experience! 🇱🇹
@@AleSalvino Thanks,Ale Salvino.

Baumkuchen is way different. It is a common misconception in Lithuania. Šakotis don't look like and don't even taste like baumkuchen.
